Yet those who are aware can live that love..... actually the only way is by example.
Those who get it and finally understand can also share enough of it to reach the heart.

Maybe Trump's wife and daughter called him out, even briefly, from the self serving aspect of his mind.
There is a lot for them to do now to reconcile the families, let alone the people who were screaming at him from
the USA to across the oceans. We who are far away physically, can live the love here and pray.
Call people to Prayer wherever they are. And do it... the love thing.

We also have a lot to answer for still here in Canada, so we must be doing that here as well.
Strongly protesting delays and living the love that loved us first.

God's Spirit is at work in us.... to call out those who abuse, enslave, and do harm in any way.
The ordinary folks are disturbed by his uncaring and indifference. I have a hard time also with his
constant blaming others.

Love will win. How? I just it will but am also responsible to be responsibly involved where I am, where you are.

It dawns on me how many transgendered folks i know or am aware of, and the increasing frequency of it being an aside in a story.

Is society shifting enough that those who are transgendered are now more likely to take the step? Is it more about it shifting to being something that is disclosed?
I wonder , did we used to lose folks to suicide more frequently.

Curious. I was even watching tv series on netflix and realized part way through that one character was transgendered. It was a part of the story line, but, in a way that spoke to the story of "who is your family"

That's been my experience too @Pinga I have two friends who have been making the transition for a while. One just had top surgery and is delighted. One person who was in the Spamalot cast identified as pansexual while we were in the show. I see now the gender of this person on FB is different from that time. We've begun to have some clients who identified as transgendered in our program. That has caused us to reflect on how we serve them since we are a coed residential facility. It is good to know we can accommodate them.

I am hoping that things are becoming more open and safe for people to come out. I know there's much room for improvement.

There is no increase in the actual number of transgender persons. There is an increase in awareness and a decrease in social stigma that makes it possible to understand oneself sooner and safer to come out sooner. Not many years in the past only the most severe cases of gender dysphoria managed to survive and actually come out. More often than not one suffered in silence and so very many succumbed to suicide (many cases a convenient accident)....a suicide that was never acknowledged as a result of being transgender as it was so carefully hidden. The suicide rates were enormous and even now the serious suicide ideation rate is well over 43% with 39% having one or more instances every year (this was me). These are 2009 figures from Ontario.
Think of the situation this way ..... imagine a lake with a very hilly rocky bottom. When the water levels are high (stigma) very few rocks show through as shoals. As the water level (stigma) drops then more and more rock begin to surface. Did rocks become a fad or more prevalent? Or did the drop in water level just reveal what was always there?

That's the way with many social issues (for lack of a better word right now) isn't it. Closets are being opened and people are talking more.

I knew that in our Conference people asked if it was 'safe' to come here to minister. That threw me into a heap of sad.
I still feel ill thinking about it. With our new structure and we are Region #6..... I am hoping what we have learned and changed for good is added to as we are in a whole other geographical area. Meaning it is huge.

Inclusive is Complete, whole, just like God desires for each of us.

We are cottage country... but open all year long for life. And life abundantly.
Our ministerial folks have planned to meet regularly to keep up our spirits, check in, or, do whatever people need to
at the time. We will be needing to reach our arms wider than ever as a Region... so being grounded with each other
will help that to be a good thing. Right now it seems very large. From Val D'Or, Quebec, to Thunder Bay, Ontario.

I am also hoping for better names than Regions. Something that tells a bit of what we are about.
I can't imagine being called to an undescriptive area for ministry. a hint of Spirit, or Holy, or Abundance,
or.... ? Hmmmm….

Should one minister when they don;t absolutely know? Thus the abstract probes to see what is responsible ... as an onus !

Some say this is a zero sum as we can't get it together and thus it amounts to nothing ... on this side of reality ... equivalent to pure passion when all thoughts are lost ...

Don't pin it on me it is nothing ... the aura that looks like a circle ... but a sphere of minor influence ... kind of dis-believable by those not desiring to be exposed to alien thought or strange intelligence as it could be admonished ... according to tales from past authority!

Those who are in positions that travel the conference get a sense of what is what. It has changed for now we are an Affirming Conference. Hooray!! It does not mean however that every congregation adheres to it, but the vast majority do. But some feel they are already affirming members by the fact they are accepted already as anyone is. They don't necessarily see the need to do a formal thing. since it's actively happening.

Not sure where to go from there. How do we let the walkers by see a tangible sign that we are a safe congregation?
Thus the discussion continues. No doubt it does in churches yet.

Debating keeps the emotions up ... sing a sad song as you see what comes of excess emotions ... tis Legend as 40 swine ... herds of piggy's ... they can root out good luck from Gothic forests ... truffle versus trifles? My first thought would be simply that the goal for these people is to match their biological sex characteristics to their gender, no more or less. A transwoman generally isn't looking to have a touch pad and fur, IME, she's looking to have a vagina and breasts. None of what you described falls under that and would put things into the realm of body modification, not SRS.

Mendalla said it well.... what we are longing for is a body that most closely matches our internal sense of gender. This is a biological need. Gender Dysphoria is a biological condition caused by a brain that does not match the body. It is not a choice or just a simple desire or preference. This is where it differs from other body modifications or cosmetic surgeries.

it would seem then, for those who choose 2 undergo SRS, that there is some kind of inner "template" of male/female consisting of a not infinite range of physical characteristics (breasts, penis, vagina, and all shaped within narrow parameters...)?

If so, I wonder how much of this is personal choice (what colour does one want their vagina?), how much is influenced by social norms* (like upbringing, education, etc)?

I am wondering if there are more "conservative" SRSers and more radical SRSers? The radical onez would want a sufficiently different body plan, like improvements on female plumbing, which is much too crowded lol and perhaps ones that don't want breasts because of increased breast cancer risk?

If all of the above makes sense?

*like the 2 spirited have a culture that they exist in ferinstance

I believe we are born with what we are. If Nature has edited us that is not our fault, or anyone else's.
God creates and once we figure out ourselves there are also more ways now that has some divinity in it wo
match hormones to body. I may be going out on a limb here in how I am expressing this. My apologies for any
unwitting problems.

No matter gender or anything else we are created by a loving Creator who provides us with ways to achieve many things.
If all are acceptable all are acceptable. We cannot alter, or change that. God Creator is Love.

In thinking of breast cancers, men can have that too, and I, who have lost both, can still get it. I know hospitals may think we are not at risk, but my cracker jack surgeon knows better. She will see me every year for life to check.

I am happy we have doctors that will make it good for any who need that. It must not be an easy thing to contemplate,
and I thank God we have progressive medical people.

With topics like theze, we're at the forefront of terminology...still trying to figure out what means what etc.

In discussions we can come closer to grokking with fullness someone else and also things like what exists independently of us, what is contingent upon what, and when we know, then we can try to make policy to navigate this very complex reality and avoid the horrors that can come from error.

And we can find out how people think and what they think and what they believe and share in their experiences. All invaluable. And I am still honoured to have xperienced a bit of that with my fellow convivial sentients here.
