Stay warm everyone. The BC Peace Region had -20 and lots of snow the other day. It was 11 degrees, above zero, yesterday! Crazy. It was warmer there than here yesterday.
 
The neighbour to the East moved out (to a retirement home) but his son-in-law and a granddaughter (my neighbour has 11 grandkids or something like that and I think the first great-grands have arrived, too) came over to shovel. They live nearby.

The neighbour to the West has a blower and an adult son living with them so they sometimes do mine rather than the other way around.

This is common for people value something about it ... we don't know what just yet if anything ... ignorance is more valued ... until you discover the void ... M'N is it dark in ere ... maybe it is the season ...
 
Well, my sister is arriving at my house tomorrow evening to deliver her snow blower to me. It's a bit big for both me and the driveway, and what I'm going to relocate in the garage (the dump pile would be a good option to get rid of...) to make room for it, I do not know.

I suspect I've been recently cursed with "may you live in interesting times"...

I'd give you a hand but no grieving kids next week. My daughter has a school concert and her guitar class is performing.

It will be awful. I hope I'm not expected to sit through that.
 
I had a "Ladies of Grace Christmas Chinese Dinner" last week. Entertainment was TBA. Most of you know exactly how I feel about popular Christmas songs. Imagine my delight when I discovered the the "entertainment" was a pianist who leads singing hours at local seniors homes leading us singing Christmas songs. There were a couple of carols sprinkled in, but it was largely awful, as is the piano in Memorial Hall.
 
Granddaughters are tucked in. Hopefully will sleep through the night.
My sister & I are watching a movie, resting after a busy day.

It's good to have her here.
 
We went to see Wicked this afternoon and followed it with a great dinner at a local pub/restaurant. Yum. The movie was pretty awesome. It reminded me of the musicals back in the day like Oklahoma, Sound of Music etc. Big and bold with great music and effects.
 
Good Saturday morning! More snowfall in some places, cleaning out of driveways, church fundraisers that may be rescheduled because of weather, visits from family, snow blower and how to store it, movie and a dinner, and things that will come up today; we are here for it. Cloudy out but no new snow. From the forecast, it appears that I may be done with shoveling for a bit. In fact, we might lose some of this week's mess with positive temps and showers in the forecast.

No big plans for the weekend. Writing, some housecleaning, nothing big.

Driveway is shoveled, new snowblower, which is bigger than me, has been delivered and installed in garage. Original owner is coming for tea and instructions on its use tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck this winter. It's going to be a season of slush removal from what I can see.
 
We had a clear afternoon with no rain so we decided to have a fire. Some friends came around. It was nice. One of the benefits of being "trailer trash" :cool:
 
And the sister compressed the dump pile while I was out shopping and crap with the big guy today and is renting a van for me to dispose of said pile on
Thursday. My family do a pretty good job of looking after me...
 
As I mentioned elsewhere, my son threw the car door open and hit the door of a truck today. I'm always on him about being careful opening doors in parking lots, and I reminded him 5 seconds before he did this, but he was getting frustrated with his seatbelt and "forgot". I left a note on the windshield of the truck with my apologies and my contact info before rushing into the store and back out again, but they were gone. I haven't gotten a call or text. I feel awful. it wasn't a big hit, but definitely a dent. Can almost surely be taken care of with paintless dent repair, which I would pay for.

My son was despondent. He knew what he did and I had to assure him everything would be okay. I offered he could help with the house and "earn" the money back. He didn't seem too happy with that idea, lol. I thought it would make him feel better that he could help make it right. Oh well.
 
Good morning! For respite from the snow in some places, or more snow in others, clear driveways, responsible handling of dents-in-cars situations, successful events for congregations, and all the other things that will arise today, we gather round the Coffee Cart for conversation and support, laughter or tears, as well as coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cinnamon buns. Witnessed a car accident yesterday.

It was a busy road just before a road about. The person who was responsible kept driving so we followed. They did stop eventually to look at their car. We took photos of car and advised driver we witnessed and the person he hit was waiting at the roundabout.

He didn't seem in a hurry to go back.

Saw the person who was hit and they had just given up and were driving away. We followed them, caught up and flagged them over.

They were so thankful

Newer vehicle, front bumper and fender damaged (at least)
