Who said it was his plan? What matters is that he appears to support the plan. It is the latest iteration of plans by the Heritage Foundation, the new name for the Atlas Foundation. 8 years ago a high priority for that organization was control of the Supreme Court and he secured that for them. with the help of Mitch McConnel.Believe what he spoke at was a meeting of the Heritage Foundation, out of which group came Project 2025. Which means, if anything, he'd some kind of influence on the group, rather than that the plan's his. What you say about many of his appointees, I don't know about "many," but at least some have been, that's true. Neither of those things make Project 2025 Trump's plan, and he has distanced himself from it
Thank you, jim, for sharing your perspective. One which I'm sure you realise not everyone sharesWhat matters is that he appears to support the plan...
Bingo. They don't want migrants but they also don't want to do the jobs that the migrants are doing. People with BAs flipping burgers rather than swallowing their middle class pride and learning a trade. People preferring no job to unskilled manual labour, which is what a lot of the illegal migrants are doing. And that's going to bite them on the butt if they really do mass deportations rather than something more nuanced and organized to deal with illegal immigration. businesses and economists are already warning about that. I'm not saying that they don't need to deal with illegal immigration, but brute force mass deportations may do more harm than good.
Not really. The people targeted are people of colour and asylum seekers. The people being blamed (often without back up)for social distress are people of colour and asylum seekers. This is true in Canada and Europe as well as in the US. The next step is to say we are only for immigrants who "share our values" or who "will not make us change" or more bluntly "are like us". It is a cover for racism.
I am sure you have chosen not to know why Transgenderd folk feel threatened.
Because there are voices in the MAGA side of the GOP that want marriage returned to "traditional" heterosexual marriage only. It is not just about what the President-Elect has said, it is also about what those who back him have said. [PArticularly because I am not always sure who is the tail and who is the dog. Trump honestly believes he is using the far-right and Christain NAtionalists and they are convinced they are using him. Who is wagging who is not always clear.]
The unemployed Americans are either unable or unwilling to do the agricultural work gor the pay that is offered.
I did not claim he would do those things. Others want to do that and the believe he gives them permission to do that. One state has already tabled a bill to ban trans sex women from using women's washrooms. There is a lot more in Project 2025 that is even scarier. Many of the young men who voted for him believe, "Her body; my choice."
Looks like the dog caught it's tail. Whatever happens is now squarely on them. They even have the Supreme Court, and will for at least a generation.
The fear is people will suffer. The rich will get tax cuts and trickle down economics will continue to mostly not even trickle down. Education will be gutted. Disabled and disadvantaged kids will bear the brunt of the cuts.
Or maybe I'm wrong. I'd love to be wrong.
Think they'd do them, Waterfall, if the pay was increased and benefits were added/improved. Course, that could easily make the price of food soar. What the Trump/Vance administration would do then while keeping to their campaign promise to lower costs, I've no idea.
Agreed
You could actually come up with the requested quotes (if, indeed, you could find any), rather than continually avoiding, evading, and dodging the question.

I just came across this perspective on Bluesky. Interesting
"I'm sorry but no, these appointments aren't some kind of 3D fascist chess, expertly designed to strip us of our will to fight. These are the dregs left in the barrel of Trump's loyalists. They're all he's got. It's bad enough without pretending (again) like Trump is a Sun Tzu-level genius. He's not."
For that, Hitler has groups to beat people up. I wonder if the Proud Boys would qualifyobstacle to his success will be Republicans in the Senate who support the constitution

ANd the HEritage Foundation has claimed in the past to have been able to inform/steer/direct/influence Republican Presidents daitng back to Reagan's first term.Who said it was his plan? I saw some suggestions on X this morning that Gaetz and Gabbard in particular are Cabinet selections designed to test how loyal the Senate is (or maybe more accurately is their loyalty to the Preseident-Elect as a person over and above concerns for the well-being of the state). If Matt Gaetz gets approved by the Senate, he is ready to attack Trump's opponents. I assume appointing authors of parts of the plan indicates he wants those parts achieved. The main obstacle to his success will be Republicans in the Senate who support the constitution.
