I helped my grandson in Michigan celebrate his 8th birthday yesterday...a few days early, as their family is heading down state for a few days, to see more family. I asked what kind of cake he wanted...He said 'brownies with sprinkles'. I couldn't find any sprinkles at the grocery story (noticing shortages of some things), so I decorated with smarties and little pieces of kit kat. (American Kit Kat bars taste awful, so both Smarties and Kit Kat are a Canadian treat). I think I created a new favourite!

I would cheerfully accept some of that cake. It will go well with some of that morning coffee.

I see that tea water is hot. Makes a nice change from the icy flood waters in this area. There is something awe inspiring though about seeing the natural world doing what comes naturally. Chunks of ice bouncing along where a bridge used to be.

Hope you have a good leave and accomplish whatever goals you have for your sabbatical. My wife was supposed to write a book on one sabbatical but ended up converting it to a mat leave, then taking the sabbatical after that was up. Book still got written and Little M got name checked in the acknowledgements. He sort of contributed, right?
 
Good morning! Welcome to the Friday gathering round the Coffee Cart. Pondering high schools who inflate grades, grandchildren's birthdays and the cakes made for them, Canadian versions of chocolate bars that taste better, a four month long sabbatical for one of our posters, and anything that come us today. We chat, support, and connect over tea, coffee, and the Wonderbaker's creations. Today the WB has made their ever popular cinnamon buns for us to enjoy. The tea kettle is whistling, the coffee is freshly brewed, the buns are soft and warm from the oven. All is ready, everyone is welcome! Come in and join the conversations!

I wonder how many other folk get the feeling they shouldn't be here?

It is kind of humbling ... and thus we go down defeated by the counterpoints ...

In the William James' triad grouping conflict, distrust and pride ... how does the resolution fit? Right from the book: "knowledge of any sort is evil" to the full blown emotions! Seems that could be just a start ... opposed directives???? Reciprocal tables ...
 
Good morning! Hope your weekend is off to a good start. Nice day here today, hope the same holds true where everyone else is. We gather again around the Coffee Cart, to continue the long tradition of conversation, support, and community over coffee, tea, and baked stuff from the marvelous Wonderbaker. This morning the WB has produced scones, with several assorted spreads and toppings for us to enjoy. the tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed all day long, and the scones are nice and warm. All is ready, everyone is welcome! Come in and join the fun!

Went off about 4 times on my phone. Sky was getting blue to the West of me so I figured it must be somewhere else because the storm was basically over here. Haven't heard anything about any twisters yet.

That was March. It broke again today. I went looking at new washers and dryers online. Bloody expensive and built no better than these.

I fixed the dryer again. It yet lives. It's a miracle.

No tornado warnings here. Besides, how would I know? I've had my head in a dryer most of today.
 
We live in the middle of a bush lot.

I love to watch the trees dance in thunderstorms, awes by how they can bend. (Other than ashes damaged by emerald ash borer)

Thankfully all of the affected ashes by house are removed

We gather round the Coffee Cart to debrief, through conversation, support, and community. The coffee and tea are ready, and the Wonderbaker has created Crepes Suzette for us to enjoy, with different fillings and/or toppings. Tea water is boiling, coffee is freshbrewed. For stimulus, stigma, or stipends for holding up the process of escape from human bondage? Without the chore ... who would carry out the crap we've generated? A "G" Factor ... compressors for extraction after the heat and pressure work them over ... hard product? Gems in red, yellow, black and white and still others ... in serene shades? Ocean glass ... as the sea dies down ...
