Kimmio is so right. Things could be worse. I mean, the U.S. has killed just in the low millions over the past 8 years of obama and hillary. And refugees? a mere 30 million - tops. The U.S. is getting poorer - but there's good news, too. The very rich have been getting much richer.
And perhaps Kimmio could tell us about the tremendous work that Hillary and Trump have been doing to help the American poor, and to bring peace to the world. I mean, American troops all over the globe bringing peace and handing out chocolate bars.
Remember
People do things because they are meaningful to them
For emotional reasons
So even tho Jesus Christ and g_d may have never existed, the concept is important to enough people
Same thing with the Founding Fathers of the USA...mercy n justice n beauty are not aboot facts but feelings n what is deeply meaningful...
Its why we keep on having people die for their country in wars...or why we go to Church...or why we help our fellow human being...even why we love our family...
And so it goes
That's all fine to say unless it ever affects you adversely. They can think it - but promoting racism and bigotry is a different story.
Race Baiting? He is human. I don't see much that's humane in his words and behaviour though - and this is a person being considered for one of the highest, or the highest, leadership role in the world - a leader, figurehead and role model to an entire diverse nation. It's not racist Or bigoted to point out racism and bigotry. That's ridiculous.
to Pr. Jae, and rev DD - Whatever Chicago's attractions might be, the fact remains that it is a cesspool of poverty and racism. It began when free trade deals made it possible for the auto industry to move out and to take advantage of dirt cheap labout in poor countries. Factories closed. residential districts fell into decay, the city could not afford basic servcies, the schools suffered, tens of thousands had their water cut off because they couldn't pay the water tax, levels of violence rose.
A century ago, I'm sure Buckingham Palace and St. James Park were delightful places - as were the mansions of the wealthy of London. That does not alter the fact that the city was a vast slum.
Graeme Decarie said:To Pr. Jae and Kimmio - Whatever virtues Trump and Hillary might have, there is nothing in their public careers that suggests the slightest interest in doing anything to help the American people.
Pr. Jae has convinced me. Trump is the very model of what a Christian should be. I should be honoured to take off his sandals and wash his feet. He wants to keep American strong and heavily armed. And that's exactly the advice we constantly get in the scriptures. The concern that has governed his life is for the poor, the frail. He wants to feed the hungry and feel the sick.
I'm not race baiting. I'm pointing out racism that's uniting a movement around the world that is dangerous and Trump has aligned with aspects of it - the far right. It's happening. Is this guy race bating for discussing racism and admitting it is a problem?Race Baiting?

I am reiterating that injustice and inequality are one and the same.
After all the struggle - there remains a 3-tiered caste system - alive and well and keeping us divided into:
1. Rich Masters ( of all colors and religions)
2. Poor White colors (of all religions)
3. Poor Other colors (of all religions)
All skin colors bleed red.
We are one human race.
The 'class' struggle unites us all.
I identify with that.
The levels of oppression each faces and how far back it goes in America is not the same. And some people deal with multiple levels of bigotry and oppression if they belong to more than one marginalized group.I am reiterating that injustice and inequality are one and the same.

That is one pretty big IF!If there were two average income people running
To ignore the real issues around an election of a POTUS and focus only on the 'words' that you keep on repeating ad nauseum - is the reason that we are all going to go down - divided we fall.To ignore that ignores the problem of xenophobia and bigotry that is very much real. It exists in all "classes" but anyone who is poor and of a marginalized group will be hit harder by it.
Yuppers. You are intent on race-bigotry baiting. It means nothing to me what color or religion or gender a human is so it does not sway my perspective on what is actually happening in the class struggle. Technically, Obama, Clinton and Trump are humans - being in the Rich Master Class.
