She's going a bit further than I would prefer to travel for a GP, especially if I am sick.
While I liked her, there have been doctors I have clicked with a bit more.
I'm actually thinking of going to a new clinic altogether now. Edmonton has started 'primary care networks - PCNs' groups of clinics that work together even if the are under different companies. It's a bit confusing, my current clinic is under a certain company that has clinics in Edmonton and Calgary. Both clinics I went to were different companies but the same PCN and for some reason they were the Edmonton West PCN even though that's not the area they (or I) am in.
I think finding a clinic in the PCN for the area I am in would be more suitable, as the common specialists I get referred are also likely to be in the same area. For example, my ENT and internal medicine specialist are both in South West Edmonton. I was also thinking of switching pharmacies - to a compounding one that is nearby and does home deliveries. Currently I use 2 pharmacies often, one because of the hours, one because of the compounding license. While this new pharmacy doesn't have the best hours the home delivery service would make up for it. They are really pushing the 'small town pharmacist' feel where they really know their customers. It's in a new strip mall that just opened a few weeks ago. It's even walking distance if I'm up for a decent walk. There's a clinic in it too, will have to see if it's a part of a PCN. I want to stick with the PCN model as it opens up more service options - such as the exercise specialist. If I wasn't in the PCN I wouldn't have been able to see him.
Sorry for rambling about things most of you don't care about, it helps to just think things through here.
