Ummm ... what kind of brownies would these be? I might have to come along too ...

And yes ... why no LIKE buttons on this thread??
What kind of brownies ....... perhaps a recipe I have never yet tried ;)
Maybe that would keep chansen mellow

Saw this on FB (it's from The Advocate but I saw it when the CUC shared it):

My neighbour tells me that when she was hiking in Europe and staying in hostels, unisex bathrooms were standard. The first time she was standing by the sink washing her hands and a man walked in and used the urinal she was somewhat surprised - but she just kept her eyes to herself, continued on with washing and drying her hands as he finished and walked out. In a surprising short time she got used to it. Apparently in her experience everybody simply tended to his or her own business - no problem.

It surprise me that unisex washrooms would have urinals that are not in private stalls. I suppose the option would be there to use a stall if one preferred.

That's an excellent idea Carolla. I wish they would do that.

One of the comments on that picture was precisely that there were a lot of unisex washrooms in Europe that they generally just had private stalls, not open urinals.

Mendalla ..... thank you for the sign...... and it is right on.....
The thing is that here in North America we have such a huge male / female segregated installed base of bathrooms that it is going to be incredibly hard and take a very long time to adopt a more sane and laid back european model.
In the meantime ..... I have to choose one or the other...... I need to pee now....
My choice is based on MY identity ... How does another person become the gatekeeper and have the authority to examine and determine where I get to go?? ....... I have the pee pee wiggles ..... out of my way please ..... I need to go now.....
If you don't like it ..... wait ... or find somewhere else for yours..... otherwise .... suck it up princess and use another stall.
I hope that sums up my approach :)

A very good article Jae.......
And a very good example of what happens without proper psychiatric care and screening.
I agree .... all the outward stuff one can do will never make the heart what it is not.
One does not build a woman from the the outside in ...... this is what I caution others on.
The proper way ..... we do not embark on HRT to "become" a woman. We do so because we ARE a woman.
Even more so for SRS (the surgery)....
Now .... how often are mistakes like this made ....
Less that 1% of those obtaining SRS regret doing it.
Quite a success rate isn't it? ..... peer reviewed by the way ..... easy to find....
I feel for the person in this article ...
Misdiagnosed .... improperly treated .... it should not have been....
His treatment dates back to over 30 years ago.
Psychiatric care has progressed incredibly during this time and cases like this are going to become much more rare.
Studies clearly show that the suicide rate drops from 43% down to 1% with the full HRT and SRS treatment.
The general population has a suicide rate in the 2% range for comparison.

There are two main reasons for SRS regret.
1. Rushing and circumventing the psychiatric screening and care regime. Some are convinced that physical changes will somehow make for internal changes. Proven not to work and carefully screened for.
2. Other factors, such as in this case, being confused with an actual fundamental gender identity disparity.
Once again ... very carefully screened for .... I have been through that wringer a number of times.
So ..... I feel sorry for this man that the entire issue was misdiagnosed and mismanaged.
I wish him well on his journey to recovery.
But the point remains .... for those of us that have a real valid vetted gender identity issue that living as the gender our hearts are ... and with the assistance of HRT and SRS .... this is the best possible path forward with our true selves and our true lives.

Typical of Senator Plett .......
This is what happens when fear ..... unfounded unreasonable fear trumps facts.
There are no facts that will convince such a person.
Senator Plett has done what Prime Minister Harper has told him to do.
This bill will die with the upcoming election.
The chamber of sober second thought ...... hmmmmmmm......
I will be out there this election cycle challenging the candidates about this.
