The wife is planning that road trip through Quebec. Now I understand it's 2 weeks. She wants to stay in a few places for 2 or 3 days and not drive every day. I wanted to hit Nova Scotia, but that seems out of the question because the kids don't want to drive that far.

It's not them driving!

Our drive through Quebec in 2022 was maybe 10 days? Stayed mostly in the St Lawrence Valley, though, hiking in the big parks. Saguenay Fjord was probably our favourite stop. Even met some cruisers there (East Coast cruises sometimes make port stops there).

Quebec has a goddamn fjord?

Does Norway know?
Scary as it sounds, yes. The Southernmost fjord in the Northern Hemisphere or something like that. There's a national (=provincial) park with nice hiking and views and then Chicoutimi is at the tip (that's where we crashed for the night).

La Malbaie is a nice spot, too. Right on the St. Lawrence with some parks nearby and a lovely hotel where Justin Trudeau hosted G7 once. We stayed two nights there, I think.

And then we went to Quebec City and visited Jacques Cartier National Park (again, a Quebec national park, not a Canada national park).

We originally had a more ambitious trip planned that would have had us going to New Brunswick but that was the year the Maritimes got hammered by a hurricane so we cancelled that leg.

Sambuca and coke taste divine

And on my bike ride back home, under the blazing full moon, I got to see 3 equidistwbt stars right at a mountaintop

Like they live there

What a trip

Good morning! For good veins, even in treatment was postponed again, milestone birthdays, favourite places to escape, bike rides and moonlight, and whatever else may arise, we gather round the Coffee Cart for chat, support, and community. We do this over tea and coffee, and squares and brownies. The coffee is fresh brewed, tea water hot, and baked goodies pleasantly warm from the oven. All is ready, all are welcome. Come join the conversations!

I still can't get over Quebec's fjord. That's like England stealing Greece's sculptures.

There's a small one in Saint John, NB ... the reversing falls where the Irving's pore in and out ... mostly one way thing ... they are not into sharing also ... likely in cahoots with that other incorporate ****er! Is an imagine forming out of ... know where? Thus the mist ... realists know nothing of the other side of the story ... Harvey what's-his-name!

Mortals will not go deeper unless hammered as nihilist IHC (close to ilke). Accept exceptions to the physical roué elle ... UR dancing with the dandy ... a grand story of Dauid in the street ... can't be a dud of myth as it has stretched a long way ... myths are like that ... insubstantial! Check them out ...

While fjord is a Norwegian word and they are famous for them, the basic structure of a long narrow bay with steep sides is found in a number of places. Alaska has quite a few and I think there are some in Northern BC even.

Look, if I want someone to ruin my jokes, I'll tell them to my wife.

Now there you are like Ray Stevens ... caught between a rock and a hard place ... Eric the Awful ... some guy in Louisiana sung about her as Marie Lave au ... demanding a clean up ... of the activity of those characters taking treasures ... returns? Be witching ...

So many fine lines to be joined ...

And I was amazed when I found out France was so close to Newfoundland!
(Saint Pierre and Miquelon)

Is that moot to those not running rum to the mainland; perhaps to those that do as well? Everything goes to observe how we handle mistakes and blunders ... some will not touch eM!

I actually knew that. As a kid I collected stamps and looked up the places they came from. In my mature years I wonder what the heck I should do with thousands of stamps!
My mother had almost a fulltime job when she decided to inventory and value her late father's stamp collection. It was just sitting in boxes in our basement when I was a kid, along with some other stuff from her family.

Yup, St. Pierre France is 15km from Newfoundland and takes 1 1/2 hrs. by ferry and you will need your passport to go through customs. Alot of French cuisine and mostly French speaking.

Good morning! Today begins that period of time in the Western Church called Holy Week. For those who observe it, have a blessed week. We think today of fjords around the world, and suddenly realizing that France is much closer than we once thought, spoiling jokes, and cats. These, plus whatever comes up today, come with us to the Coffee Cart for discussion and support over coffee and tea. The coffee is fresh brewed all day long, tea water hot, and the cupcakes of several kinds are delectable. All is ready, everyone welcome. Come in and join the conversations!
