I have entered churches on...I might just be able to get this exact...
1 trying to impress a Catholic girl in high school (she was mad I made jokes about the bread)
2 cousin's wedding (wife tried to dig raised heel into my foot when I make wisecracks)
3 4 5 meeting, practice and our actual wedding (Anglican, told them I was an atheist, grandfather a major donor, so no problem)
6 Catholic baptism of some kid on wife's side I never see (wife dug heel into foot again)
7 8 9 10 funerals on wife's side
11Catholic baptism of nephew (performed, so far as I could tell, by Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip - more heel imprints)
12 United Church funeral on wife's side

...a dozen occasions. At least. No lightning bolts.

My wife gets to do that. If you put your foot down, you'd never find mine. It's a skill I developed while being bullied a lot. It's just about impossible to stomp on my feet.

And no, I would not bring her along. If I'm doing this, I'd need more freedom than she'd give me, or else it wouldn't be worth it.
