I am missing having the "like" button on this thread ... lots to like lately. Rita - all the best to you as you prepare for your travels. Will you be online while in Thailand? How long will you be away? I hope you will have some good company to support you on your journey. Bon voyage!!

I will be online and I will try and post here from time to time...
I will be away from Feb 14th to Mar 13th.
There is a lot of surgery recovery time in there and all worth it.
Psychologically this is proving to be quite different than I had imagined :)
 
Yes - you certainly want to be well healed before travelling home, from any surgery at all! Might was well recover in beautiful Thailand - the weather is friendlier than home at this time of year I imagine!!

Lots of change - lots of adjustment. Psychological aspects of change are always interesting, and often surprising to us - at least in my own experience.

Go in peace and know that you are loved and never alone Rita. (y)
 
I too wish this thread had like buttons. All the best with your surgery @RitaTG May you have a speedy and smooth recovery. I hope this surgery is all you hope it to be.

Rita. Just in case you are reading this thread, wanted to thank-you for the wisdom you shared with me the other week.
I had the opportunity to channel some of your wisdom on Sunday, and I think it helped.

My congregation prayed for your speedy recovery from surgery. And your courage for making such a big, important change to increase your quality of life!

That IS awesome - well done. I've been thinking about Rita this week ... hoping all will go well for her.
 
We sometimes have a congregational prayer time where prayer requests are taken from the floor.

Other times we don't do that as we have a full schedule in our worship service. The pastor will just pray for us all.

Today, because we had a baptism, it was the latter situation. There was not an opportunity for me to request prayer for Rita.

She's hoping to have an extra nice hole I'm sure :)
The whole shebang will probably be developed by an artist...
(its a fascinating procedure...she most likely will also have to be on HRT for her entire lifespan and will have to regularly make sure her new hole doesn't naturally seal up by use of special dilation equipment...)
Herez hoping the end result is flexible and sensitive enough and no complications :rolleyes:

No one ever said transition was easy but if anyone can manage it, I would imagine it would be Rita.

i have faith in Rita yes i do
lots involved than just the surgery
had an old computer bud describe her m t f experience as having to stab her wound repeatedly until hole stopped trying to heal (more milquetoast word is stenosis...)
much more interesting times indeed
very character building
