I will make this commitment ..... I will face my entertainment prejudice and actually watch an episode.
I will try and keep an open mind but I will cover it carefully with a hat just in case LOL

I haven't had many other than a few friends who are looking forward to seeing it.

No argument. The book was awful. I joked that brains cells died while I was reading it. I hadn't planned on reading it, but then several of my friends read, and loved, the book and encouraged me to read it as well.

In the end I am not sure if I'll see the film. Several girlfriends want to go and I get out infrequently so I might go just for the fun outing. This is one of the rare situations where the movie will likely be better than the book.

I don't actually watch the attack scenes. I generally hide under a blanket since, I agree, they are gruesome. I do like the adventure story, though.

We often have family dinner conversations about the best place to live after the zombie apocalypse. Where would we go? What would our strategy be? And so on.
 
...I must add to that.....

My husband's response to the conversation is usually. ...... "I am thinking that after the zombie apocalypse, statistically speaking, we're likely zombies".
 
I have some family members where it will be hard to tell DaisyJane LOL
And I am sure they feel the same about me :)

Zombies. Are. Awesome. I too love The Walking Dead. My kids gave my this awesome mug for Christmas with "If Daryl dies we Riot" on the front. It has a crossbow handle. It is quite fantastic.

The only catch now that TWD has returned for the second half of the season is that it is on directly opposite Downton Abbey. I have to PVR one and watch the other most Sundays.

I also enjoyed the first season of "Z Nation." A little bit lighter than Walking Dead, but still good zombie fun! Zombies rule DaisyJane!

Saw that on Netflix and was wondering since I hadn't heard as much buzz about it as WD.
 
I made the mistake of reading 50 Shades of Grey. Actually I only read about ten pages of it and then brought it back to the library. I will not be watching it on the big screen but will probably get it from the library since it will be free. It will probably take five years before it gets to the library but I can wait. I will be going with my wife and two kids to watch the new SpongeBob movie but I can't say I am overly thrilled to be watching this movie on the big screen also. Maybe I am just too darn cheap but why spend $50 at the show when you can wait for it to be an old release and rent it for $2.:rolleyes:

SpongeBob may actually rank below 50 Shades on my to see list (which is rather like getting kicked into a lower pit of Hell). In fact, I don't think there is anything out right now that I am especially interested in. Saw a trailer for The Man from UNCLE last night and, while I'm usually skeptical of screen remakes of old TV shows, I rather liked what I saw. Of course, it could be one of those "all the best bits are in the trailer" movies. :rolleyes: However, that's a summer release so a few months off. Then in the fall, we have new Bond and new Star Wars.

Oh great now I get to look forward to Fifty Shades of SpongeBob! I just can't wait.:eek:

@DaisyJane - that kind of goes with my families conversation that places me as the first one to be lost ....based on their analysis of each individuals skills.... sigh.
 
(The next movie the fam and I will go see is probably SpongeBob. My Mom wants to see it - as does my youngest son.)
