It's not his job to arbitrarily play Robin Hood with public funds - nevertheless, as for this mistake, I'd rather he'd be erring on the side of helping youth with the chance to have brighter futures, and giving volunteers a stipend (that's not unheard of for some volunteer projects - they weren't getting a livable income), than giving big tax breaks to rich people and slashing social welfare spending.

Tax breaks to the advantaged are necessary ... just to maintain positions ... or creep further up in the hubris theory! Thus it befalls us through uncontrolled desire (an emotion sans intelligence) ... gritty ...

It is said you can get diseases from ancient desert sans ... thus face coverings become a stoic decision ... like filtering ragweeds ...
 
Once again,nailing Trudeau will solve nothing. This corruption has a long history with both Conservatives and Liberals in Canada. We have to make a radical change in the whole political structure. Dumping Trudeau for a Conservative leader is simply a waste of time.
 
It won’t solve anything to discover how corrupt he is

but it is a lot of money that appears to be rather casually doled out to pals

he is so good at apologies and because he is a popular charismatic person, no one will care And he will learn once again, that do whatever you want but apologize when you get caught

One must maintain the filthy rich ... and chase the dream ... it is protocol of success ... no losers allowed as they are shameful for letting winners walk all over them for support.

Life does have its ups and downs ... hubris morphs! Picture Trump in an image after losing ...
 
As if Harper didn't award contracts to his favourite companies and non profit organizations.

Does anyone happen to know if there was a bidding process (as is normal) for picking an org to oversee the Canada Student Service Grant?
 
In BC under the Campbell and Clark "BC Liberals" (really conservatives in ideology), I know in some areas of contract bidding and proffering, a lot of schmoozing and favouritism happened in the lead up to contract awards. Absofuckinglutely it did.
 
Here's an idea for schools - encourage 18/19 year olds to consider taking a year off of post secondary and give them a grant for doing some online schooling with kids. I think getting as many people to do their schooling from home/in small groups will be safer for all - including those who do go to school as it keeps the crowding down. I think there are many families with those in high risk groups who don't want their kids at school, but don't have a good alternative option. 1st year classes are also normally huge in university, these young adults could do a smaller course load online as well. There's also skills that can be learned from teaching, even if just helping to direct the online learning.

I don’t have any info on that Kimmio. I am not disputing that governments reward friends but you very casually are tossing out charges. What proof do you have that the Harper government doled out any money to pals, let alone a billion
 
And in todays rendition of our “open and transparent government” the liberals on committee are giving random long speeches to run out the time so there won’t be a vote. So transparent and honest Justin
 
After four hours of random speeches the liberals ran out the clock and adjourned until next week

He did it by gutting social programs and giving big tax cuts to his corporate cronies. He had his own SNC Lavalin scandal that Conservatives forgot about but the groundwork was already laid for what Justin did. He hired shady people to do a lot of his work for him and he shut out the press. He prorogued government at least a couple of times to avoid transparency.
 
Harper was worse than Trudeau. He didn't just give financial breaks to his friends while slashing social budgets, defunding science, muzzling scientists and detractors, boosting big oil, putting terrifying efforts into fortifying our surveillance state with sneaky omnibus bills, arms contracts with Saudis, racist profiling, spy palaces, and policies that put the RCMP above the law - not to mention shutting out those in the press who might hold him accountable (he never gave press conferences and he tightly controlled who was allowed to ask him questions) - he also had an alter-ego as a closet theocrat doing favours for the End Times evangelicals to help bring about an apocalypse.

But as long as the economy worked well for rich conservatives, even if they were not religious, they didn't say boo about it.
