I'm wallowing tonight. My difficulties with Service Canada have set off a cascade of feelings. Grief is exploding. I'm wallowing. I know I'll get through this. It sucks nonetheless.

Hugs if wanted.
Service Canada/CRA aren't great to deal with at the best of times.

Thankfully the people I dealt with were decent. It wasn't their fault. It also wasn't their fault I landed where I did. Thankfully I have decent emotional regulation skills otherwise I could be in jail or the psych unit tonight
Glad you had good people, the systems could use some improving! Sorry it was such a hard day and I didn't help it earlier.

We are told we must follow protocol ... variants like mental process and thought are out ... like an OBI ... yet we cannot see the parallel ... it is law ... something to be blind to? There's a great deal to what's beyond that ... some say an extensive hole where thought fell OSH ide ...

Good morning! As we discuss four freedoms, great grandchildren, and the technology that can make visits possible over distances, repurposed cookie jars now serving 'higher purposes' (can any purpose be higher than being the guardian of chocolate chip cookies??) dealing with government red tape, and many other things, let us pause round the coffee cart, and start the morning right. All is ready, help yourself.

Are there any facilities with both? It's good to have goals.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I'm sorry to hear this.
Could you contact your MP to see if the process could be sped up? Not sure if they can help, but worth asking?

I already contacted my MP. I cc'd the MP on the Service Canada page who I presume has the portfolio that includes pension

Routine doctor's appointment today and we move to another park. We'll be closer to my sister and will be stationary until August 29. Stationary will be welcome.

I sent an email to my MP last night. I received a response from his caseworker this morning. I've filled out a consent form so they can help expedite my application.

Hope your situation gets sorted out soon Northwind.
Today I've been mostly in the kitchen - dealing with an enormous zucchini a friend gave me before she left for camping. So far, 4 loaves of zucchini bread, a dozen chocolate zucchini muffins, and sourdough starter rising for a bake this evening of sourdough zucchini muffins! There might even be some left after that - likely some will make an appearance in tonight's salad. :D The sun is shining beautifully tho & now I'm off to the school garden to water some seeds (carrots, bush beans, summer squash) that I've recently planted - fingers crossed to see some germination soon, that is if the squirrels stop their messing about!!

I dropped into Service Canada to drop off my application today. The woman I dealt with was a dismissive wog with the personality of a wet paper towel. It's done. I've also sent my consent to the MP.

I read a line recently about making sure your car doors are locked at night because this is the time of year when neighbours will look for unlocked cars just to leave their excess zucchini behind.

Hmm. So I could get free zucchini just by leaving the car out?

Mrs. M has a recipe she makes with zucchini and eggplant so it wouldn't be around for long. It think the recipe was originally supposed to be Sicilian or something like that but she's given it a bit of a Chinese spin.

@Northwind It is weird how differently people treat customers/clients/patients - spreading helpfulness and joy or a wet blanket of gloom. Sorry you met a soggy paper towel type. I just phoned my pharmacy, that has always treated me well, to ask them to refill my prescriptions. I got a new person who said "Oh my. You DO have a lot of prescriptions on file. Are you SURE you want to renew them ALL". My sarcastic tongue wanted to flap, but I kept it under control enough to point out that it wasn't MY choice to need so many meds, and they were ALL prescribed by trained doctors who probably knew what they were doing!
