How does one teach about things that are ongoing?

Thus endless struggle with the abstract --- Einstein as encapsulated! Expect future corrections ...

Very cold today. Had to do a mini-blow of driveway today before we could shop. Did a flashfood order today at my grocery store: for $5.45: 3 grapefruit, 2 oranges, 2 lemons, 2 cantaloupes, 1 bunch of pretty sad spinach which I will use tomorrrow, 2 bunches of collard greens which I will freeze, a 12 oz bunch of asparagus for dinner tomorrow, 2 heads of celery, which big guy loves for dipping in hummus/tofu dip. This is turning into my way to buy veg, Buy a box and eat around it.

Rh'oe dents make their mark similarly ... then there are alternates! You can never know for sure in a passing light ... thus Thomas as a place to store uncertainties ...

My dad hated rats but was terrified of mice due to an early experience ... thus we gnaw away at mysteries that grow with time!

Good Sunday morning! Still cold, still lots if snow on the ground (and roads, sidewalks, et.) but it is being cleared up. Hope we are all safe and warm! Hope that our furnaces will function well, and the driveway will remain usable for at least a few days. The Room is always warm and comfy. We gather again round the Coffee Cart, for conversation, support, and connection; as well as for tea, coffee, and today, French toast. The tea water is ready, and coffee is freshbrewed; and the French toast is ready, and toppings for it are warm. All is ready, and everyone is welcome. Come in and join in!

How amazing is this? French toast on offer today!

On these days while I am stuck inside, I have been rearranging a cabinet in my dining room. After styling it in more ways than you could shake a stick at, I am finally happy with it. Of course, I have said this one or two other times . .

The decorating gurus advise us to leave one third of our bookshelves empty these days. One third should contain interesting objects. And one third actual books.

When it comes to china cabinets, they say either repurpose them or get rid of them. Haha!

Is not knowing, protocol so as to avoid the other word ... unknowing and thus delinquent?

Relax, as like God it is just word and can be altered at any time ... that's evolution and dystopian activity rolled into Ba'aL (hard round place)!

There are those that say we're not at the core yet ... hartebeest? It is a primal cowed thing ...

Mine are plugged full a full roster ... booked out? All is unreal from this instance ...

My china cabinet contains a rather nice bone china service for 12. I have downsized quite a but of stuff already but this remains. One daughter keeps changing her mind - she wants it/she doesn't.
Many things kids might argue about have already bee given to one or other of them. I told my Executer that letting the grands help themselves to anything they want that is still in the house would be a good idea. (We have my partner's grandmother's potato peeler)..

Peelers are significant when stripping the spud down ...

Good morning! The new week begin cold here, but promises some less severe cold temps fir a few days. One day, we may even go above freezing briefly! (2 above) but won't, alas, stay there long. Hope your area is nicer weather wise.
We gather round the Coffee Cart to share our thoughts and stories, support one another, and deepen our connections over tea, coffee and baked goodies. Our marvelous Wonderbaker this morning has whipped up a batch of cruller;, nice, light, and fluffy, to enjoy. The table is ready, all of you are welcome, tea water ready, coffee freshly brewed. Come on in, keep warm, and join in!

What do we do with that outside Circe ... blow it as blue ... then it's gone ... back to where it come from ... mystery! So many peculiar shades to make spotless circles ... 3 wheelers?

Then came the cart ... heh ere! Latent? potential off-spin ...

I had bought myself a 2000 piece puzzle after Christmas.

I walked by it at Indigo and it kept pulling me in. It was far more than I have ever paid for a puzzle and I hesitated.

It was a fantasy image taking place under the sea - whimsical, gorgeous.

I decided to buy it as I could pass it on to those who have passed on amazing puzzles to me.
(funny how I have to justify spending money on myself)

I opened it and loved working on it. It was delightful -- perfect amount of challenge, quality pieces, many hours of enjoyment.

But, my dog figured out he really liked eating puzzles pieces. By the time that I finished, I discovered he had snuck in and swooped up a dozen pieces.

Now what to do with the puzzle.

No one will want one with 12 pieces missing, I thought. I hated to just throw it out though -- what a waste. It sat.

I decided to post the puzzle image, and a buyer-beware, offering it to someone , but ensuring they knew about the gaps.

There was the requisite humourous responses to my post, then one that made me sit back.

It was our @ninj . She was interested.
Her final comment though was what caught me by surprise.

"The missing pieces make it a meditation on completion."

Wow, brilliant.

How often do I look at something, and expect perfection or at least completion?

Ninj looked at it as part of the whole -- and an opportunity.
It shifted the puzzling activity to another level.
Great incite and approach.

Looking forward to gathering for another coffee, and doing the transfer, but, her words stay with me.

Much appreciated wisdom.

Coached in the freezing cold on Friday and Saturday in Collingwood, drove to Waterloo and back through the worst snowstorm I've ever driven through on Friday night. That's saying something. Nearly went off on Grey Road 14 in a pure whiteout. Zero visibility for a few seconds. Drifted right without knowing it and got two wheels partly in the ditch before mashing the gas pedal and powering out of it. When we drove the same stretch on Sunday to drop Claire off, every few kilometres there were imprints in the the ditch where vehicles used to be. I assume they eventually closed the road, but thankfully not before we made it up.

Good race, though we sent one athlete to the hospital with a knee injury. Just a strain, we are told. The kid wanted to drive back and get his next run in. That's the sort of kids we get.

we're seeing a number of cars who have ended up with right wheels in the ditch.

Part of the challenge is that the roads are being plowed very wide and the ditches are full due to the amount of snow we've had.
It appears that it is the shoulder based on the plow marks, but, it isn't it is full ditch.
I noticed it first when walking to the mailbox. I moved over to make space for a car going by, and was surprised to slip down....i was no longer on the road.

Broke the back axel on my vehicle at a Tim Hortons drive through. Got the wheels caught in some pretty deep ice rivets formed beside the takeout window......impenetrable ice.
When the tires dropped into the ice rivets, I heard a loud SNAP!
Fortunately, I have a great mechanic that charges reasonable fees....fixed it the next day....

Back to jigsaw puzzles. I have purchased a few with one or two missing pieces. I have also seen extra or duplicate pieces in a brand new puzzle box.

That's exactly it. They're winging the snow back but making the road appear wider than it is. In my case I wasn't trying to use that width, I just drifted there. It was difficult to see the hood of the truck, but I also couldn't stop or we'd have been run down from behind. Foot off gas, try to hold it straight. Failed at that, but saved it. Winter tires paid for themselves on that one.

Glad you're safe!!!
