Another pro for here - I didn't hear of an issue with a pharmacy declining someone for not being a customer. (I was declined, but was a customer and that wasn't a systemic issue).
With some pharmacies having them at first/some not, and different pharmacies having different vaccines and thus different criteria, here the private companies seem to be good at dealing with this as a public thing.
Where did a pharmacy decline someone because they weren't a patient?

For flip flopping - I think we will see that with AstraZeneca soon and who is eligible to get it. Highly doubt that will just be an AB thing, and isn't something I would fault on anyone in this province.

i registered on the shoppers site prior to being able to register in the region.
I got my one in the region, and got a text today from shoppers re there vaccine, but, didn't do anything with it. I'm hesitant on clicking on links from texts.
Is links from texts a safety concern?
I wouldn't call it an unknown number, as I got confirmation codes from the same number when registering - I do assume the link I used to do so was legitimate and not a phishing scam as it was from the main website.

Announcement today that moderna has cut shipments but Phizer has increased. Sadly it is all very slow coming

trudeau said he is prepared to send out the Red Cross for vaccination clinics. Once we have vaccines. I have wondered why they haven’t deployed the army. Seems so obvious. it feels like the various hospitals and clinics are scrambling to get the staff. Ours has shutdown because they are needed in other spots. I mean they are also scrambling to get vaccines but continue to let drug stores book appointments and then set up clinics staffed by the military and move those from spot to spot, neighborhood to neighborhood. At least iin Toronto, where 6 million people live and need vaccines

How are AstraZeneca appointments going elsewhere? Here those have slowed for being delivered, a lot of hesitancy regarding those and it's a specific age group without the health issues listed for phase 2B.

Because Ontario does them through the drug stores, I don't think we hear as much detail on them vs. Pfizer and Moderna which are done through public health. I would have to dig to see if I can find some for Ontario.

I have a nephew who has studied mathematics. He once explained to me the practical side of mathematics- solving logistical problems, like optimizing bus schedules and connections ( Berlin Germany actually has done a really great job with that) .I am sure the vaccination scheduling would fall into this area. Probably nobody has thought about getting the right experts on board of the planning committee.

This is about London, but I imagine we'll see similar in some other Ontario health units. Basically, London has the fifth highest rate of COVID per hundred thousand population, but no declared hot spots. Therefore, our vaccine supply is going drop by about 30% as the province zeroes in on the places that it has declared to be "hot spots". And apparently, we are already behind on receiving vaccine. The province had said all health units would get enough supply for 40% of their population by next week, but our medical officer says we are out by about 20-25,000 doses. MLHU never has opened their third mass clinic due to lack of supply. Now we may lose one of the existing two (probably the one where Mrs. M went).

Here, pharmacies will not be getting what they were expecting due to supply issues, they are focusing on the AHS clinics first, pharmacies 2nd.

Yeah, Ontario is a bit different because pharmacies have only been doing AZ so they aren't really affecting supply to the health units.

BC was going to use the AZ for the essential workers. It changed it to giving it to pharmacies for people 55+. A friend called today and was able to get her shot today. She's happier

A full week out (vaccine Thursday afternoon, today friday, end of work day) and my CBC is a bit wonky. I purposely delayed getting bloodwork done to avoid the vaccine throwing it off too much, but also wanted it complete before my appointment with all tests back.

Nothing that make make someone go yikes or anything, but would probably be worth repeating soon if I didn't know why, especially considering the change for me. I don't think the doctor will worry about it at all though considering.

A friend of ours just got her AZ vaccine at Shoppers today. They told her she could come back in four weeks for her second shot. I found that quite upsetting. Maybe I would have gone the AZ route if I'd known that was an option.

Why 4 weeks? I thought all were being delayed and even if not AZ has data showing to wait for 12 weeks is better than sooner.
