Does much of our uranium go for bombs today, though? Most of the current arsenal uses plutonium as far as I know, which is mostly produced in breeder reactors and similar since it is rare in nature. It's also deadlier (considered one of the most toxic substances on the planet) and brutally difficult to handle safely.
We have plenty of that too from our reactors...I guess the point is we have a history that turns a blind eye to our contribution towards armed conflict that has subconsciously trained us to not want to know exactly what is going on....and the lives that have been ruined because of it.

Now imagine if all those American tough guys had been trained to non-violently talk someone out of hurting people.
They are not violent. Very nice salespeople. I just know as a Canadian, who grew up knowing how to handle myself on the playground, would not stand a chance against any of them in a life or death physical altercation or gunfight.

like they are tigers and we are house cats.

Being a comedian works for Trump....maybe try that.

Are fascists just facetious or carry a remnant of corruption into the game ... as if the thing was just sport?

In return we can sport around with myth to counter the corrupt gospel (said to be truth; considering something is missing)!

Immagine demented voids ...

If one calls the leader and idiot and still follows ...

How does one digest that ... as naivete?

interesting article
Its a great article. I suppose the one thing that stands out for me is that she failed to talk about freedom of religion......democrats endorse that (and some republicans)and fail to realize in some cases the abuser is allowed to continue with the abuse. Some sects of extremist fundamentalism within Christianity and Islamic traditions are examples. Within these frameworks are some denials of basic human rites carried on while laws do not coincide with their beliefs....but in the framework of an evolving democracy, its allowed. Some women are still being subdued and silenced within a patriotic atmosphere.
I don't really have an answer for that without looking like I hate some religion and looking undemocratic. Is there a third choice?

In Jean Edward Smith's biography of George W. Bush, he wrote about what President Bush thought of President-elect Obama during the transition period.
On page 650, it states:
“As part of the presidential transition, Barack Obama asked Bush if it would be possible for him to meet all the ex-presidents. Bush was happy to oblige, and organized a White House luncheon in the Oval Office on January 7. Bush and Obama were joined by Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and George H. W. Bush. The luncheon lasted over two hours, each former president ordered his lunch à la carte from the White House mess, and the tone was convivial and friendly. “All the gentlemen here understand both the pressures and possibilities of this office,” said Obama before the meeting. “For me to have the opportunity to get advice, good counsel and fellowship with these individuals is extraordinary, and I just want to thank the President for hosting us.”
Bush was equally effusive. “We want you to succeed,” he replied. “Whether we're Democrat or Republican we care deeply about this country. And to the extent we can we look forward to sharing out experiences with you. All of us who have served in this office understand that the office transcends the individual.”

Well, some governments, world-wide, are patriarchal, and exhibit misogynist, homophoblic, racist, transphobic properties and laws. Religions pick up this crap from the culture. I think all one can do is "tolerate" such beliefs to the extent that one may argue against the belief while not outlawing the statement of the belief. Where the belief results in action that violates a criminal code, then one prosecutes with the reminder that this result is why the belief might be an unsafe one to put in practice.

And yet the vatican holds its own court sometimes when it comes to pediphiles in the priesthood.

And governments, for whatever reason, let them get away with it. Let's face it, there is no way the Church could protect some of those guys without collusion from the authorities.

Problem is, war seems to profit some people.
World Wars 1 and 2 brought about the death and wounding of millions of young persons on all sides. This while industrialists on all sides made millions manufacturing and selling war machinery. The DuPont family made multiple millions selling gun powder to all sides.

And when some reporter exposes these things, we all read about it in the newspaper, and then flip to the crossword after clucking our tonges.
Its the same when children are starving...tsk tsk.
The UN has become useless and so are we.
Whats the answer?

One by one persons all over the planet are waking up. First our consciousness shifts from a circumstantial to an existential perspective. Then we turn around to walk in a contrary direction. As we mature our creative influence brings fruitful consequence. As our numbers increase coercive power will come into play.

Sorry, but I shudder at the words "coercive power." Coercive power is exactly what gets us into trouble. Cooperative power, people working together in respect, is the power we need. Replacing one coercive power with another just leads to another mess. Look at how quickly the French Revolution turned into a regime as cruel and despotic as the one it replaced. Or how the revolution that initially liberated China turned into the cruelties of the Cultural Revolution.

Jesus is always the answer
Not quite. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. By the Holy Spirit, given in the name of Jesus, by God, we are guided away from the structures of power and into the practice of compassionate inclusion.

There are some who take the name of Jesus in vain. These are conformed to the structures of power by which the earth and its peoples are being destroyed. They ignore the Lord’s Prayer which asks that God enable us to work for the coming kingdom, “on earth as in heaven.” For such persons heaven is available only after death.

Exactly! I understand that a web of cooperation is forming in the earth. When it achieves critical mass, humanity will be offered opportunity to reconsider priority and commitment.
