Seeler, sorry to hear about Chloe.

I'm doing well today, besides a late start. I was up late drying bedding, Chemguy promised to do things this morning. I woke up at 7:30, figured Chemguy would be up at 8 rolled over and went back to sleep. Woke up again sometime after 9 and he was still sleeping and wasn't impressed when I woke him up. He was a bit out of it, but got it together when I reminded him he needed to pick up an order for 10, and he had said he would cook sausages for a dish.

The expected failure is actually working better than when my Mom has done it and I've come up with fillings that people are going to be more likely to eat too I think. My sister actually requested that I not do certain ones that are traditional for my Mom as few seem to like them. I just need to be off my feet for a bit, plus some eczema on my hands was driving me nuts so I'll avoid touching food for a bit while I let some topical medication do it's job.

Our dryer has stopped working and now my poor yobo has to hang everything up to dry. :(
Others in the house could help.
I actually do little in the dryer, sheets, towels, certain PJs.

Hopefully the dryer is an easy fix though, think like towels take a long time to dry without one!

How is this a bad thing? We usually hang most of our laundry to dry - sometimes outside, sometimes in the basement.
And why aren't you helping if it's such a big job??

Dryers can often be easily repaired without a service call if you're at all so inclined - my husband has replaced various parts on ours over the years - heating coil, drum belt etc. Youtube has lots of helpful videos.

My sons and I help by putting our dirty clothes into the laundry room hamper for her. She takes it from there. On Monday I'll call for repairs.

It isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is a thing which takes more work. We aren't helping her all that much because it's one of her household jobs. Still, I can't help but feel it's unfair she has to do it all.

Seriously? I hope you are trying to be funny.

On the other hand don't want to ruin the room vibe.

Shifting vibe.

She considers that a genuine help Pinga, because before she asked us to start doing that, we just used to throw them wherever in the floor. Anyway, back to your vibe.

@ChemGal , I know you have been planning and prepping for this event...but, I am not sure that I know much about it. How many people? All family? Is it a special type of event that requires special types of food? You were mentioned fillings...is part of it perogies or something like that?
Thinking it sounds interesting.

I was going to keep quiet about it until later, but I brought it up.
I'm going to be an aunt! It's a baby shower for my sister. Pinwheel sandwiches are the things that were causing some tension. For both of our wedding showers she made them primarily and let us spread stuff on them.

Not much family, as for us nearby it's just my parents & sister. My brother in law has more family in Calgary, but as far as I know it's just his mom and sister that are coming.

I'm planning for 30, but in reality expecting 25. Not huge for a shower I guess, but that's quite a few people to fit in a house where it's not mix & mingle and the showers I've been to usually have 10-15 people.

Oh what fun - a baby shower! And that's a big group ... good for you for hosting the event! Are you playing goofy shower games (my bias is showing!) or just chatting & opening gifts?
I have a good white wine sangria recipe if you want it ... nice for such a gathering :-)

I too have a\ white wine sangria recipe-with cherries yum! I'd suggest at least a game or two.
A baby in the family-how nice!

yup, i have it at home. Forgot to pick up distilled water and not interested in going back out, so will wait until tomorrow to start it. I am hoping the next week will be enough for me to get used to it. I know based on what I have been told, that I will sleep better, and sleep better is important for healing, restoration. (shucks, even crossfit tells us we MUST get lots of sleep in order for muscle and body repair to occur). Her point was that some people starting cancer treatment find that it is too much to take on , and so have returned it...I am hoping that I will be able to get ahead of it and be reasonably comfortable with it.

I can't remember if I've already said this so forgive me if this is a "best of" moment.

I got a CPAP this winter but put off using it. The first two masks weren't for me but the last one I got (it looks like a pig's nose) only goes over my nose and I wear it for most of the night and most nights I feel much better rested. I found my brain to be the biggest obstacle to using it (oh, it's too much work; it doesn't work for me, etc). The other thing they had me do is to wear it for a few hours while watching TV and get used to the noise and feel of the air - I think that really helped because there was a lot less pressure on me for it to work.

And now I realize that it's been a few days since this post, I think so - how did it go?
