HOW DOES SOMEONE TODAY BLASPHEME THE HOLY SPIRIT?

How Does Someone Today Blaspheme the Holy Spirit?

. People today are not in the same situation as when Christ was physically present.

2. Today one blasphemes the Holy Spirit by rejecting the ministry of the Holy Spirit that speaks of Christ.

3. Thus the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is the state of unbelief in Christ as Savior. It is more of a continuing and persistent rejection of the Holy Spirit than one particular sin.

4. The only way to avoid the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is to turn to Christ for forgiveness.
And with this you reject Jesus'words in Mathew Mark and Luke that the unpardonable sin is forever unforgivable?

My thoughts are that everyone who goes to hell has committed the unforgivable sin. They are unforgiven. It is not a difficult thing to do. chansen has succeeded. If he dies as is, he gets his wish. He remains unforgiven.

But, if he were to repent and turn to Jesus and die in that state - he would be forgiven.
So to me, it is your state when you pass on, or Jesus returns that will determine whether you are forgiven or not.
How can you be certain there is no further opportunity to repent on the other side of this life?

Does this take us back to the house which cannot stand when divided against itself? I am thinking of the indwelling nature of the Holy Spirit.

God did say that he would set one against the other ... without intelligence ... passionate crimes can do this ... criminal judges could be bote off!

Because of what Jesus said about being ready.
Just like the fig tree, we are supposed to be ready for the coming of Jesus. In or out of season.
Theres always another verse to quote about everything isnt there? Such as
Read Romans 10 and 11 especially Romans 11:32
God can offer grace to anyone.

Waterfall ------here is a scripture for you -----

Luke 16:19-31 (GW)
A Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who wore expensive clothes. Every day was like a party to him. 20 There was also a beggar named Lazarus who was regularly brought to the gate of the rich man’s house. 21 Lazarus would have eaten any scraps that fell from the rich man’s table. Lazarus was covered with sores, and dogs would lick them.

22 “One day the beggar died, and the angels carried him to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 He went to hell, where he was constantly tortured. As he looked up, in the distance he saw Abraham and Lazarus. 24 He yelled, ‘Father Abraham! Have mercy on me! Send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water to cool off my tongue. I am suffering in this fire.’

25 “Abraham replied, ‘Remember, my child, that you had a life filled with good times, while Lazarus’ life was filled with misery. Now he has peace here, while you suffer. 26 Besides, a wide area separates us. People couldn’t cross it in either direction even if they wanted to.’

27 “The rich man responded, ‘Then I ask you, Father, to send Lazarus back to my father’s home. 28 I have five brothers. He can warn them so that they won’t end up in this place of torture.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses’ Teachings and the Prophets. Your brothers should listen to them!’

30 “The rich man replied, ‘No, Father Abraham! If someone comes back to them from the dead, they will turn to God and change the way they think and act.’

31 “Abraham answered him, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses’ Teachings and the Prophets, they won’t be persuaded even if someone comes back to life.’”

The one book perspective ... prepare to be hit flat out by a tolerant and accepting Christian of all that is God ...

Tis a devious concept from those that appear to see God differently and very exclusionary! Elimination leads to piscine ... trying to get it back? A pole with a hook on the end may help ... they even assist in steering elephants ... pure gaff?

Does anyone find comic books and superheroes to be a source of spiritual wisdom? There is certainly evidence of it in Charles Schultz's work. Remember Linus when his sister Lucy told him she wished he had never been born? He replied, "Never been born? The theological implications alone are staggering."

Mr Paradox(not the one who happens to be the person of faith in our household) reads a lot of science fiction. He finds much of spiritual significance in this genre.

But I digress.

While doing my MA in Theology a classmate did a presentation on the theology of Calvin and Hobbes. It was freaking brilliant.

Calvin & Hobbes was one of the most intelligent newspaper strips ever (and, with all due respect to Charles Schulz, my favorite), IMHO. Bill Waterston was a genius.

The curiously numbered 2 and 3 above are a given for me. I totally reject the idiotic concepts of the "Holy Spirit" and "Christ", and I always have.

Previously, the problem with me committing the unforgivable sin, which I am desperately trying to commit, is the "always" part. Because I've never been broken down by the people who have marketed Christianity to me, I've never once in my life believed in this stuff. That's the technicality that revjohn once pointed out to me, that I can't commit the unforgivable sin, because like some courses I wanted to take in school, I lacked the prerequisite.

He really was, and you could build an entire theology around Calvin. Hobbes becomes the Holy Stuffed Animal.

Their names were no accident, let's put it that way.

Even Shakespeare said that about what is in a word ...

Myself I like Parker and Heart on BC ... that prior to AD ... no overhead? Tis a subtle toon ...

Tis funny ... the powerful can't see it ... points unseen ...

"Taken" is like a commandeered soul ... after someone demands to think for you because of dogma ... all process disappears like pork*ochs in brine!

Of course it could be sauteed lamb ...

What a cook book ... considered all those cooked for funny rationals ...
