It actually is longer than this and slim. It doesn’t really look like it has a stinger, but I could be wrong.
Definitely a wasp but not 100% sure of the species. If it looks like it has a sting, be careful. Unlike bees, wasps keep their stinger and can attack multiple times. Taping over the holes so it can't access the nest might work to drive it off though I am not sure. I have never seen one build a nest that way before but, again, I am unsure of the species. Certainly doesn't seem to be a yellow jacket, which build fairly big, ball-shaped nests.

One group called them daubers ... another calls the schitz bugs ... they are not really aggressive but will sting if threatened ...

May resemble a gentile Judy 'n ... diabolical as Sami that 'I've been condemned for speaking of ... isn't that the devil?

Yet better the devil you know than the alternate ... some say knowing is troublesome ... and that may prove to be for those that are not overly comfortable with their hoards ... give till it hurts?

Then there are those that will not give no matter how painful ... psychopaths of a different order? The choices are very open and the room is extensive and deep ... with corners for the horsemen to hide in ... different shades ...

Every bit of info and intelligence requires its own story for cover ... so the deficient kahn a void ide ... beyond that I am not allowed to tell for extensive knowledge is often found to be wicked by circumcised factions ...

If this were my handle, I'd wait until just before dark, and spray the hell out of it with WD-40. Next day, give it a good splash with soapy water, then tape over the handle.

I shifted one bin of mulch, fed fish at big guys twice, emptied a "baking cupboard" to accommodate a new boarder over there, and tidied the fridge. Scored two nice capris, plus a top that doesn't work, and two canisters at Value Village.

Holy s**t. Accident on 400, when I passed, there were still fire trucks there, traffic down to one lane, on holiday weekend. All this traffic has entered City, and EVERYTHING is all f***ed up.

Never heard of WD40 being good for that, though my son said once they have a grease cleaner spray or so in the shop that works much more effective than the wasp sprays. I decided to wait until the early morning hours.
Anybody else recommending WD over wasp spray?

I have successfully attacked wasps with WD40 (building a home under a wooden entrance step to back door), and seems like your son has heard same. I'm sure wasp spray works as well.

Good morning! Happy Canada Day. Headaches and wasps, air quality and lawn work that needs to be done, early fireworks and WD40 as a way of ridding the place of wasps, all kinds of other ideas, thoughts, and themes to come. The Coffee Cart is up and running, come on in and join the fun!

If one imagined oiled stingers would that be an abstract dream for some purposes? Many wouldn't admit to it in a world of hating the pathology of learning ... it is the painful experience of life ...

Many find it easier to ignore ... thus it goes away? I have doubts about the reciprocal ... not that it exists but the sheer timing ... latent followings?

We are often slow on our onus ... when dissociated!

Argh. 400 is bad enough on a holiday weekend without having a major crash, too.

Good morning! Hope everyone has a good long weekend. At least the smoke seems to have moved on here.

Nothing special planned for Canada Day. Husband is still in recovery mode. And my mom is on her own (sister is away for the weekend) so my other sister and I are making sure Mom has her meds, bath, exercise and meals. My other sister stays overnight with her. If the rain holds off and my hip isn't too sore, I might go and pick strawberries at a Upick place nearby. That would be fun, and the red and white of strawberries are a little patriotic, aren't they?

Can a good time be had when so many would like to take advantage of their neighbour ... especially those neighbours that are taken to be unfamiliar ... even if we have no interest in learning about them ... world wide naivete and greening up ... vegetation?

If a sibling set is conjured one will rise and the other will be buried to hide that knowhow ... shadow character building or personal development disorder?

Healing may entail a thin thread across the abyss ... a hanging item!

So, pest control almost completed. Wasp killer on, then scrubbed with soap as suggested by Bette, that got the mud soaking. But still had to go into every little hole and pick out 5-10 larva- and they weren’t all dead, the mud had protected them. Well, if they can make it into adulthood on my lawn, they are welcome, just not to my BBQ. Now drying in the sun before putting the tape on. The larva were kind of disgusting, but one has to say, nature is truly smart ( except for the choice of building place in this event).

Another bug that is smart but disgusting is the lily beetle. They're bright red, but with a dirt-brown underside. If you disturb them, they simply fall off the plant they're busy decimating, and land on their back so you can't see them. They lay eggs in the soil under the lilies, and the larvae, equally voracious and damaging, are these brownish grubby things who make themselves unattractive to everything by smearing themselves with their own feces. They're just yuck.

Went camping Thursday at Voyageur. Our daughter and granddaughter joined us that evening. Good day yesterday except for biting insects. Morning started well today with only a light shower. When we finished breakfast a thunderstorm started and we were packing up in rain and then pouring rain. Paused two our three times when rain was too intense. Soaking wet when we got home. Having a mice afternoon.

Good morning! Sunday of a holiday weekend is here. Air quality, major accidents on a holiday weekend, pest control, little marvels of nature, camping with family in the rain. For chats about these and other topics, we gather round about the Coffee Cart, for hot beverages, support, and conversation. Come on in, all are welcome.

At 10:30 last evening I remembered I had not downloaded the powerpoint I need for the two services I am leading this morning including a Zoom service. I did not have a link for the file so tried modifying a link for past fikes and failed. At 11 I sent emails to the two people who could help me. One of them was still up and her email with the link was in my inbox this morning. A good way to start the day. Gray and very humid here this morning.
