Trump is freaking out on Twitter about the "big dumps" of Biden votes that came in the mail and how devastating it is for the country (him?). Crying "Stop the mail!" I think he might be losing. I'm enjoying that. I can't help it.

Biden got Wisconsin.

If Biden won Wisconsin, why are the electoral college votes still at 237 (as of this post)?

The AP was reporting them at 238 (out of 270 and dial not moving for hours), for Biden in the wee hours this morning, before I fell asleep. Now I'm seeing 237, Biden winning Wisconsin, and the tally not going up. Am I missing something?

I found that confusing too....this morning I read 224 and 237 for Biden from different sources.
Wisconsin should have added 10.

Last night, I found the Globe, which uses AP's data, was often ahead of CNN in awarding states to both candidates. I think AP probably counted states as won based on their analysis of the votes or exit polls or some such measure even if the state had not actually been declared yet. Or something like that.

Maybe Daddy Vladdy got tired of pulling strings for Trumptydumpty.

Not odd at all that the states that can’t add on election night are swing states run by Democrats.

It's common to keep adding absentee votes the next day. Pennsylvania will keep adding up votes postmarked Nov 3rd. That's been their policy for awhile. Because of covid, more people mailed them in - there's an unprecedented number to count - and the ones who were not going out to vote because they were concerned about their health and safety are mostly predicted to be voting Dem. Also younger people who've turned voting age are a large voting block this time - least likely to vote for Trump. His most popular support was among white people over 65. For decades these same people were the bulk of voters, period. Not anymore. Also, only about 10% of Black voters support Trump and they turned out in bigger numbers, too. Despite efforts by Trump to suppress the vote.

My question is that, should Joe Biden end up with a victory, at least as clear as Trump's in 2016, what should his plan be to reunite the country? Obviously, Trump's plans never seem to include humility and reconciliation.

I read that for many people likely to vote for Trump sited in pre-election surveys - the economy was their main concern. I'm guessing he'll probably reach out to them and try to unite the country around economic policy rather than social issues - for the most part. By Canadian standards, Biden has been right of centre. I can't see him dropping the neoliberal mindset all of a sudden.

O CBC they interviewed a person invoved or in charge of counting votes Pensylvania . Interestingly, she reported that they had cameras filming 24/7 everything in the room as well as body cameras on certain people picking up ballots. They also separated the mail in from the in person votes in case of a court case.

Here are the Ballot certification dates for some important states in an election:
Arizona 11/30
Florida 11/17
Georgia 11/20
Michigan 11/23
Minnesota 11/24
North Carolina 11/24
Ohio 11/24
Pennsylvania 11/11
Texas 12/3

Hopefully those who do take their time with the ballots will have a higher degree of accuracy if challenged.
