Good happy morning! Lots of rain here yesterday afternoon and evening, still sprinkling this morning. As we speak of weather, and berries, and as other events and topics pop up, let us gather round the coffee cart, for conversation and camaraderie. All is ready.

Very gray and feeling a bit warm here. We will do the grout for the new tile backsplash this morning and yardwork if it does not rain. I am preaching next on September 25 and the reading from 1 Timothy 6:6-19 fits my theology very well. The key phrase is seize the eternal life implying we can experience the sense of eternity in this life through how we live and see life.

Can a mortal seize eternal things except in bits ... due to mortal composition of the subject? This may extend considerably ... if a composition manages to get out there ... is that abstract production? Thus we make things form nothing ... what my grandfather claimed to be lacking in something ... practical nothing? Thoughts like word are manipulative and thus flo' ...

With void in the containment ... perhaps a rush or flood of catastrophic proportion ... damus notre! (Another cuss) additional interference in the previous trek? Some say the disaster at Notre Dame due to the toxic fallout ... poesy?

Does loss of perception cause blossoming of unknowns ... thus abstractions! Blooming what's ... they may grow on you unless solidified by the pious modes; un movables?

I'm severely concerned. My grandson and partner are wilderness camping at Narrow Hills Provincial Park. There is a tornado warning for there. They won't know about it as there is no cell phone coverage there! They have very minimal equipment and are a long walk from their car.

They issue tornado warnings all the time. Someone starts their Dyson and the meteorologists all get in a tizzy.

Nothing to be worried about.

Actually it is vary unusual for us to get a tornado warning. We had a humungous thunder storm where I live a couple of hours from their campsite. Still concerned for them.

Warning must be over now, right? Hopefully all was fine.

We've been getting thunderstorms but nothing serious. Was with family yesterday, kids were swimming during some rain. Rain was harder today.

Good morning! We think today of people in paths of tornado warnings, keeping safe. As well we bring other topics to the morning. Let us gather round the coffee cart, and offer (and find) support. All is ready. Come on in.

Then we are expected to be interviewed on exit ... like the Prodigal Son being called up over intent! When put to writ you never know what's wrote, or rot! Mostly due to legitimacy in gramma ... the vernacular creates shifts in how/hoe's expressed and received ...

Tread lightly in meanings because you don't know how anything is really interpreted in part ... folk are touchy about how they are established in the unmovable even if it moves ... hardly noticeable? Heavenly creep ...

The warning was removed last night. As there is no cell coverage I have no idea how they coped. Will be phoning the Park office as soon as they open to see if they have any news about how the area was affected. I read about some flipped RV's at one campground.

No news sounds promising. Hopefully you hear from them fairly soon.

When we used to go back country camping (canoe trips) we would always be required to file a route plan prior to departure into the park; so hopefully this sort of practice is common & parks staff would know where to check on people after the storm. We also followed this practice when on crown land, filing I think with local RCMP so at least someone would know roughly where we were.
Hoping your family is safe Kay.

They registered with the Park ahead of time including the code for the back country campsite they would be at. Once they were within cell coverage today they told me about their adventures. They really like the area and the trails - and learned some more about packing light and taking what is needed! Nothing terribly difficult to deal with though, just torrential rain and some wind. Elsewhere in the area there were damaged trailers and cars. A lot of tenters left before the storm hit. A couple of roads were temporarily blocked by trees etc..

I hope all is well with your son @KayTheCurler

We are in a small town in BC, not far from Kelowna. The park is a town park and is nice enough. We were told the park check-in time was 2 pm so we made our travel plans to arrive about 2. When we got here the office door was closed and there was a note with a number to call. This is fairly common in smaller parks. I phoned the number and the park manager informed me she wouldn't be there until 3 because she was getting a massage. She said we could proceed to our site and that she would call when she got here. We continued our conversation by text. She said she had emailed me. I told her I hadn't gotten the email. At any rate, she found my site number and we could get set up. She was slightly apologetic yet made excuses. I was not impressed. She called someone in and I was able to check in later. Turns out she recorded my email as @gmail.com instead of what it really is. No wonder I didn't get the email. We were booked into one site for last night then had to move this morning. As it turns out this site was empty last night so we could have gone straight there. Sheesh.

Now that we're resettled and we've gotten groceries, we're chilling and relaxing

Unfortunately, people sometimes assume that one if they are somehow missing the domain because it is so common.

Muggy here but supposed to be hotter on the weekend. Did go for a walk and do some work outside but I must have looked like I ran a marathon when I came in. So much sweat.

Off to the first family get-together since COVID tomorrow. We've just had it and everyone else is at least double-vaxxed, most are triple. I think the two elders of the family were getting their fourth this week. So not too worried about this one like I might have been a year or two ago.

Aw well, competence in various aspects of life varies, yes?

And good news re the grand and partner, Kay. Isn't it nice to know that they learned from your example?

Warm here today, and I took the hound on a rather overlong walk late this afternoon, after work. She was almost lagging behind me by the time we got home, which doesn't happen. But she is almost 12, and half husky with that thick undercoat. And now I am being stared down as if she's starving. Dinner is 7-7:30 here, and it's 6:57...

I am sitting outside in the shade here. It is apparently 24 here. I needed to put on my sweatshirt because it's cool in the shade

Our son and DIL were very ill with Covid in July and both are very fit and triple vaxxed! Apparently, it is the Omicron BA.5 circulating in Ottawa, that evades protection from the vaccines.
