spring has sprung, the grass has riz...and here are the birdies

I have a Christmas cactus that was my Dad's. He died in 99 and it hasn't bloomed since...my outside thumb is green-ish, my inside thumb is brown-ish.

What has worked for us (mostly) is to keep it outdoor over the summer (watering it frequently if we get a drought year). Before frost, we bring it in and put it in a dark corner of the basement, bringing it up when buds start to form. Some years are better than others, but it mostly works.

i notice that the Himalayan balsam or kiss-me-on-the-mountain
is making itself known (i laughed when i saw it today and accidentally damaged their stem)
later on in the year their blossoms will smell like being in a perfume shop
after, their spring-loaded exploding seed pods will burst at a touch or a child's giggle

I like the child's giggle part ... as delightful as a brae-in ph'art in church considering thought and knowledge is forbidden there ....:D

i've stood up in a place of worship before and danced
i've even cried
there is this one church in freeville, NY, where it is a part of the service to do as you want, to sing, speak in tongues, dance or don't dance, even behind the sermonizer...there are places throughout the room where you can pick up multicoloured and textured flags, cloth, musical instruments...

OMG Inanna - this just triggered a flashback!! A number of years ago, one of these appeared in my garden - how very beautiful - fast growing - reached about 6' in height & loaded with gorgeous blooms. Didn't seem to mind its semi-shaded location. The exploding see pods became great entertainment for visitors. Well duh!! Where did I think those seeds were going??? Next spring there were seedlings EVERYWHERE - lawn, garden ... everywhere. It took several years of meticulous weeding to banish it!

The seed of psyche is like this ... if authorities see IT they will weed it out under the premise of the fathers of the church: "common folk shouldn't know" ... and thus it was ... a vapid weeding out ... of knowledge and thought!

One does have to go agin the grain even if it is rye ... or a bummer pulling a full muo-neigh! Is this aulde salt, rime, rye 'm, or rhythm as harmonis' not popular in a competitive social order!

Romantics despise thinkers as thunk ... or in transmutation of foreign tongues ... suffering dunk'n to whet their minds to something sharper ... this derived from the equality of "ð" with "ch" "th" and "d" in idols of phonetics!

Thus the biblical term of knowing the tongues or strangers ... not to speak of their intestinal forte dudes!

more signs during this 19 C day:

this year's first potential sunburn on my arms and face after spending all day with my bro

seehearing 2 christian preachers simultaneously reading from different parts of their bibble from different parts of the street in a part of the unceded coast salish territories (UCST) where various people were hawking their wares, from donating to play a game of some sort to drawings to used albums & books and more that were hidden by time & space

seeing John Mulcair walk across the street & up to the small gathered crowd of orange-clad festive critters, give a little talk by unpowered voice and then saunter down to the beach. i'm glad cnd polyticians are still allowed to be ordinary people. in another part of the ukst we got to see the bill c-51 protests -- ahh, memories of the 70s & 80s...

seeing three people wearing dog masks. i walked up behind them and sang 'who let the dogs out' :3 i found out that their masks were home-made & when i asked if they were a type of furry, they said 'puppies; furries without the fur'

in the night, the distant boom and splash of unknown fireworks

Snow is even menting in the Maritimes. I have never seen so many robins- they have to share the smaller open spaces without snow. Garbage is popping up from under the snow (and dog poop). Still no sign of my crocuses. Finally able to get through to the shed and open the doors of it. Found the hole for my laundry tree and had my first laundry hung outside.
Germany already had 22 degrees. My allergies will go into full shock when I get there in four weeks.
Looking at the weatherforcast map and I am happy not to live in Iqualut- they still had -13 degrees last week.

Un-Known pyre works ... pas-in-Zions as overhead lights? So much redaction to confine the spiritual people from getting into thoughtful realms ... 've high-brew 'n scholars in arid places ... Ed'm place without light drinks?

Gorgeous day here yesterday. Got a tree planted, cleaned the window screens (Mrs. M is doing the windows), cleaned the garage. Also started cleaning the BBQ and then turned on the gas to test it and ... gas leak in one of the valves. :( Going to take the face off today to see if it is something simple like a loose hose. It's not that old and I just bought some replacement parts so I hate to have to dump it.

Here in the Okanagan it is summer already. We are at the turning point where daytime highs in the Okanagan exceed those at the coast, which usually happens around the middle of April. The forecast here is for highs in the low to mid twenties for today and the next few days. Everything that is not yet leafing and blooming is bursting into leaf and bloom. The golf courses and lakes are busy.

Been putin my planter buckets together for Wifi ... constitutes a Bucket List ... some painted, some out of western cedar ... this be after the snow in see d' Eire ... that's nothing you can put something into it and if done right something will come of ID! But if you lie about the conditions ... id'll echoe ... some say Ego as a come bac-kat-cha ... as redacted words will un ravel in the future!

Thus men of letters get visions about the way things halter ... even hoer sis of apostasy ... a latter dais heh as future flowering!
