I had passion iced tea at the breakfast. Starbucks isn't Canadian, but the drink is pretty red! How about we add that for now, it's too early for beer or wine here anyway.

Happy Canada Day!

Good morning everyone! It is a cool (+9C) Canada Day morning here in my part of Manitoba. It is supposed to be sunny, but a high of only +20C today. A great day to be outside. After all the rain everything green will grow like crazy with a bit of heat.

Finger and Toe nails are red and Canada flags (tattoos) are flying on my feet, calves, shoulder, and forearm. Happy Birthday, country o' mine!

I wondered when the vegamite was going to come out, Pilgrim's Progress :). How are you? What are the temperatures in your neck of the woods these days.

I think the wondercafe2 is kinda cool, Kimmio . . . it will be an adventure.

May everyone on this national holiday be safe and happy.

Sounds like a perfect day to be outside, Beloved! Cool tattoos and toes. Are the tatoos temporary (I love Canada but I don't think I'd get permanent flags tattooed on my feet- it would hurt for one thing!;))

Pilgrims, do Aussies eat peanut butter? PB&J (jam/jelly) on white bread -lunch of champions! Or peanut butter and banana- a bit healthier choice.

Beloved, wondercafe2 is kind of fun. I've only been on since Saturday so it's like a new toy still. I like these cute :D:rolleyes:emoticons! It's strange the psychological barriers we're not aware of, necessarily, but normally when I see greyed out white space, I think- "can't be used/ typed into/ edited." I just realized that. Something tells me, I'll get over it pretty quick!

"In a weak moment . . . " - too cute! What every busyfamily needs . . . a busypuppy LOL :) - do you need to house-train?

I'm sure you will enjoy this new member in your family immensely. Is busypup not ready yet to leave it's mommma? What kind of a pup (breed, age, etc.)? Name picked out yet? Congratulations! I think back the many years when we got our pup - we loved her so much!

Enjoy your pink lemonades on this Canada Day, Jae, if you get to have one.

Keep safe - Pinga and Tabitha - enjoy your time in our beautiful world together (Happy Canada Day!)

Hope you both get to have a "cold" one this Canada Day ChemGal and Hilary - never heard of an aprikat (I guess I don't get out much :D).

Yup, temporary Kimmio, in that a few days they will wash right off LOL! I was putting them on last night and hubby said to me "why don't you wait until tomorrow, I don't want to go to bed with a tattoo lady". Now you will all think that this is a very innocent statement. But, son's gal was standing by, and she has many tattoos . . . we all just laughed as hubby blushed. She is so good natured, she wasn't offended at all.

Oooo busymom - a PUPPY! Is it a particular breed? Nothing much is cuter than a puppy, IMO - lots of work tho! And 'happy packing' to Tab & Pinga!

Big Canada Day greetings to all! Did you hear about woman who's trying to get Strawberry Shortcake recognized as "Canada's official cake" - she makes the points - it's red & white; strawberries are grown coast to coast to coast & usually available around July 1.

Our hot water tank sprang a leak last night - so I'm staying inside out of the sweltering humidity today so I won't need a shower! - except for a brief sojourn to our annual CD Parade. Our mayor - Hazel - is 93 and she walks the parade every year! Amazing woman - but she has decided not to run for re-election this fall! I think this photo is from last year's parade ...

Awww puppy! Congrats. Nothing stops me in my tracks like a cute puppy. Even reading about puppies I turn to mush. We can't have pets- I sooo wish we could.I saw a really cute puppy yesterday sitting with her owners on the sidewalk patio of a coffee shop. They said she was 5 mo. old. I forgot to ask what breed, but she looked like a golden lab/ maybe collie mix? I don't know. But she was gold coloured, short hair, except for white paws, like ankle boots almost. I don't think I've seen that before. Her owners gave me a treat to give her, and she pushed her little head through the bars of the fence to get it from me, wiggled half way out. She was a little shy to let me pet her- I wanted to take a photo but that was a no go. She retreated to her mom by then.

As an Intern Pastor I can't drink anything alcoholic - not that I used to much anyway. My favorite drink for summertime would be a lovely pink lemonade.
Not to worry, Jae.....

I'll boil you up a cup of vegemite -there seems to be a lot of jars not so discreetly placed in the airport trash cans....... ;)

Sheesh, whatever happened to those "polite" Canadians, eh?

Hey PP. What time does your plane get in?
Maybe me and the roofer can meet you and Richard.

me and the roofer. Has a certain ring to it.
"The roofer and I" has a better ring to it......
Face it, Crazyheart, I'm just one classy dame.
The best a gal from the prairies can hope for is that the roofer will let you carry his tools from the truck.;)

It's freezing at night. I have to wear bed socks -it's so un-Australian!

Thanks for the good wishes & encouragement for our puppy. He is a bichon frise/shih tzu cross....supposed to be hypo allergenic. Still too young to leave his momma. He could come to us July 20, but we have asked that he stay until Civic Holiday weekend since we had already booked a hotel stay that weekend, and we don't want to put him in a kennel when he is still adjusting. He sure is cute! As much as I have fought getting a dog (extra work, expense etc.) I can't get over how much I have already bonded with this one. I've only seen him twice and I think I am as excited as the kids. As for a name, we still haven't decided though Wilson, Rascal and Archie are on the table at this time. I kinda like Wilson. Thoughts?

its beyond hot here again...my sweetie and i have been staying indoors to try to wait for the heat to dissipate (i notice that Toronto is much cooler, but much more humid...)

I'm just waiting to head out for the fireworks. I think this has been the hottest day so far this spring/summer. I don't know if we officially hit 30, but our thermometer in the shade was registering higher than that.

Chemguy actually got a lot of yard work done. One side of our house has dead grass, it takes too long for the snow to melt and the sump pump drains there in the winter. He removed all of the sod and we'll be getting stone. I did a bit in the garden, but he made sure I didn't overdo it. This heat isn't good for me. I'm feeling less than 100%, but not so bad I want to use the berinert. I'll keep an eye on it and take an anti-inflammatory and wear sensible shoes for the walk over to the firework viewing area instead of my flip flops like I did earlier.
