I hope it doesn't ruin the taste of applesauce for you.
I had strep throat as a child and had to chew the pills because they were too big for my sore throat to swallow. I took each one with a handful of raisins and couldn't eat raisins for years without being reminded of the foul taste of those pills. Ick!
I recall something - prednisone maybe? being opened up and mixed into pudding. I was really young at that point. I recall trying to eat around all the icky stuff. I do remember disliking certain flavours of puddings for a while as an older kid, could be why.

I did get great at swallowing pills - throat swelling, strep throat, quite young. So many dosages only come as liquids though, and many doctors only prescribe liquids for kids, even if the right pill dose is available. I got good at remembering to ask if a pill option was possible!

I have a cold in my nose. Youngestson just heated up a bowl of chicken soup.

Coughed so hard today, gagging on gross stuff that I was sick to my stomach.

Thankful the are generally over wuick

My mother had to give us all worm medicine when I was about 11. I remember that she decided to mix it into pop: coke.

So instead of having to swallow a small amount of medicine , we had to drink a whole glass. Disgusting

Last winter I had a doozie of a cold. I did the Vick's vaporub on my feet with cotton sock trick and I could not believe how much it helped! A friend tried and it didn't help her. I hate sleeping with socks on - apparently it is just to protect your bedding.

Feel better!

One should always be better felt across time and space ... separation make the heart ...

@Justme

Thus thumpers in the Black Forest? They scare the residents ... sometime just part ridge ... a boid in action at Christmas? You might even exhume a song about winter pastimes ... lo RDs and ladies and all that Jazzes the po' folk ... pagans to the elite .. thus denied as unneeded detailing? Short shafts like the people bean seered by SEARS? The burn continues and life is really a hell ova place to learn about authority and corruption ... stuff they can't see from inside the Circe ... when observed by the exited host .. something resembling a Circus?

I am thankful that i was able to spend a day snuggled up on the couch snoozing watching tv. Achoo! achoo!
Thinking of friends and family who have same bug, and are working through it.

Oddly, i have almost always bit my nails. Extreme nail biting.
Once again, randomly, I have quit biting nails. Never have figured this one out. Just seem to quit.

Sorry about your flu. I know it can be miserable.

Nail biting - I wish I could magically look down at my nails and see that I had stopped biting them. -- but then, just becoming aware of it would probably start me back again. I hope it works well for you this time.

Hard frost today. I guess I will finally rip up the remaining flowers in my flower gardens. I couldn't do it before....They were still blooming and looking beautiful! It'll have to wait though...Today, I help my husband build a little woodshed at our shore property. Last week I helped put in the poles, and I did my version of a pole dance: I packed the soil around the pole with a shovel and then my feet. Dance, dance, dance.

Thus up she goes ... the sentient parts ... upstanding ... in mind that sapiens ... many are blind to the icons and signs as Aye or I-mon ...

I hope @Seeler isn't having more medication problems.

How are you feeling @Seeler

With the reduced (less than half) the prescribed dose of my new medicine I am not feeling the severe side-effects. And I feel that there may be some improvement in my movements. In time I ((and my doctor) will have to evaluate it, decide if it is right for me, whether I should increase to the recommended doseage, etc and so on.

Sorry to hear about the difficulties Seeler...but you are certainly mentally strong: I enjoyed listening to your sermon. And...you keep beating me in Scrabble!

Nancy - you are a worthy opponent in Scrabble - always a challenge. I play with several other WC members (or former members) and it's always enjoyable. One seems to beat me 9 times out of 10 - even when I get a strong start.

I'm flattered that you listened to my sermon, Nancy. I've had great feedback. I'd be interested in your opinion as a fellow LLWL . Perhaps you could send me a private messaage, and be honest in your critique.

Today is my middle child's bithday. While I wish for a closer realtionship I acknowledge that we saw each other in person this year and that I sometimes get a response to my e-mails.
Last night I was feeling a bit blue, the birthday and a very busy wook week where I feel about 4 days behind, an unkind remark by a collegue :

and so on my facebbok account was a post that said "Listen to this song if you are having a bad day". It was great-it talked about hitting a line drive not a home run but still moving forward" and as a bonus the singer was my grade 7 crush!

Beautiful song - thanks Tabitha. Wishing you a day of happier memories from days gone by and hopes for continued reconciliation journey for the two of you. Blessings.

I can only imagine how tough the space must be. I looked for your posts when I came back to WC2 wondering how the kids were doing. Your love shines through here in a real way. I hope, on this the day you gave birth, that the positive changes continue.

Lost my old cat, Eliot (named after Elizabeth Sands, whose pen name was George Eliot) today. She was 21 or 22 or something very elderly, and she'd clearly been going gently downhill for several years, but she still ate, eliminated, purred and vocalized normally, so we let her drift into extreme old age. We was a lovely cat in her prime - a chocolate point Ragdoll with very bright blue eyes, and a very "persistent" voice. I think she was waiting for me to get home after my trip, so that I could put her in her final resting place myself. A quiet little spot next to a large wild rose bush at my old guy's place. As is normal in that neck of the woods, even a small hole produces a decent quantity of rocks, so I have a couple to decorate to mark her resting place.
