We have company coming this coming week . . . so for Beloved that means cleaning on the weekend :) . . . won't fuss, but will give home a good "going over"!

I'll be picking everything up on Tuesday, in the morning. Hopefully all that goes well now.
Right now we're waiting on dirt, I'll have to do something with some of my plants - peas sprouting on wet paper towel right now, I'm going to take out some of the excess herb seedlings to give to my sister and we'll come back with a cherry tree from one of her shooters.
I'll also go grocery shopping sometime for some soft foods.

Nancy, I was hearing tonight of the elementary teachers being in a no contract position now ... so much unrest. I hope things will get settled for the sake of all the kids & teachers.
Carolla...I'm a terrible employee in many respects, because I try to ignore the political as long as possible. I get paid well, I love my job, I am supported when I need support. Yet, when it comes down to a strike, I have to walk the picket line. I've been trying to avoid the strike news, but today I got an e-mail that we are in position to strike as of May 10th. Yuk. Until I hear otherwise, I will give 100 percent to what really matters...the kids!

I should add that my husband is very political and up to date on all the woes of all levels of government. I tell him that I have to put blinders on, so to speak, and work within my little corner to help make a difference. I'm sure many people here don't agree with that approach, but it's how I get to sleep at night! Strike action is when the political woes invade my little corner of the world. I guess I'll have to figure out a way to deal with it.

Dirt's here! Pretty early, Chemguy wasn't given a time.
Got a phone call, guy was asking how to get to our house. There is no 'r' in our street name. Many GPSes, autofill programs, etc. include the 'r' in our name. He thought he was on the wrong street, but called when he was right in front of our house.

Looks like quite a few others are getting dirt too - now way that truck load is all for us!

Dress bought and fresh new undergarments, pretty sandals located, hair cut and guessed up, pedicure being done - woot, almost ready for a wedding.! My nephew is being married at 4:30. Guys have suits, shirts, ties etc all ready. Hair is also freshly cut. Party time!

I am planning an open house scheduled for late may for my dad's 90 that was in feb.

I have a week away early may, then two weeks end of may for work

Looks like a trip to Boston for work in july,....and a trip to Singapore and shanghai end of jiune.

I think the next few months will fly by!

A family wedding - what fun! Especially to see everyone dressed up - a rarity these days in my life :-)

We had some entertainment on my street today. It's a nice sunny day here, so many of the neighbours were out in their front yards cleaning up gardens etc. Now, there is a liquor store (LCBO) at the corner of our quiet, somewhat short residential block. The secene is set.

So, a couple of young guys, hoodies up, came running out of the liquor store & up the street with their arms full of bottles. LCBO guy comes out yelling at them - which alerted the neighbours to the heist. Guys run up the street and jump into a waiting car, which is parked facing south - facing toward the LCBO - limited planning skills obviously, not to mention in full view of all the neighbours. So they had to turn the car around - peeled across the street into a driveway. Did I mention the car is a low-rider? Oops! It got hung up on the sidewalk at the entry to the driveway. Neighbour lady is calmly working in her garden - amused by all this & getting the plate #. Guys jump out rock & push the car to get it loose ... success ... they back up, car stalls, won't start. They jump out again & start pushing it, until it starts & they squeal off up the street. Meanwhile LCBO guy has also arrived on the scene, has the plate # and tells neighbour that he teaches at a nearby high school & thinks he knows them - students there. All true. Not rocket scientists these kids ...

hahaha, carolla, great story. I'm picturing the silliness.

Yes, family weddings are so much fun. This family has 5 boys, and this was the 4th of the 5 to get married so lots of young folks. My boys enjoy their cousins, and so, lots of good times. A fair bit of beer consumed....but everyone laughing, dancing and a beautiful location. It felt like a winery though in the industrial area of Kitchener. Bride is lovely, groom was suitably mesmerized, and was a delicious meal.

Nancy, it would be very hard for me to be in that situation. I get it is complex, but, happy you have found a way to continue to enjoy and work with the kids.

Seelerman and I met with some friends to play Rummoli last evening. Unfortunately he was lost his $5.00 early in the game - second only to the hostess. Then he helped her prepare snacks and watched the game. I stayed in as three more went down. We called a time limit after two hours. I came home with $12.75 - the Seelerfamily up $2.75 for the evening. Not a very effective way to get money. I should rob a beer store.

Good morning everyone! Sleet, rain, and snow in the night . . . and is continuing. I'm hoping it warms up to just rain by the time I head out for church. Daughter and sis coming for lunch after church.

Have a great day,

Sunny and warm here today. I spent yesterday at "the gathering of the guild" Sounds medieval doesn't it? It really was a gathering of quilters from the interior of BC-a mini conference with guest speakers and trunk shows and a marketplace from stores. My guild was well represented-we had 3 cars there-I drove with 2 friends and we all came home with purchases to make.

Tabitha - was this the show where you are exhibiting your quilt? If yes, how'd it go?

Sounds like fun, Tabitha. Spending a day with people with similar interests, and dreaming together of possibilities.

Seeler, my Mom used to love to play Rummoli.. I have fond memories of her having jack, queen, king....and not getting the pot. Hah. She definitely could be competitive at times. We played for pennies, I guess you play for nickels now?

Beloved, have fun with your company. I enjoy comfortable entertaining/hosting with friends.
I hope your gardening goes well, Chemgal.
