CH, I think there are others who are missing, just based on the numbers. I haven't noticed Somegalfromcan and SG. Maybe they are here under a different name, or I just missed them. I think SnP said he wasn't coming. What about GO?
 
That's where he seemed to be leaning. Not sure about the others who haven't shown up. There are some new user names and I'm not clear on which ones (save Arm changing to his real name) are new folks and which are old friends with new user names.

Maybe I misinterpreted a post of his, or just remembered it incorrectly. I don't think he directly said he wouldn't be here. I don't read enough R&F threads to know for sure.

Maybe Jesus will come and post for a while :)
 
I think SNP said he would come. Go is still over at WC holding til the last minute and then she will be here.
Somegalfromcanada met Pinga yesterday. I hope Stevie comes but I don't know.
 
I like to think of it like a physical move of the ole cafe to a new cafe. A more modern building with a change management but, for the most part, the same clientele.

Silence held . . .

The past is past . . .

On to the new . . . and looking forward to meeting new friends, having new discussions, and listening to new opinions and thoughts.

(One more "past" thought . . . when I went back on my computer late this morning and saw that wondercafe had closed (not able to post on LAST one more time ;)) my thoughts quickly went to a sadness in my being that my UCC has missed the boat on this one). Well, I guess they had the boat at one time, but let it sink).
 
But now . . . onward and upward . . . looking forward to interesting days ahead here on this wonderful wondercafe2!

They didn't let it "sink", they passed their lease to the public sector.
 
I hear what you are saying, Neo, but in my mind, they let the fellowship and community of wondercafe sink, that was linked to the UCC . . .

Everyone has their own thoughts on how it was handled. Personally, I'm glad it's out of their hands because they really weren't putting any development into it. From a technological standpoint, it was a dinosaur of a forum upon launch, and only became more so. It seemed supported and promoted when I came (2009, I think?) but soon after became far less talked about. People mentioned that attitudes at Wondercafe were not indicative of what they found in actual United churches. McDonald's prides itself on having food that is the same no matter what McDonald's you're in. The UCCan allows, and almost promotes diversity of belief. Well, some corners of the UCCan does. Others are going for more uniformity.

Everyone knows I think that open discussion of faith does not benefit churches, and I understand that some in the UCCan agree with me. I think Aaron once said that. This move puts that division within the UCCan, at least, to rest. We, the community that came from the Wondercafe experiment, can carry it forward, independently, with no one looking over our shoulders.
 
And I think you have (all of you) done a wonderful job, chansen . . . I love the site, I love the features you have added, I love the look of it . . . and so far, I love the "feel" . . . there is an excitement, a vibe, and a feeling of newness . . . it is A-1!
