I stepped into that smelly turd on my writing board once. Never again. My view that the Bomb should never have been invented, let alone used, doesn't fly with a certain crowd there. There is a self-righteous American crowd, not all of them Christian either, who are still convinced that using a doomsday weapon on two cities full of civilians was a better option than an invasion that might have cost them more of their soldiers.
 
Well, that wasn't why the bombs were dropped. It was a warning to Russia which had been preparing a move into northern China. But even that doesn't explain it. Eveyone one in authority knew that Japan was going to surrender in a day or two. It's position was hopeless. The Japanese government knew that well.
So why drop the bomb? That may have been a warning to the world that that U.S. intended to rule the whole world. It was called the American Century. This would be like the British Empire, but far, far bigger. Soon after, they ran the famous Bikini atomic bomb test that killed thousands of people.
Many, probably most, Americans thought that God had destined the U.S. to rule the world.
 
In short Lord Acton's expression on any power to the extreme ... it leads to blindness of one sort or another like alcohol, or ergot compounds in the extreme ... morning glory is binding ... I look forward to rest! Mediocre attribute?

Stop and listen to the eternal ... no end to the curiosity ... and nothing tuwide!
 
All parties now want Trudeau and Morneau to testify before committee. Along with the minister in charge and the civil servants who recommended this idea. In a minority government he has less wiggle room

they have both admitted to breaking the conflict of interest rules, i Think now the question is how did this happen. There are already grants available for summer student jobs. So what was the impetus for this idea

and if it was, as he said thought up by the civil service, who thought it up, run all the other programs but gosh darn it all couldn’t manage this one, then he is ok. However if it gets murkier and he has lied about it that is a different story
 
And now it has been discovered that WE hosted a Canada day event in 2017, which they were paid to do, which margaret and Justin both spoke. And which WE at the time said the PM asked them to host

and then they made that lovely campaign video for justin Nice pay back

he has apologized but I don’t think this is going away. There is a very cozy relationship between the liberal party, the Trudeau family, his supporters and WE.
 
Again, concentrating on Trudeau takes us away from reality. And the reality is that both Liberals and Conservtives have been wildly corrupt. Slappiing Trudeau on the wrist will do nothing about that. Millions of dollars have been handed out to Liberals and Conservatives going back for over a century and a half. And add to that the fact that the Liberals and Conservatives both allow billionaires to hide their money from taxation.
 
I haven't painted Christianity with a brush of any sort. It's position is a very difficult one. I will admit, though, to some concerns about Christians. For some centuries now they have been the most brutal and murderous nations in the world.
 
That isn’t really my point with this thread Graham. I am not looking at government corruption

i am concerned about Trudeau. His is blinded by the silver spoon in his mouth. Again he is up before the ethics commissioner

his routine is set. Make a error, deny he did anything wrong, then apologize for us interpreting that he did something wrong, then be sure to add in that we will all learn something from this, then get a slap on the wrist

i think perhaps this time they will catch him lying, but because parliament is not sitting I am not sure if he has lied about this to parliament or just to the press. And of course that isn’t really lying for a politician
 
And in examining it as you are doing, You are missing the whole point of it. The point is that all leading politicians of both the Liberals and Conservatives have always accepted such money. Almost all election money for those parties, for example, comes from the very wealthy - And that's something more serious than Trudeau's accepting a free helicopter ride. They gave his mother $250,000? Big deal. Find him guilty of that if it makes you feel virtruous. And we can all go on feeling virtuous and not even think about the many billions of dollars spent on Liberal and ConservatIve candidates. It's a mistake, a huge mistake to look just at Trudeau and ignore the bigger picture. You're using a cannon to hunt a mouse.
 
OH, and you are looking at government corruption - but ignoring most of it. Okay. Fry Trudeau. That will not have the slightest effect on the monster corruption of our Liberals and Conservatives.

and front page of the Globe has WE restructuring. Or something.

this charity , that seems to be designed for wealthy kids from wealthy countries to do poverty volunteer/ tourism , is I am sure facing a big backlash from donors who are maybe wondering what is exactly happening
 
There are those that state that the wealthy are not privileged and elite ... and thus pass over unknowing!

When advantaged for a short time it left me on the wrong side and guilty! Please forgive me for knowing excess stuff that is dark to most!
 
And while I recognize I am mostly talking to myself here, I see in The Star, that I fact WE was able to earn more than double the first reported $19 million

one wonders how on earth Trudeau thought this was ok
 
That 45 million dollar fee isn’t the only new news. Also new was that WE suggested this on April 3 or something. Sent in a proposal unasked. Or asked by whom?

and so when Trudeau announced his new plan on April 22 the government already had a proposal from WE Floating around ministries and it seemed simplest and fastest to let them do it. No one seems to have wondered at paying volunteers. No one seems to have wondered at creating new social media jobs for these “volunteers”

does that mean Justin and his buddies Mark and Craig had a chat on the phone about how to help youth and they created a job for themselves that will pay 45 million

i should create that sort of job. Yikes

All powers follow this trend of putting down the lessor or WE folks ... to their eventual detriment ... a fact unseen because of general disbelief in universalism of god and Jesu ... the dark and light enigmas ... as real folk do not gather much ... thus scatter! Expect thought encounters when escaping reality ... flatliners?
