Picked up the distilled water and will try to night. Good idea re getting used to it while watching TV or reading a book. (they had me read at the Hamilton clinic).

Oh what fun - a baby shower! And that's a big group ... good for you for hosting the event! Are you playing goofy shower games (my bias is showing!) or just chatting & opening gifts?
I have a good white wine sangria recipe if you want it ... nice for such a gathering :)
I have a cohost, but I don't know her well so I took on most of the stuff - especially as she's never been to my house to know for set up. She's in charge of the games and I don't even know the plans for them!

I have no idea how much people will drink for this. I'm doing up a raspberry lemonade and have a wine that's ever so slightly fizzy. People can drink as is or mix the two.

@Tabitha , it would be darn cold to be dragon boat racing here today.
Note: I am copying cd's so am at the computer a lot today. Have done about 30 so far as I build up my portable music collection.
*edit..make that 50

26 here at the moment Pinga. Paddling this weekend in the Alberta Rockies I wore a long sleeved polyproplene shirt topped with a lightweight fleece shirt-and paddling gloves of course.

ah seeler hard for grandson-and the rest of you-when prayers aren't answered the way we want-it does present the chance to talk about that-but doesn't take away the ache of a good dog friend.

I love baby showers and wedding showers . I like to keep the ribbon and paper and bags that everyone seems to throw away.

LOL I am just cheap.

Very exciting news for you and your family Chemgal! Do they know the sex or anything yet?

I am sorry to hear about Chloe :( If price is an issue in making her feel comfortable then it sounds like the best thing is to let her go. At 11 I am sure your grandson will understand, it will just be hard. I still miss my girl and it's been almost 2 years now.

Things went really well. My Mom seemed impressed. The bread pinwheel sandwiches weren't a huge hit as I don't think my generation knows about them too well. I was thinking about making a little menu list so people could at least have a pretty good idea what they were getting but time and energy were low and by the time food was prepped it wasn't even on my mind. The generation above appreciates them.

My body is done for today and maybe tomorrow. I was asleep, but after a while the pain got bigger than my exhaustion and that's with having already taking pain killers. Wine helps with that too - I think that all wore off now though and drinking more seems like a bad idea. I had a bit as a spritzer to get through the party, then a big glass while clearing the food and another big glass while I sat and others (mostly the men who had returned) cleaned the kitchen and packed up gifts. Pretty sure one of those big glasses isn't 'one drink'. My mom seemed amused, normally she's pretty uncomfortable with my sister or I drinking beyond a glass of wine with dinner but she also saw how poorly I was moving before that.

Oh! And most importantly my sister had a great time. None of my stress was from her, she offered to help.
She's sweet, there was some confusion about who's house we were at for some of the guests, just due to who included people on FB, many figured whoever added them onto the event was the home owner. She knew I did the decorations and prepped, etc so in a FB thank you post she mentioned it being at my house. That probably would have never occurred to me to do it that way if it was in reverse.

Ugh, was going to go to bed again, but standing up started up the pain as my muscles really tense up. I don't know why they do this so badly, they always have although that tipping point used to be much higher.
I'm going to take to a doctor about prescription muscle relaxers because it gets to the point where I can't put my heel on the floor while standing.
I've treat OTC ones and they were worse than sugar pills as I didn't want to start mixing in alcohol. It's why the wine helps me a fair bit with this, moreso about getting the soft tissue to ease up that relieves the pain then drinking to the point where it's numbed.

Does anyone have any experience with OTC vs prescription muscle relaxers?

For now, the solution is to sleep on the couch once the pain recedes again. Chemguy is tired too, so I don't want to be bugging him in bed while I attempt to get to the state where it's worthwhile to try sleeping.

Glad the shower/party went well. Sorry about the stiff muscles. Does a hot bath help?

Our dragonboat team won medals in the weekend race festival. Not bad for a team of middleaged women who practice once a week.

Does a hot bath help?
Yes, but I did that already and will do so again. I have a great RMT that's understanding, I sent her a message last night asking if she's booked up or not but also saying I had no idea if I was going to sleep til 2 this afternoon or not. Sounds like she can fit me in today!

Woke up with a headache this morning. Still have a trace of it now :( Have woken up with headaches a lot lately. Could it be stress? Overwork?
