Sorry to hear of the death of your treasured friend @Pinga - sounds like a big loss to many others too. Yes - enough already, I agree.

I've been cutting Chemguy's hair for a while now, I think I have gotten quite good at it. First few his complaint was I didn't do enough but I was a bit scared of doing too much with the razor plus I figured longer was a bit more forgiving. I go very long without haircuts normally. It does get quite tangled easier though, so more tiring when the split ends are left for too long, plus with phototherapy and taking baths for my skin I throw it up in a bun and it's been getting a bit long for the 2 spin pins to hold it up easily.

I think all teenage girls with long hair have learned you always tell a stylist to go longer than you actually want it as they pretty much always take off a few inches more than that. I figured with Chemguy though he would go conservative with the cuts plus the length we were saying beforehand gave some give with a range I would have been happy with. *sigh* Not really, it's at least 3 inches shorter than I wanted. He at least did a good job though, my expectation was I could go this short if he botched it and my usual person could fix it - which it will grow by then anyway, as the earliest I imagine doing that is the spring when it's warm enough for it to be done outside, while just wearing a long sleeved shirt - or if I get vaccinated, and having that be in effect which I think the weather would be warm enough first.

Ah well, it's still long hair, I think of this as medium length but most people think of it as long still. I measured, 7" were cut off and that was in one scissors snip in most of it, not that it was a bit off, followed by more, followed by more trying to get it even. It grows fast. Next time I stick with the rule. I thought we were aiming for about the 3-4 inches for the most drastic snips and then going with whatever was the shortest to even if it all out.

At least hair grows back. I have been doing hubby’s hair too. He is so funny. Has decided that he has been wasting his $25. I do a pretty good job with the dog clippers.
but I have short hair. Well it’s not so short now. But not really able to be cut by someone who has no clue. I keep looking at it and wondering though. Had it cut in February , was due in March but cancelled as we scrambled to get to the border from Florida. Then had it cut in August before sons wedding. Gosh. The good old days when you could meet up with 50 people outside.

so it’s back to long and scraggly. I was ready to try a new hair place here , now we live here. But even in our yellow zone I am not too comfortable. So scraggly it is

Good morning, all! Happy solstice. As we pause from trimming hair, and dealing with split ends, let us gather round and share hot beverages. Coffee cut is up and running. Help yourself.

Restricted haircuts have been hard to take. Shallow person that I am, LoL

I spoke with a neighbor outside recently and she was highly critical of anyone who is complaining of being bored these days. Seemed judgemental to me.

Enough of these thoughts. Time to enjoy my virtual coffee.

My husband went to the same hair salon as usual, but, i did a double take when he came home.
He was almost bald. No style, just a really close buzz.
He thinks the person did an oops, then tried to fix it, and couldn't.
The good news is, hair grows. The other thing is the really short hair is growing on us, though, he does say it is cold when outside.

I bought hair elastics for the first time. When I was young, i had long hair, but, my mom did it with braids every day. Since Grade 5, I have had short hair, the longest being a shag in grade 7 or so.
So, it is odd to have long hair due to covid, and be able to pull it back. I may keep it this long for a while. I did get it cut before my new granddaughter was born, but, can't imagine getting it cut again until feb or so

So sorry to hear about your friend Pinga. I'm getting ready to hear the announcement of the 2-week lockdown for Ontario. We have zero cases in our community. So, it is a little hard to take...no contact with my sisters or Mom over Christmas? Or son? Or trip to see other son? Life changes in a political instant. And I know and respect the reason, but it is still tough on the heartstrings.

We are spending our Christmas without family anyhow. For various reasons, Little M isn't coming home and my extended family had already decided not to do anything this year. So, lockdown really doesn't change anything for us. And I support it in any case. Working in health care as I do, I can see that we need to break the chain of infection now, before the system is completely swamped.

It's tough for sure. We are already in a grey zone lockdown in this city and await the announcement which is coming about further restrictions.

Officials keep noting that citizens are more mobile now than we were in the spring. Of course we are! Back in March we were much more restricted than we have been for the past month.

Hair salons are still open here. There are limitations on numbers of people allowed in and masks are to be worn by both customer and stylist. My husband hasn't had his hair cut since last January or February. He's being compared to Santa, Grizzly Adams and Jeff Bridges more lately. :)

Mrs. M does my hair these days and I have a couple trimmers to choose from for the beard and neck. So I am keeping things fairly neat and avoiding my "Jesus" look as I nicknamed it at one point.:D

Good day. We woke up to snow today. It's raining here now. Areas north and south of us seemed to be getting it worse than us.

Our neighbour took this picture today. This is our home. 20201221_111525.jpg

Nice pad you got there. Looks like you're really out in the wilderness from that angle, too.

That's what's cool about this park. Our neighbours are actually quite close. There are trees and bushes between most sites which is nice.

Time to knit him a hat for Christmas

We had a walking visit with my parents which was a bit of a last minute surprise. They wanted to deliver presents instead of relying on mail. I did say sorry, not sorry, you're not coming in to use the bathrooms. We did a walk on the decorated street and were able to chat, there was closer contact with others on the street than between the 2 of us and my parents - and even then, enough spacing where I was comfortable. I think my parents were a bit surprised when I suggested it, if it weren't for the kids I doubt they would have done the drive right now - my sister is being less careful about possible exposure, I wouldn't be surprised if hugs happened there. Outdoor gatherings aren't allowed, but exercise activities are. Doing what we did is discouraged but I suspect it's because they think things like closer contact is likely and we were careful about that.
My sister suggested doing the same thing when we exchange gifts. I just don't see how it's possible to be careful about distancing with the kids though, as much as I would love to take them to see Christmas decorations. I'm hoping the outdoor gathering rule may be eased in Jan and we can find something to do then. Maybe snowmen in our fairly untouched backyard. She is welcome to set up the potty in the garage haha.
