I watched a Christmas vid from Nazareth and the high population of Muslims were enjoying the festivities thinking Santa, trees and shopping and not realizing Jesus involvement.I had a Muslim here for Christmas Eve and he didn't so much as bat an eyelash when I said "Merry Christmas".
Good mornng! Happy Saturday. The last weekend of the year! Today we ponder chocolate as a separate food group, take note on skiiing during ice pellet storms, and remember the people of Prince Albert, and the Salvation Army, therein, and the people whom it served.
We gather round the Coffee Cart for our chat, support, stories and observations, over coffee, tea, and baked goodies. This morning the baker has provided us with some lovely assorted fruit crepes. The tea water is hot, coffee is freshbrewed, nd the crepes are at their yummy best All is ready, and anyone is welcome. Come join in the fun!

Yeah, my daughter-in-law's family (Pakistani Muslims) get together during the season. I think some of it is convenience since it's the one time in the year when you have multiple stat holidays close together but I think the secular element of a time for families to get together and celebrate whatever they are celebrating has been picked up, too. And, my d-i-l herself was born in the US and grew up in Canada so it's kind of cultural for her. And you can't discount the fact that Jesus matters to Muslims, too, and is revered as the most important prophet before Muhammad (they also think Christians got it badly wrong with the whole "Jesus is God Incarnate" and the Trinity).I think Christmas has evolved a lot. I know I’ve never associated it with Jesus, but it's almost a universal secular holiday now, at least in Canada. We skied with a Jewish family today and they explained how they more celebrated Christmas than Hanukkah.
I was out for a medical appointment after 10am EST and just back on now so probably missed it if there was. I'll check logs later. Vision is a bit blurry right now (optometrist appt and she put drops in). Got her to write a scrip for some "computer glasses", i.e. glasses geared to staring at screens all day, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary. Coming up on four years since my cataract surgery and my eyes are holding up pretty well. The site was down for a bit here. Just for me, or did anyone else have a problem?
Sorry I didn’t check in until today. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Christmas Day was rushed and yesterday I recovered.Good mornng! Happy Saturday. The last weekend of the year! Well that's good news. I was really sick over Christmas in the year 2000. It certainly wasn't any fun.Big guy and I appear to be near the end of this year's "Virus that Cancelled Xmas".
