Just a few passing thoughts after reading this...

In 2012 they had Romney and Obama, two very well spoken orators. Trump is really not that - it just makes me shake my head and wonder how on earth he got so far, that so many take him seriously, and the world is in this predicament waiting on pins and needles for this election.

But I also read today that Trump is starting to realize he could lose and he's planning a long vacation and to go back to his "very good way of life" if he does. That's a big thing for him to admit. Maybe he'll bow out early. Maybe it's preferable for him. He can save face before losing if he quits. He's not going to "pivot" to a reasonable, reliable message... He's clearly more comfortable being ad-lib, which has the RNC in a tailspin. It sometimes seems like he's asking for an out. What would happen if he dropped out?

Not quite Kimmio. Rather, he just joked on a conservative radio show that if he wasn't elected he'd take a nice long vacation.

Trump is clearly mentally ill, so I wrote his daughter and asked her to do an intervention. Here is my open letter to Ivanka: http://michaelmoore.com/DearIvanka/ --- Read and Share!

An Open Letter to Ivanka Trump from Michael Moore: “Your Dad's Not Well”
Every day he continues his spiral downward – and after his call for gun owners to commit acts of violence against Mrs. Clinton, it is clear he needs help, serious help. His comments and behavior have become more and more bizarre and detached from reality. He is in need of an intervention. And I beli...

If Michael Moore's letter was serious he should've stayed away from the jokes slagging her dad, though. He was scoring popularity points for himself. If he wanted to pen a serious letter with some clout, he could've done it privately. It is her dad, so she is one person I can understand feeling defensive on his behalf.

From Dictionary.com:
narcissist
noun
1. a person who is overly self-involved, and often vain and selfish.

I would say Trump fits. Remember that he claims that he understands ISIS better than the US military, that only he alone can fix the problems he sees...

At teh same time, I suspect a degree of narcissism is needed to run for an office such as POTUS

I agree...a person would have to have a degree of narcissism, which is different from full blown Narcisistic Personality Disorder. It's a lot like he's in a permanent manic state and just has no boundaries.

What I don't understand is why Trump is not being attacked by the Religious Right for being an atheist?

The guy is clearly no Christian. I have no desire to claim him as an atheist, but I'd have to admit he probably is one. Moreover, if he worships anything, he worships himself. That's exactly the charge many Christians level at atheists in general, and while I disagree, here is a shining example they could point to, and instead they embrace him like one of their own. I really don't understand it.

They've come to confuse their church/ religion with the Republican (Tea) Party. So, anything the party does is "Christian" and anything that comes from liberal/ dems is anti-Christian. It's tribal. Not sure it has much to do with faith.

Trump is a mainline Christian, a Presbyterian. His favorite book of the Bible is 2 Corinthians.

Why?
Perhaps because he is that good of a Persuader?
