Mouldy cheez ... Jesus as Blue Molded ... penne a cillii 'n ... do you eat mould in Roche forte?

Did you know fungi and bacterium are always at odds as emotions and intellect ... some bal Lance may be required to cut it ...

Earthy chaos ... A' mire thingy ...

I sure wish we had completed the conversion to metric once we started. We'd have adjusted by now. This switching back and forth drives me nuts.
I think we're getting better. I think the government is partially to blame for some of it, registry offices, clinics, etc. tend to ask/inform in imperial measurements first. It's holding back the younger generations from going full metric.
For turkey I could easily go with kg, but everyone else uses lbs, so I go with what's common!

I am not feeling well today. Pushing a bit too much and I think sorting through the squash with the decaying leaves was a bit of an issue.
I barely slept last night, I figured I would sleep late but I woke up with a dripping nose. Not mucus, just fluid. Took my typical daytime allergy pill that contains a decongestant already, usually I take it a bit before going out somewhere. That appears to have helped.

Luckily, other than getting a few things done at home I have nothing planned for today.

I could go with kg for turkeys but I roast it in Farenheit. I use Celsius for weather temp. but always cook in F.
Oh yes, that's another one. I don't even know how to switch my stove over and I rarely see any cooking info in C.

I need to buy a new stove. We have a wonderful maytag gas double oven, but the main ovens temperature gauge went and we have had trouble finding a serviceman that will come out.

The final straw was a very burnt pan of cabbage rolls, which the person left to watch them took out early, but likely the top ovens switch has gone as well.

With fall coming on, and with casseroles on the menu, I really am tired of waiting. I will look for the same, I love a good stove but a more common manufacturer

Thanks Pinga! I hope you're feeling ok, you've had a full week! Bad timing for the stove to go! Seems like that's how appliances roll. Fridges & freezers when it's hot, furnaces, stoves when it's cold.

It actually went earlier, but our patience at either finding a maintenance person or having them come in has run out. With being at home and the fall coming up, we basically agreed "this needs to be done, what are we doing", so agreement was made, and new stove will be bought.

I do love cooking with gas!
My current stove though-that I put in-is a ceran top-with a warming burner and 3 racks in the oven. It can be a regular or a convection oven. and it came from sears.

We've had some beautiful coool fall weather these last few days - clear crisp air, blue sky, sunshine without heat and humidity. My kind of weather. A 90+ year old woman and her daughter hosted their annual congregational corn-boil at their home on The Ridge outside the city. Beautiful drive out with friends - we saw two young deer on the side of the road. Great food, conversation, community building. And the drive back in the starlit night. It will be our last gathering of this type - she is selling her home and moving into a seniors' complex and her daughter is moving to a small place. Hopefully someone (or some group) in the church will organize something similar in future years.

Sounds absolutely wonderful Seeler :)

What a great tradition that woman provided for many years. Sounds fabulous, Seeler.

I too am loving the cool air. Fall is such a wonderful season for me. I recognize now it is likely that it has been the easiest one to breathe in, and so my life is easier, but I love the colours, the layering of clothes, the smell, the food and baking.

Looking forward to a few quiet days.

Seeler...I love church outings like the one you described. Glad you enjoyed it. It doesn't feel like Fall here in Northern Ontario. I'm still wearing summer clothes and sandals (see an earlier post for the make of sandal:)). It's in the 20's consistently. In fact, every weekend, I still need to mow the lawn. No...this is not a complaint. But I am making this comment out of surprise, awe and gratitude! By next weekend, I might be talking about snowdrifts.

Coming from behind the Lab a'Door and working consistently with both measurements ... I am ambidextrous in metric Americanisms and under stand meta ron'x well as a dog of measure! It just follows ... hermeneutic all ...

Seelergirl phoned today - of course I've seen her andtalked to her and the children on a fairly regular basis -- but I avoided asking about the dog - I didn't want to bring up anything unpleasant, especially in front of the children.
Today, no kids around, I asked, "What about Chloe?"
Chloe is still with us - that is sil and the children. She has regained some use of her back legs - to get around the house and yard She is scheduled for surgery next week. I don't know how it will be paid for - I try to avoid asking questions about something that is none of my business and that I wouldn't be able to help with.
So Grandson continues to pray for his dog - and I add my positive thoughts and energy.

I'm glad it is friday. October is going to be a busy month, Thanksgiving, attending a Ringo Star performance, I'm leading a church service, some travel for work and Presbytery. This weekend is a weekend at home and some needed catch up on home stuff and rest.

Same at my house, Tabitha. Now that we can't use the excuse of how busy September is (wedding, holidays, return to non-summer routines at work and church) -- it's really time to focus on housework that was allowed to slide. Thankfully, as renters, we don't have a yard to maintain.
