I had a wonderful visit with Carolla and Birthstone today. They arrived just as the cleaning team was leaving the house (I had forgotten with Thsnksgiving being a holiday they would be here on Tuesday)...so the house was clean! (though still cluttered in areas). I know that shouldn't bug me, but, I admit, it does.

But, good friends don't care. I know that Carolla and Birthstone would have happily shifted stuff to find a spot.

I think that I behaved like a little kid to receive a lovely bright wondercafe package, with a butterfly pinned to it -- full of sunshine. Inside was the softest, lightest shawl in beautiful fall colours. I am tactile, and this one is so soft it is perfect. Thank-you Carolla for your beautiful knitting, as well, with fine touches. it is and will be treasured.

As our visit went on, I found myself with a slight chill. I wrapped the shawl around, and ended up wearing it through to after dinner, when my hot flashes caught up.

Carolla and Birthstone were gracious, as my brain started to fade and fatigue started to set in. It was so good to have them visit, that I did not wish to see them leave, but, too soon it was time to head home. then I started to read on the couch and was soon enough sound asleep on the couch for an hour.

ps. missed taking photo , including a requisite purell shot with Birthstone. Sorry.

I think I have mostly recuperated now. I needed today off as well. Had some errands I would have liked to have done today, but they will still be there for me tomorrow!

work is really hectic. I'd like to be in 2 places at once but I am mostly leaving at a reasonable time.
I just received a quilt back from the long arm quilter on Sunday and had hoped to have the binding on by now. Then decided quilting is to be fun-why stress myself with artificial deadlines. The binding is made and I will get it on soon.

Good morning, friends.

I have finished breakfast, gear is ready, just need to get dressed for my early morning jaunt to Juravinski. Today is with a friend who I see not often enough though she lives close by. Looking forward to hanging with her.

I also have 4 boxes of assorted gourmet cupcakes for the radiation team, lab workers, nursing team, and chemo team, and thank-you cards. It is good to ha e a friend to help carry.

Time is flying by, week 4 already. In 4 weeks at this time, I will have completed my last treatment

i am feeling overwhelmed with gratitude tonight.

Content, comfort, caring......community

Aware that I am much better at giving love, care and support, than receiving it...

Pinga, I'm so glad that you had a nice visit with Birthstone and Carolla. Did you know them before WonderCafe?

I met carolla at the wondercafe picnic at Five Oaks when Seeler was coming to Ontario.
I met Birthstone earlier, I am not sure the first time, maybe when we sent a care package to RevMatt.?

I think it was the second Five Oaks gathering that I attended - when PilgrimsProgress came on her first trip to Canada. That was a great fun day ... thanks to pinga's organizing. Mr. Birthstone made delicious pulled pork for our main pot luck course; various kids were racing about having a grand time - I do remember water being an element by the end of the day; qwerty arrived in his little convertible; we tasted authentic Assie Vegimite - to variable reviews I must say; lots of us just sat & chatted, moving about the circle to meet others and put faces to names in the glorious summer sunshine at Five Oaks. A memorable afternoon for me.

Thank-you Carolla. Yes, the first one was with Seeler, and the 2nd with Pilgrim's Progress. It was a lovely afternoon.

Well, I'm glad that's cleared up. I didn't remember meeting Carolla when I was a Five Oaks and I didn't think I could forget if I had met such a lovely person.
Carolla, I really would like to meet you in person. Do you ever come to NB?

End of the 4th week, with 19 external radiations, 4 chemo done.

Feeling kinda tired. Fatigue is becoming a companion, but health is overall good.

I received a lovely quilt today and am curled up under it, resting before dinner

@Pinga
Keep yur chin up ... we're thinking of yah ... even though many believe such knowledge is evil ... troubling?

Wisdom is like that ... painful ... thus the adage ... but few believe ...

Thinking about you and your journey, Pinga. Meer words can't convey all I wish for you...Many blessings.

Carolla, I really would like to meet you in person. Do you ever come to NB?
I've been twice to NB - once about 32 years ago on summer vacation, and once just briefly with our youth troup - probably 14 or so years ago on our Maritime tour. I guess I might be due!
