Just read on CBC news about a man who has been in hospital for ages following a brain injury. This one hit home as we had several battles with Sask Health following our son's brain injury. It is a situation that demands careful listening from everyone involved. Package solutions don't work well because every brain injury has individual effects,

As a gamily member I can understand the difficulties all round. However, it isn't good care to just stick someone in a hospital room. Neither is it good care to put them in a facility that neglects their physical care.

I am horrified about this case! Sure wish I could give him and his sister a comforting hug.

The stuff that goes on in pro and proto situations is awesome ... in the dash for profit much of the mass is eliminated as wasteful baggage ... biblical!

Character flies in all directions and vectors ... pric Kelly? That's elle urchin ... spot ...

Another inch or so of snow here. Shoveled but it was light so I was able to do the entire driveway solo in 15 minutes or so. Much better than last couple rounds when it took the two of us 40 or 45. Good morning and Happy Friday!!

Good morning. I'm expecting a call from the cancer clinic this morning. My neutrophils are not high enough for treatment. They are only .72 and have to be above 1. They only went from .59, which is critical to .72 (low) in a week. It will be interesting to see how the doctor(s) responds. I understand there's a shot they can give to boost neutrophils.

This is a frustrating process

Proliferate, neutrophils, thrive in the wonderful world of Northwind as she keeps on keepin on

God, guide the staff helping her
And give strength and courage to her and her family

7:15 AM on Saturday and I'm taking the 90 minute taxi ride to Seoul.

We have a "Teacher's College" today - a guest lecturer, most probably from another church in Seoul, will give us a two hour lecture. And there'll be a short worship service. <- all in Korean, of course.

It's a bit of a strain on me, but two of my friends help me get through the lecture. One by whispering translations to me, and the other by translating into her laptop that I can see

And then afterwards... a fun group of us are going out to lunch at an Italian place

Good morning! The weekend is here, hope it is a good one for all. For better medical treatment for persons with brain injuries, postponed treatments because of low levels of neutrophils, light snow, lectures, Tesla "trucks," and all the other stuff that arises awaits our discussion around the Coffee Cart. Coffee is fresh brewed, tea water is hot, and the cinnamon buns warm from the oven. Come join in the conversations and the goodies! All are welcome, and all is ready.

Got a cartoon today where the Dr. says he has to do the X-ray again because the first was over exposed ... the patient stands there with an arm that looks like ash ... and the Dr appears blin duet ... unobservant? It is how we are conditioned ... "don't look a' lice!" Bugs us ... those rare objects from the outside perspective ... not extremely nihil is-tic ... attached and affiliated? It is a dark web ... psychotic enigma ... or just something alternate to how it appeared?

Triumphant bifurcation ... and contrary to believe the stinking thing flew! Carrion ... the maters we accept are unfiltered ... because of little training ... considerable observation prerequisite ... life is dissonant ... earth shaking ...

Our driveway made a great tobogganing hill on Family day weekend; however, not so good for some of our visitors. They start, then decide to bail.
Our family has no issue getting up it, in part due to the quality of snow tires, in part due to the cars we drive, and in part due to experience with hill and snow driving. (We tell delivery drivers to call us when they are at the base of the hill, and we walk down to get our delivery. we've had to push a few out that had crappy tires and little driving experience in snow. They keep trying and sliding further and further off the lane)

The entrance to our driveway is paved, and then, after 20' or so of the downhill dip, it is gravel. (Our next door neighbour's entrance and our entrance are basically a triple-wide entrance. When they paved their drive, we had the company pave our portion and a bit of our lane).
I do love gravel as it is good for the environment (tree roots, etc). In addition, the cost of paving our long driveway would be prohibitive
Once you get to the top, it is paving stones at the front by the garage, the ramp to the back, and in the back area.

We have an ATV with a plow attachment that does a good job of pushing snow.
We also now have the big old John Deere snowblower running. (it had been out of commission).
The ATV pushes the snow to the sides, and then, the snowblower can throw the snow into the trees. (As it wasn't working, we had developed some big snowbanks that we first shovelled over the hill, and now we chop down and let the snowblower be used to throw the snow).
An ATV/plow is a much cheaper solution than say a skidsteer or a tractor with blower. With the gravel driveway, you can't scrape like you would an asphalt one.

Our current issue is that there is enough snow down, that placing sand isn't helping a lot, and scraping isn't getting low enough.

We have a lot of snow.

There is a path through the septic system area, up and across the lane and into the "back 40" which appears to be coyote trail.
