I have one of her project bags. It's perfect.
Mine might not be perfect, but also not bad. After all, I had two trial runs. I have three pockets made, sized for a pair of scissors, a pen, a pack of tissue and her ruler, which I made a cardboard pattern from to have the exact sizing. It sits in two loops at the bottom of the bag. There will be lots of fabric left, so I might make another small bag for her knitting needles. I hope the postal service is not going to strike too long, so I can send it right off once its finished.

If if might be for knitting projects,. add an internal loop with a snap fastener to run your yard through without tangles.

Just gave the digital cat her breakfast..

Redhead (remember her?) and I used to have a virtual kitty we made with keyboard symbols. I don't remember how we did it.

Good morning P3, you are up early again.
My real cat ate her specialized cat food half way this morning- behavior change from looking at it, looking at me and then ignoring both of us.( secretly eating it later). Her trick now is to eat some and then come purring at me- like saying- I ate some, now give me friskies, temptations or any other good stuff.
Not going to happen.
My food expenses have increases, instead of 80 cents a can I pay now $5 for four meals. As long as I don’t have to try to get a pill into her….

Good morning @Mrs.Anteater
Yes I still seem to be on Atlantic time but it's getting better.
Cats are such funny little creatures. We had one once who got up into the open space over the kitchen cupboards. She sat there with her paws folded under her watching us search for her. We called her too but she stayed silent. She was usually a very vocal kitty. Haha. Great memory of a favorite cat

When I was growing up we were absolutely expected to eat everything on our plates. But we were not made to sit at the table until we ate it. Some families did this back in the day. We simply were not allowed any snacking until the next scheduled meal.

I think this was extreme. But the pendulum seems to have swing too far in the other direction. Not to downplay the reality of food allergies and other genuine issues. But for heaven's sake. Can't you just eat what you are given in someone's home? Pick out the mushrooms, say ? Eat the Christmas turkey without expecting an alternative to be prepared? ( Yes this is a true story. Not in the paradox family if anyone is wondering)
Our family: I sat at the table many a night staring at cold peas.

We did not make our kids eat foods after discovering youngest was anaphylactic to nuts. All complex proteins were a problem. Peas made him terribly sick

Not unusual in the parenting styles of the day. I'm grateful my folks didn't go to this extent. But I think they taught me to ignore my body's signals of hunger and fullness. It was my mom who determined how much I ate.

Thanks for this reply Nancy. Living low fat in the world is probably more difficult than I have ever thought about.

I completely agree with your comments about churches and their sugary feasts. Same goes for their dinner events and potluck lunches

I have even noticed that some congregations pride themselves on having better food than the church down the street. We love to eat here, they say. Don't they think other folks like to eat too?

Don't get me started. I hate the element of competition that creeps in even within a congregation. Also I dislike potluck events very much. I attend the occasional one though.
We always had a bag of Granny Smith apples in the car. It was my son's go-to for food.

We went to church potlucks a reasonable amount. I liked the social aspect as did the rest of the family. It was an easy meal where people would try things.
We always made a dish that my son knew was ours and was safe. He would append it with other items that he knew were safe for him. He also didn't have to eat a lot at them, it was the social that was the most important.

I know that doesn't work for everyone, but, it was how he got to be part of the social group, and enjoy the company of all.

I can take or leave the potlucks at church but I get what you are saying about the social aspect.

When we still had my mother in-law and father-in-law we often traveled to their place for the weekend. I always took my own fruit with me because they seldom had any in the house.

I also took 2% milk for my coffee. They all used full cream or half and half. Finally I figured out I could mix skim milk (always on hand) with the cream and voila! Same taste as 2% milk.

He also didn't have to eat a lot at them, it was the social that was the most important.

I remember a cute blond boy who loved to swing around the poles in the basement and run around. His mom spoke of her spirited child. :) Good memories. Your boys were good kids.

Nuts are loaded with complex essential oils ... some folk can only stand so much ... like my elder daughter reacts as if she is deficient on some nutrient.

This seems to run parallel to reactions to ole and ester ... there are limits to what becomes aggressive and ugly with excess of one or the other ...

I've noticed than in Pubs with some getting riled over a beer or two and other being calmed in to a quiet howl or hollow ... that's Dan aius ... a different slip to I saith ... as Isaiah .. an old word for Lambda or Light but powers would sooner keep you in the dark until it is too late to correct ... there Eire ...

May resemble Japhth as the PHTHA witch is nothing but a word ... when nature wanted no sounds when manipulating your SOL! Rest now damn spot ... as you are surrounded ... ʘ ... the bi labial clic ... clique? Few grasp as they never venture into dead and exotic tongues as it is felt that are pas 'd ...

And there it comes up as biblical again ... but denied in depth as Jonah ... some say Joananne as a spirit of the night ... Jo Anei?

Good morning, I started an early pot of coffee and brought some scones with Devon cream. I have had little sleep because since our fire alarm was inspected, around the time of the time change, it's been beeping at increasing intervals. Now it's every 10 minutes.....and it's right outside of the bedroom, grrrrr. Hopefully the service person will be here today!

Good morning! Happy Monday! Thanks to Waterfall for the coffee, scones and Devon cream. Tea water is hot, squares and brownines are here, and more coffee is ready to go. Come join us around the Coffee Cart for chat, support, and community, as we cover digital cats, food issues, weekends with grandkids, complex essential oils in nuts, and anything else that may come up today. All are welcome, all is ready. Come and get it!!

The scones remind me we just watched the second Downton Abbey movie. The third one will be out in 2025.

We have also returned to the original series and are giving it a second go.
