People have been conditioned by magical forces not to accept grief of chance disaster ... it is easier to blame it on the recipient of poor deals from god's representatives ... allowing for some intellect and experience from the devil or advocate in the concern ... a real pain in the donkey?

Did I say the Hebrew made the donkey a sacred beast? One should get a grip on one that agrees to be held by both cheeks in a passing disturbance ... possibly ath-aught about experiences going bi?

my sympathies chemgal-your recovery is dragging a bit from your dental surgery here's to healing
@chansen-yes it is a tough road you walk- both your family and the other families
@Seeler-It's never too late to attend a grief group

and as for me-I have a delightful morning planned. The grade 3's in our school division go to swimming lessons and I'll be joining a young student (and the teaching assistant) in the water. I love pool time.
I'll also be reviwing use of the mechanical lift-wheelchair to change table-change table to pool wheelchair (and reverse)

To prevent float Errs ...?

Once I had some devious sorts let a Snack Bar go free in the pool ... talk about clearing a pool quickly ...

Most of my family is going camping ⛺ this weekend at Bronte Creek in Oakville. If anyone is in the area, drop on by our campsite. We'll toast you up a tasty hot dog on a stick.

A good day-helped the student in a wheelchair swim with his class, my assistant helped 2 others. It feels really good when kids with special needs can do the same activities as their peers. It changes the expectations of their classmates as well.

Ugh, does anyone know if anesthetic or just reduced oxygen while being under or something affects veins? Maybe vitamin deficiencies as I seemed to get anemia symptoms so quickly?
We have not successfully used my hands since I got my wisdom teeth out. I thought today we had it, pretty quickly too. Used further down on the hand, so where it would be thicker. I felt some pain and thought I saw swelling, but I always tend to imagine this when I feel pain. Not imagined this time, got worse. I don't know why, it was feeling really comfortable at the beginning but it looks like the vein blew.
sounds uncomfortable! I don't know the answer to your question ... might you be a bit dehydrated? Maybe Lastpointe will drop by with her amazing nursing knowledge.

Have fun camping jae. Bronte is a nice park - some good walks in the valley there - and it's not a long drive at all. Hopefully the QEW traffic won't be audible from the campground!

Nope, I had all that IV fluid in the hospital and I've actually been drinking so much ice water for the coolness. More meds = more drinking, especially with taking 3 dry-feeling pills 3x/day. Less caffeine consumption as well.

Tabitha, I think it is wonderful that some kids with special needs got to go swimming with you and their classmates. Our pool has the equipment to enable this but pool staff told me last year that it is never used. Swimming used to be part of the regular school activities - two weeks of lessons for all the elementary students each year. It hasn't happened for the past few years - no money or something! Such a poor decision (in my opinion) - everybody should have an opportunity to learn to feel comfortable in and around water.

Good evening folks. Hoping everything is going well, and you folks out west are enjoying some of that warm weather I hear you have, while we in S. ontario may get a frost I hear. Lots of interesting weather.

Lots going on as always in our busy lives. some of it is fun, some not so much. I had won a pair of lens at christmas, didn't get in to pick any out. Happened to be at the doctor's in same plaza as my optician, popped in, and they were able to get the prize extended. Feeling pretty spoiled with that one. So, have just finished ordering new sunglasses with my progressive lens. Not cheap. I have some which are good for sports, but, they are hot for just walking around or driving, so looking forward to this lighter pair.

I went to the doctor due to my cough that just wouldnt' quit. I would cough enough that my stomach muscles felt like I had ripped something. Had to hold them due to pain. I also had standard bladder issues as many women of a certain age will understand. Very frustrating. So, good news/bad news is I now have puffers, and my new (and very thorough) doctor has me off doing chest x-rays, as well as ensuring that I get caught up on all the things that I haven't been taking care of. She is quirky, and young, and direct....and that works just fine for me.

I'm also pretty close to booking a trip to singapore and shanghai in late July, and a trip to boston in July, and of course, my usual trips to the midwest in may/june....so bunch of travel in the next few months. Some of it fun, some of it not so much.

isn't that like much of life. some of it fun, some of it not so much. need to remember to focus ont he fun.

Swimming is a life skill - swimming and water safety should be part of the curriculum in elementary school (and of course it should include students with disabilities). It could save a life. It also offers health benefits (exercise) and most people also find it enjoyable.
What a pity it seems to have been dropped in your area. I must inquire whether grandson has swimming (I know he has skating - enjoyable exercise far less important than swimming, in my opinion.)

We had a first for this year sighting of a hummingbird at the feeder last evening. I thought I saw one briefly hovering near the window a few days ago and quickly put my feeders out.
It's still quite cool here - we had a few shirt-sleeve days but then the temp dropped to almost freezing and drizzle almost felt like sleet.
Today started with sunshine - perhaps it will bee better.

Thanks Carolla. It should be fun . One of our party is a chef who has worked in some of Toronto's best restaurants with Jamie Kennedy, so the food will be excellent. Have you camped at Bronte Carolla? We've camped in several of the Ontario Provincial Parks, but never before Bronte.

A while ago I read an article about how everyone should have their "I Quit" letter ready to submit. The writing of it is a good practice. Having it handy means you are less likely to quit in a huff or out of frustration, and if you do, you will at least do it in style.

A while ago, I wrote my first draft of my "i have decided to retire" emails / notices. It was a good exercise. I did more drafts / refinements last night. As the date that I can retire comes closer, the email/letter helps to confirm my decision, what I will miss, and what I won't (of course, what i won't doesn't go into the emails). It is a good exercise. It is nice to have the luxury of time to do it.

Have you ever quit? Retired? how did it feel?

I wrote 20 and 25 year documents that were somewhat cynical about the actions of power hungry people ... few ever saw it as these people wouldn't wish to see the future as it was shaping up with CEO's bleeding systems dry ... sort of like Ca 'n Sears ... little forward vision ...

Many people don't wish to see where anything leads ... thus the need for sub verse-itty to myths ...

On the same note Pinga-I heard that you should interview for new positions at least every 2-3 years to keep your interview skills up.

in other news I've agreed to chair our Board at church for the next 2 months as current chair needs a break for health reasons. I know myself well enough to make a time limited offer to do this.

Agreed. I tend to be reorg'd or moved into new area after I stabilize an area, but before that I would do my resume, watch the ads and interview. Came close a few times but jobs that I liked were in Toronto and wasn't willing to do the commute while kids were younger

That's wonderful Tabitha. You can lead them all in doing fundraising through the making and selling of beautiful quilts.
