Covid 19 Vaccine

Won't harm but how effective the 2nd dose will be when it finally is received is questionable. I wonder too is it first priority group to all receive it followed by 2nd dose or are they just going to move into the next phase before doing 2nd doses or have they even decided yet.
I haven't heard when the 2nd dose can be expected. I think they have said a wait of 6 weeks won't cause a problem so maybe that indicates their intentions. WHO is now saying the same thing even though Pfizer isn't saying that and neither is Health Canada. So many groups are claiming priority. So Legault is on Trudeau's case to get the vaccines faster. I don't know what Trudeau has to deal with to get us the vaccine. At least we are in the line with reputable companies that have done standard testing.

Agreed, but it's a good example of the sort of "fast retail" that has landed us in this mess, never satisfied with the latest something, but always anticipating its replacement.

According to my age, my first shot would be July and the booster in Sept.

Interesting - my mate who is 5 years older than I will be in the stage ahead of me in line - so he'll be well on his way to protection before I will.

With predisposed conditions ... I may be directed to step back as the cow flying off into the dark ... cowed?

Few hold understand this con diction ...

Autoimmune conditions are mentioned as a reason to not get the vaccine from AHS (due to lack of testing). I had mostly heard about immunosuppressants before not the conditions themselves. AIs are quite common that's a huge number of people where it's iffy if they should be getting it or not. One of the pages was updated today and that segment on those who should be cautious about getting it was removed not sure why.

Long term care in the North zone is supposed to be done for today and all of the province by the end of next week (1st doses), they were fast with that Moderna one. We are starting 2nd doses here, not waiting.
ETA - still listening to the Q&As. A delayed 2nd dose might be used in the future, but with the 2 doses there is informed consent with the first being given regarding the 2nd dose. Due to that, delayed doses will only occur for those who have been informed when they get their 1st dose, if it's done.

This is some of the gamble I was worried about (in addition to just getting good herd immunity eventually) - Pfizer could withdraw vaccine supply from Quebec if two-dose schedule not followed: Legault
Not just for this, but new variants or even strains or other pandemics. I wasn't sure if I was being overly concerned, but if the drug companies don't approve of how they are used there is the potential to lose out in the future.
My understanding was this is why Pfizer's wasn't being used for long term care here, the first batch wasn't allowed to go away from the distribution centers, even though there are time periods where it doesn't need to be super cold if used right away. So it would have been possible to have taken the vaccine out of the specialized freezers and delivered to a long term care home to vaccinate there, but it would have been a breach of the contract.

Germany has been vaccinating in LTC as a first priority and Halifax is starting in three nursing homes this week.

But with which one? Here, Moderna was used for the LTC, when the vaccinations first started it was for healthcare workers with Pfizer's due to the need to go to the location.
