I am a very slow knitter, but I finished my fingerless gloves, and I'm just about to start the heel on my first pair of socks on round needles. Had a lesson yesterday; but because the body of the damn things is all rib, they're slow and I hadn't got quite to the heel, so Cat cast on a sample and showed me what I was going to do next, and translated the pattern in my head for me from three needles to round. Irritated with the pattern after all this rib, and also not thrilled with the 'commercial' yarn I bought, I'm forcing myself to finish them before I decide exactly what I will do (small shawl or cowl?) with the beautiful Ontario hand-dyed merino I found at one of my sister's favourite wool shops (it's primarily a gorgeous fuschia, but there's some turquoise, some scarlet).
