TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

After he completely made up a bizarre story about seeing the money in the video and what the video was of, then repeated the story several times to crowds - even repeated it after it was debunked. So, he was either lying or confused (by watching Fox - it's always someone else's fault so it's Fox News' fault now). Telling tales he made up off the cuff - over and over - or confused...neither are good presidential qualities.

He has wisely and boldly stepped forward to admit his honest mistake.

An honest mistake would be if he mentioned it in casual conversation, someone corrected him, and he admitted that he hadn't been paying close enough attention, and moved on. In this case he concocted a story about what he saw, built parts of his campaign speeches around it, and repeated it several times, even after it being debunked.

It is good that he admitted it was a mistake but I still think he's lost a lot of voters permanently because he makes up stories.
Even if they get him back on message for awhile - it's tough to say if it'll hold - or if he can hold to it. He's shown his true self no matter if he does or not.

Politics makes strange bedfellows ... and once in ABBA'd state can an authority admit wrong?

There is potential ... but the opposing potential is greater ... thus the creative satyrs confined god's image to earth to see if the images could resolve their situation!

No luck yet! The dark side is still filtering ... like stray thoughts in the san 'ð ... virtue all grits? Ares bound they can erode piles of BS ... in Celt tradition this is Eire as Cronkite stated: You Are There ... what are you to do about that which is beyond your control as avarice creeps as the leading goal of success ... Jae's IDe-aL image of Theos, Deos and Deis light in a dark container ... some of these need a knock about to crack eM ...

Does Jaerd appear in the holy script, as a story with parts missing? Satyr is the essence of the myth ... a haunting non-thingy!

Hairy attribute sent to temp man to think before jumping in to wit? When polity is not witty!

Aerie, and hairy things are a temptation .. consider sole a' mons chaos ... dirty brain storm?

Some rain will clear the air ... so chi does ... the roué's that defies his tendencies ... be witching ends as another dore ration ... once opened ... something will come of ID ... as the primal succubus ... a dark thing unseen in the rush ...

As the emotions sloe ... one begins to think until resting as a pure thought in another's sole ... the continuum of haji?

Such things do go on ... sometimes as an open arrangement by people of power ... while the little people are prone to husbandry ... go'd breeding or well-bread? Dey east needs watering too ... as a haute bed of emoticons ... only icons of the essence they are ...

Hillary needed Bill. His presidency opened doors for her. And remember - it's no secret that the defence and oil industries have made her a super-wealthy woman. They have also given her the biggest campatign budget in history. They aren't doing it because they like her religious values or her dresses. History is full of women who stuck with sleazy husbands for their own advancement. It's very, very common. As well, when those industries give out billions to help candidates fight campaigns, they aren't doing it to demand better treatment for the poor. Watch for Hillary to continue wars for the oil industry. Watch for her to continue being buddies with the Saudis.
As well, the Obama regime was, like the Bush one, a regime of constant war He is now bombing Libya to create more refugees and make the oil industry happy. He was assigned special ops to murder environmentalists in South American, thus making mining companies happy. And Hillary has been with him every step of the way. She voted to cut food stamps to free up money for the defence history.
For pr., Hillary has said mean things? That's an important factor in voting for her? Right. And she never dances nude on stage.Trump hasn't gotten people killed, been involved ini sexual assaults or threatened national security? Neither have I. Neither has most of the population of the U.S. This is the best you can say of a candidate for the presidency?
(To the best of my knowledge, Hitler was never unfaithful to Eva Braun. Would you vote for him?) I would not count endorsing either McCain or Ryan. Both are paid off by the oil and defence industries. As well, he had to endorse them or see his campaign disappear.
And his campaign is back on track? I have seen no sign of that.
Look. The U.S. political system is rotten with corruption. It is going to destroy that country sooner or later - and almost certainly sooner. The wealthy don't pay taxes. As a result, schools are a shambles, health care is deadfully expensive and inefficient, Americans have murdered at least six or seven million in the last 50 years to please industry. It has created horrible working conditions at barely surivial wages all over South America and Africa and Asia. Check out your underwear. It's likely from Bangladesh where women work long hours and low pay in such dangerous conditions that death on the job is common. Many of those companies.
Investors do NOT create prosperity for others. The British Empire creates poverty, misery and death all over the world. So has every empire. It also created horrible poverty and suffering in Britain. Read some history.
Humans can be far, far more greedy and murderous than we realize - though we watch it every day.

Government must be the only body of service that doesn't require a signed contract with a specific plan to be fulfilled after the people have chosen someone to do the job.

Thus powerful bo' rock ... racy ... just before it strikes you between the eye's ... like the phi Li'st ein fell and the vessel-like crypt was cracked ... Jaerd?

Leaders similar to Donald Trump...

Alexander the Great --- Winston Churchill --- Theodore Roosevelt --- Andrew Jackson --- Franklin D. Roosevelt --- John F. Kennedy --- George W. Bush --- Lyndon B. Johnson.

Leaders similar to Donald Trump...

Alexander the Great

In what way?

Alexander was one of the most brilliant generals in history, which Trump certainly is not.

Alexander charged into battle with his men. Trump is unlikely to do so (heel spurs, dontcha know).

Alexander was nonetheless also highly educated, with Aristotle as one of his teachers. Definitely not Trump.

Alexander was quite narcissistic and full of hims... okay I think I've got my answer.

Same comment as on your post in the Clinton thread. It is an interesting way to look at it, though.

Politics doesn't mean just the ability to do a job. Politics means having a moral code that defines what the job is that has to be done - and to do it in accord with that moral code. I don't know of a political party that does that. And for all that Americans call on God to bless America, I don't see much sense of any moral code at work there.
Religion is often chosen not by any principles but by a desire to conform and to be accepted. That's why you see religions around the world settled in great blocs.
Just caught up on Pr's latest absurdity. Alexander the Great was a professional killer. George W. Bush, as head of the CIA, oversaw the murders of some 300,000 Guatemalan civilians (including large number of Christian clergy) in order to made the survivors obedient slaves of Canadian and American mining companies.
Winston Churchill is a much-exaggerated figure. He commanded an immense following due to his flow of words. But his judgement was so bad that the British army kept its most intelligent general in London for the whole war to keep an eye on Churchill.
Roosevelt set up the war the Japan. He wanted a war because he wanted the U.S. to inherit the European empires in Asia. To get the Japanese to start it, he cut off its oil supply from the U.S. That's why, on the day of Pearl Harbour, he didn't also declare war on Europe. He didn't give a damn what happened to Europe or to Britain. In fact, It was Hitler who declared war on the U.S;. Three weeks AFTER Pearl Harbour.
He also told the French not to liberate French Indo-China (Vietnam), and told the British not to liberate Hong Kong.. When the French defied him, and sent a destroyer to Hanoi, Roosevelt ordered it to be bombed. The British defied him, too. But it's Pacific fleet to was to big to play games with. So the British did take Hong Kong - giving it control of the China trade. Eventually, the French took Vietnam - but the Vietnamese chased them out. John F Kennedy used that to send in American troops for imperial conquest - and they got chased out.
Both Eisenhower and Kennedy used the post war period to take over dominance of the middle east from Britain and France. That's why ISIS now exists.
Lyndon johnson? He was as slimy at they come. What great thing did he do?
And what did Andrew Jackson do?

It justifies looking for the good in him.

Let's celebrate the imago Dei in everyone.

RitaTG, I've decided to take the optimistic high road of looking for the good in everyone. If you choose to take the low road of being critical, of buying into the biased media's words about Trump, that's your choice.

Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were created in the image of God. Both are loved by God. The same goes for me. And you. And everyone who's posted on this thread. And Hitler. etc., etc. It is equally true that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

OK, we're all created in the image of God and loved by God. Everyone's equal in that respect. We're all less than we should be. Everyone's equal in that respect, too. So, now, we have to deal with the question of policies and actions and behaviours and words.

That's where equality breaks down, and every person has to be looked at as an individual. Jae, you accuse people of attacking Trump or being mean-spirited toward him, or whatever, when in fact by his own words he has demonstrated himself to be promoting misogynistic, racist and xenophobic views. He has demonstrated childishness and vindictiveness and lack of self-control.

And please don't say "Source?" You know this as well as I do. So do the various Republicans and other conservative commentators who have refused to support him because of these very things, some of whom have endorsed Hillary Clinton.

You say you want to look for the good in everyone. That's commendable. But, from my perspective, Trump's negatives far outweigh his positives. Clinton's may as well. As I've said many times I think the Americans have a terrible choice between these two. I think Clinton's the better choice, but in all honesty that's not saying much.

Oh, yeah. jackson took part in the War of 1812 when American armies murdered Canadians. Forgive me for not clapping.
He was also one of the greatest mass-murderers of native peoples, and he was pro-slavery.
He also recognized Texas as an American state.
At the time, what we now call Texas and it's region was part of Mexico. Hordes of American slave traders and slave owners and land speculators rushed in to steal land and sell slaves. Mexico intervened because slavery was against -Mexican law. That's why it attacked the Alamo with its defenders such as Davey Crockett, an Indian killer and slave trader. Jackson's recognition of Texas as a state was part of a murerous land grab.
Yeah. I guess he is like Donald Trump.
Do you have any great stories about some of your outstanding parishioners?

Tiny fact check time. Pearl Harbor was on December 7, 1941 and Germany declared war on the United States on December 11, 1941. That's four days later, not three weeks.
Not quite tiny
It is these tiny facts that then contributes further down the logic chain to Major statements that Graeme makes
Ty for the fact checking :3

RevDD is quite right. I'm sorry. I don't know where I got the idea it was the end of December. I have a vague memory of seeing that date somewhere many years ago.
However, the point remains that the U.S. did not declare war on Germany. It didn't care about Europe, then or for most of WW1, either. It wanted its own empire - and if that destroyed Europe - tough. That is still its goal to this day. That's what the turmoil in the middle east is about. That's what NATO is about.
And, for ambassador to Britain in the war, Roosevelt chose a man named Kennedy - a former bootlegger and gangster on a huge scale with such an appetite for women that he used to bring his girl friends home noisily make love to them even when his family and guests were there. While in Britain, he used his position to ransack the British business world, and make himself even richer.
His son, John F, was very much like his father.
Pre., have you ever delivered a sermon on John F to your congregation? There are some pretty zippy possibilities.
