Pontiflex. I sent you many, many cases of the behaviour of mining companies. You ignore them all to concentrate on the eldest example.

The dead, Pontifllex, are dead. And not all your spinning can bring them back to life. But it doesn't matter because you will never see anything but your own prejudices.

Bet you a) don't known what a company union is or
b) you twist it to mean something else.

I worked in the mines for 20 some years.
I worked only two years with Inco in Thompson. Father worked there much longer. When costs began to diminish profits Inco began backing out. Thompson and its citizens were left with the short end of the stick. A common story in Canada as elsewhere.

Forests used to be harvested and processed by New Brunswick labour. Till the cost of wages diminished profits. Mills across the province were shut down and labourer’s left with no way to support their families. In some cases their pensions were taken from them.

Don’t be such a baby - 200,000 dead and 40,000 missing(dead) in Guatemala is not a mining story. It’s a civil war story.

Guatemala was not a civil war. - and I rather doubt you know what a civil war is. It was also done with close, American cooperation through the CIA then run by George Bush Sr. Gee! I wonder why the U.S. cooperated?

Oh, it was the native people of Guatemala who had to be murdered because they were all environmental fanatics lacking Pontiflex's insights to the folly of protecting the environment. Men, women and children were murdered indiscriminately.

And, Pontiflex, you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

So children in the United States are being forcibly taken from their parents and in one case put into an old Walmart warehouse being used as a detention centre where they get fed and "educated." I'm hoping that the quality of the education they receive is not commensurate with the first thing they see when they enter the centre: a picture of Donald Trump with a quote attributed to him (sometimes by losing the battle you win the war) - how that's remotely relevant to these kids is beyond me - that isn't even original to Donald Trump. This is now the United States of America? But hey - the stock market's doing we'll. As long as the rich folk are making lots of money it's great with the Trump cult - well, "base" I mean. If the Leader does it, it must be good.

For decades the US has proclaimed Canada and Western Europe their best and closest friends and allies and North Korea and Russia among their greatest enemies and adversaries. Now Canada and Europe get insulted and vilified, while Trump cozies up to the dictators in Pyongyang and Moscow. "We are at war with Oceania. We have always been at war with Oceania." If the Leader says it, it must be true.

I watch the Trump cult - which includes more than a few here in Canada - and it's almost terrifying. As soon as he says something it's fact. If he changes his mind and says something else, that's the new fact. If FOX News or Breitbart report something it's fact. If anyone else reports something to the contrary it's fake and anyone who doesn't toe the Trump/FOX/Breitbart line is "brainwashed." There is no thinking anymore.

I've spent a fair bit of time in the US over the years (spent over 11 years living a half hour or less from the border, crossing frequently, and after 18 months with Trump as president I have trouble even recognizing the country anymore. And that's not a compliment.

And...
That is more fake news. Almost had me there.

Inside Casa Padre, the converted Walmart where the U.S. is holding nearly 1,500 immigrant children

And what's "fake" about it?

Kids are being taken from their parents, they're being put into camps - or whatever you want to call them - they're being given food and education and in the case in Texas they're greeted by a fake quote from Donald Trump - who simply tweeted something in 2014 that goes back a long way before that. So - what's "fake" about any of that?

Kids are being taken from their parents who are breaking the law. I am sure that happens in Toronto too.

These camps have been running since 2014 - Donald is not the source.

The camps seem more humane than to let the children run loose and become victims of child sex trafficking.

But you have a better idea, I am sure.

The precedent for this is that for most of the same people, if it's in the Bible it's fact. Not thinking and just accepting something on self-professed authority, and making that a good thing, is what religion does. This is Christianity in action.
