Last November, I had the opportunity to hire someone to clean my house which helped them and me. They did deep cleaning which I hadn't gotten to, and it was just lovely as we had Christmas in January at our home and I wasn't fretting about how things were.

We had discerned they had availability and i had need, and was looking forward to them coming today.
As some of you know, we have a long hill coming up to our house, and sadly, between their tires and lack of winter driving experience and our hill, they could not make it up. They chose to say "let's try a different day".

Winter conditions are not to be underestimated. Snows do make a difference, but, so does just knowledge of how to go up (or down) a hill in snow conditions. For example, the person wasn't aware that you could drive where there wasn't tracks...(less icy, more traction), or the importance of steady pressure on the gas, as compared to spinning.

Anyhow, i am hoping that she got home and is having a tea to calm, and is enjoying the sun.

I used to have trouble with my driveway if there was too much snow on it and it's not even that steep. The CR-Vs have always been fine since the AWD kicks in but the Civics have never liked it much. I usually park on the street and shovel if there's more than 5cm or so. Not an issue right now, though, since we only have the CRV. Little M has my current Civic and we'll probably transfer it to him next time he is down if things are calmer on the pandemic front. We are not even sure if we will replace it yet. Until I am back in the office regularly and Mrs. M is able to get out and do some of the activities she has planned for retirement, there's not much point to us having two cars.

Good morning! As winter continues, and plays havoc with slopes and driveways, let us remember that spring is just 55 days away. The coffee cart is ready to supply your virtual hot drink needs, as well as to facilitate the sharing of stories, wisdom and humour. C'mon in and join in.

Room for denied science (defined once as observation and experience; not to the pious) on that some are fixed ...

When disagreeing you might be up against the Jinns, or j'aimes ... in the real world such things are indeterminate and open to runes ... rundles as they tear about? Thus RIP Urs ... stinking Uriel ... go figure how this appears from a deep inner perspective ... innate? Thus word extends ...

Greetings. Spring is much closer to us here. We're heading out for a walk and lunch today. The forecast said sun but there's no evidence of that yet. It's foggy and overcast so far.

Spring seems very far away when one awakes to -22.

Lost a dear old colleague yesterday, who was not at all old. Nicest guy around, long time department head of Human Resources Development at the College. Great mentor to many, a ton of fun (always a grin on his face). Lovely wife (who also worked at the College) and girls. Had retired to New Brunswick a few years ago, but had stayed connected to many of us via Facebook. Pancreatic cancer. Only 62.

Why can't I find the thread I'm looking for? The one about books we are currently reading. It's like looking in the grocery store and I finally ask someone to help me find what I'm looking for....and it is right where I thought I had looked!

I read over 100 books last year (yes, I keep track!) and so far I've read 8 this month. I'm at the age where I realize I'd better get cracking if I want to read all the books I own, and some of the others that I want to read!

I am very impressed! I am SUCH a slow reader ... but I do enjoy it nevertheless!

Good morn, all! Shout out to those who have lots of books, for nothing goes better with tea or coffee than a good book. As we gather round the coffee cart, let us join in the conversation and community, and continue to discuss what we're reading. The cart is ready, enjoy.

Are books like comatose minds until you project some life into them by connection of experience of that psyche passing?

Imagine an eternal sol resting there! Probably in Peril ... as a warning Trump would say don't rad that crap ... self preservation of the greatest gods and why thinking souls rest elsewhere! Gods being idealist that believe they can defeat and destroy anything that resists their badness ... resolution is anon ... due to brain drains ...

Isn't there a corrupt guideline about knowledge and then some mysterious (unknown) power came up a form able device with an aura inside! This goes around ... strange enough ... rite? I may be temporal meaning something beyond timeless! Thus temp Lars ... gods in the Boehme Eire ... that boom you hear when approaching escape velocity when you lighter up with experience and science! Some get nun ... by free choice without experience ... they eliminated everything observable ... thus ground level grunts ... the Nordic ungrund ... just below the surface by partisans ... outliers! Innate to say least about the extant ... horizon warps ...

Good morning. We're enjoying the sounds of the ships' fog horns in the harbour this morning. It's s foggy morning and downtown is hidden from view so far today. Today will be a day to work on some UFO'S.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I wouldn't put everything I read...some of it is fluff! I keep track on Librarything.com and on Goodreads. I think I've mentioned that before...but a reminder in case anyone is like me and wants a record. The cool thing about these sites is that...if I forget what a book was about (!!!!) I can get a reminder when I click on the title.

On a different note, I just wrote a story about our family farm and submitted it to the relatively new Ontario rural archives website. If they accept it, (no prizes or money...just glory), I'll post the link. Our family farm has a rather unique history and I wanted to share it. I sent the story to my kids and suggested that this is a story to keep alive for the next generation.
