I don't get weather alerts either. Again, my radio is on every hour I'm awake, so I hear them, when I'm awake. And if a hurricane takes me away when I'm sleeping, well, then, it will be a surprise.

Actually, Shaw Mobile is a sticking point in the deal. The competition bureau doesn't want Rogers to get it but they are having trouble getting someone else to buy it. Videotron was involved at one point but that seems to have ended. They have a mobility division but it only operates in Quebec and the Ottawa Valley in Ontario (and maybe the Atlantic??) so acquiring Shaw Mobility would let them go national, or closer to it. My son uses them and seems happy. We have Shaw internet at home. They tried to sell me their mobile service. I told them I was not interested as long as there's any risk of them being taken over by Rogers.
Agree. Hate us too strong a word. When we terminated our account because we were moving, Bell made that a terrible experience. I strongly dislike being treated like that.Hate is a strong word ... like Jude! Few understand of what I's peak ... could be their immersion in it ... power!
When we all are moved to a central spine or backbone of a single corporation ... can you envision cuts and further chaos?
Is there a prior vision as pre science? Not likely ... they do not see what's coming ... anon!

To be clear, that statement was about Videotron, not Shaw. I have no idea what Shaw service is like and don't plan to find outI'm skeptical after living in more remote parts of the country for so long. I also went on a bus trip to Whitehorse and Bell and Telus customers had service in the wildest spots along the Alaska Highway. I'll see how it plays out.

Good morning! Are we all here? Did we survive the Great Internet Shutdown? I don't mean to make light of it, for it did bring a wide swath of disaster (or at least inconvenience) to a lot of people whose phones, TV, and Interac cards suddenly didn't function. Also, we remember the pandemic, and how it's still spreading, though certain parties want to make light of it. Anyway, we gather here in spirit round the virtual coffee cart, and join the conversations and community. All is ready.

I don't understand why they aren't at least keeping up the sickness benefit. Why should it matter if someone was hospitalized in Feb with COVID vs today? With no more payment for sick days, junior will likely go back to work on Monday. I have offered him to pay his wages so he he can isolate. The garage work is too warm- they are not wearing masks. Just thinking how he would spread it to customers. He says he doesn’t understand how the government could be so strict at first and now allow everything.
Oh, he wasn’t hospitalized. You could practically apply for it after one week of sickness for the week before and only needed proof of your income on request. Maybe too many people cheated. You would get $450 per week I think up to a maximum of $2000?That’s better than nothing. They discontinued it in May.I don't understand why they aren't at least keeping up the sickness benefit. People are hospitalized though, and I don't think that timeframe should matter.Oh, he wasn’t hospitalized.
