That's how I would do it Pinga - that way you get some time to spend in both places. It is a pretty easy drive - it just takes a while.

Oooo - Vegas - it's like Disney World for adults - so over the top. Enjoyed a brief visit there a few years ago - on our southwest travel expedition some years ago. A few days in Vegas was more than enough for me! We went to see the Cirque show "O" - it was truly amazing - with a theatre built especially for its water focus.

ho ho never left the Casino. Fun Fun Fun.

We did 3 days in Vegas, then drove out to the Grand Canyon for a couple days, then a couple more days back in Vegas (including our day at Red Rock) before catching a flight home. Stayed at Holiday Inn Club Vacations in a nice 1 bedroom apartment for a fairly reasonable price (Club Vacations is their time share resort brand and I think we did get offered a sales pitch).

Now, if nature is your thing, Grand Teton and Yellowstone, our next trip after Vegas, might be your thing. Flew into Jackson Hole, rented an SUV (a Chevy Equinox, ironically built less than an hour from my office in Ingersoll), spent a couple nights at a cabin in Grand Teton, then a few more in Yellowstone. Mountains, geysers, canyons, wildlife (the first time I've actually seen a herd of wild bison and it was spectacular) - there's plenty there to see.

Hmmmm - you've got me thinking now Mendalla - what month did you visit?

Vegas or Wyoming? Vegas was March Break (2nd week in March), Wyoming was late August.

We were a bit too early for the Grand Canyon. The trail heads were rather icy. Wyoming in August is busy (ie. start looking for accomodations for Yellowstone now).

Wyoming :-) We were in Grand Canyon & southwest (3 week trip) in late April - and it was very COLD when we woke up in the morning - in the minus temperature range. Due of course to the elevation. The North Rim is not even open at that time of year.

We have to go out to BC this July - to meet our dtr's 'mother in law' (it's common law relationship - but that's who she is essentially); she's coming from Australia for a visit - so it's a great opportunity. I wonder if we might drive down from there? Might have to get out my maps ...

No church this morning - got a call last evening that for some unknown reason there was no running water in the building - hence the cancellation. We started off for Tews & Websters waterfalls (near Hamilton) thinking the ice formations would be terrific; but weather deteriorated to grayness & flurries, so changed that plan. :( Another day perhaps ...

Interesting idea. I've only been to those spots in the summer (hiked up to Webster's from Dundas a couple times, in fact when I lived in Hamilton) but they would probably be nice in winter, too. Have you seen the pictures of Niagara Falls from last week? Spectacular ice formations.

Yes - the Niagara ice is amazing this year! I've been enjoying the photos & vids on google & youtube.

They said on the news last night, they expect the ice to last until May
I'm hoping you mean the ice at Niagara Falls, not the ice on my sidewalk!

The ice formations at Tews Falls often last well into the spring, because it's a deep narrow gorge and doesn't get any direct sunshine at the bottom.

I had a pretty good evening tonight. I think I was actually less sick then Chemguy, although I had short periods of bad coughing that he didn't get. The sleep I got from 8am-ish to 1pm seemed to do me a lot of good! Hopefully I'll still be feeling this great tomorrow.
Doing treatments closer together seems to have helped. It's not something I really want to do, but pushing my treatments closer together regularly might be something I need.

yeah, what is this crud goin' round?

finally getting over the constant escape attempts by my lungs -- made the lab giggle today when they phoned to tell me i tested negative for strep -- i let out a HOO RAY

sheesh

lots of healing
(and love n warmth n fuzzy wuzzies)
to y'all

Ditto, Inna. Long cough, doesn't' want to go away.... hack, hack.

Was on a conference call today. Now, I have a deep woman's voice (2nd alto in choir) at the best of times.
Today, I think I was lower than a low bass...... oh, yeah, it was raspy, rough and deep.

I had a few people trying to figure out who was talking and presuming it was one of the guys. I was the only female on the phone. Rather humorous.

I also will admit my patience is at an all time low. This means that I don't spend as much time doing the 5 levels of why or leading folks to looking for options. I just want s**t done, you know?

It is engineering week at work, so there are competitions. One of them is a math challenge. Never bothered to do them before, but this year, they put them online. Did the first one today, and submitted my answer. It was fun. Reminded me when I was in high school and was a part of the math games. I was the anomaly in the group. I was female. I was hmmm... wild. I was younger. I loved just doing the puzzles. Some were there, as it would get them places (or so they hoped). I just loved doing the puzzles.

Hoping everyone who has been feeling sick is feeling better. I am doing a bit better today, so hoping it is running its course.

Just found out my brother & sister-in-law are only 1.5 hers from where we are going in Florida, so, hoping we can all get together for lunch on Friday, including my older cousins who stays there all winter.

May you day be a good one, may you find someone to smile upon, may you find something to laugh about, and may you find something that makes you ponder.

Enjoy your Florida trip Pinga.
I had a lovely day cross country skiing-pulling a 10 year old in a pulk (a special cross country sled). My muscles are a bit sore today-mind you we did do all the big hills-both up and down! Third time pulling the pulk this year and it gets easier each time.
I was surprised by the instructor today-she asked the large group to sort themselves into the "athletic" and "non-athletic" group. Students were reluctant to choose the "non-athletic" group. The instructor SHOULD know better. In a quiet moment I did gently suggest a "fast" and a "slower" group might have been better labels to use.

That sounds like fun Tabitha - except for pulling the ten year old. That sounds like hard work! We used to XC ski a lot and by the time they were ten my kids could ski better than me (but not their dad).

Hope your trip to Florida goes well Pinga.
