Suspecting a slip of the mouse/tap finger as well. I've managed it a few times. It can be changed and there's no time limit like there is for editing posts. What's so funny Jayne? I hope that was a mistake.
Vibes, Northwind. Sorry to hear but I guess you knew this one was coming
I too hope your friend is at peace now. These are hard losses. My friend who was going to use MAID died last night. She lived with metastatic breast cancer for over ten years. The last year or so was tough for her. I hope she's at peace now. It's a cruel disease.
The annual welcome back BBQ at the park is this afternoon. We've met many new friends so far this year and have reconnected with old friends. It should be a nice event. Hopefully the weather will be cooperative. The forecast is good.
Doubtful you would find such a similar quick connection in established neighbourhoods.
@Northwind …so sorry for the loss of your friend. I love that you have been making new friends.
We have a few great walking locations a short drive away. But we seldom use them.I like walking. Wish I had some more nice areas to walk in. The valley on the West side of my neighbourhood is nice but the trail is really too short. To walk along the river, I have to drive to one of the parks first, which feels a bit counter productive. Perhaps I will feel like getting my bike out again next summer, which makes that river trail feasible again.
SorryWhat's so funny Jayne? I hope that was a mistake.
My like in this case is acknowledgement. This is our seventh winter here. We've got friends from our first winter and others we've picked up along the way. This park has a wonderful winter community.
Unfortunately that's the hazard of meeting other women with metastatic breast cancer. They die. We had quite a large group about five years ago. Now there's only two of us left. The other woman and I'll keep in touch. We were going to go out for dinner on Tuesday with our husbands along as well. Unfortunately she got a cold so couldn't go. We'll get together soon.
Same, especially for my after-work exercise. Though with the looming time change (Nov. 3), those might be coming to an end before long. Already it is getting dark by the time I get home (usually leave 5:30-5:45 and do 45-60 minutes). On a weekend, I tend to be more willing to go afield for a walk.I like opening my front door and getting started right then
Do newly diagnosed metastatic breast cancer folks join?
I'm sorry, Northwind.
So sad to hear you have lost another friend Northwind. It is indeed a nasty disease that no one deserves. My friend who was going to use MAID died last night.
