It kinda sucks in my opinion.

Agreed. He's sort of bla-blahing about "good blood flow around the area"; "obviously not recent, or there'd have been substantial pain", and I'm thinking "why not let sleeping dogs lie?"

I hope all goes well @BetteTheRed.

Yeah, I think it will be fine. Noting parents' poor history, but also that my favorite uncle, still living in his home (albeit with help) will be 91 in a week.

Good morning! As we ponder decorations, dinners and doctor appointments, and the myriad of other topics like weather and the meaning of 'Maundy,' let us pause and wonder, as we join in spirit round the coffee cart. In recognition of Good Friday, the dishes are draped in black.

It's wierd. I am normally very active in Holy week..

This year, i am more like a person who doesn't attend church so much other stuff going onit is good to stay connected here

Clear blue sky here. Adjusting my plans to doing less painting and more yard work. I thought it was supposed to be rainy today. We have been watching online services since we left Deep River but have not been in church here since last November when the Delta variant was prevalent. We enjoy going to church but the services we attended in the fall were not rewarding enough to risk getting Covid. In my mind it is Easter weekend but I do not feel like it is Easter weekend.

It looks nice here right now but is supposed to turn rainy and even snowy overnight tonight. Quite a mixed bag, in other words.

Welp, my day has been truly made. I discovered that Ruth Buzzi is on Twitter, tweeting out a daily stream of puns and bad jokes. Instant follow. She's retired otherwise it appears. The Wiki article on her says she did her final role last year. It's well-deserved given how many laughs she's given us over her 85 years.

I'm not going to the Good Friday service, although I will miss it. Son, daughter and grandson are coming so I'm doing last minute cleaning. I've been cooking a few things for two days to get ready for Easter brunch. Husband is feeling good despite acute kidney failure last week, and possibility of cancer (biopsy and CT scans to come). Life is all the more precious at the moment. Other son and his family will join us for Easter brunch, but American unvaccinated daughter and her family are still unable to cross the border unless planning to isolate for two weeks. I was hoping her Dad's health issues would convince her to get vaccinated. Oh well...

Went to the in-person service this morning and found it very meaningful. It was short and simple & we were invited to leave in silence. I have always appreciated this Good Friday tradition.

@Mendalla - great to hear about Ruth Buzzi! Loved her on Laugh-In so many years ago.

@JayneWonders - big weekend! Will be thinking of you :-) And would love to know the name of that consignment store - nI have a new hobby of prowling those :-)

Got a message from our son last evening that his gf had "symptoms" and was feeling quite unwell. Absolutely NO rapid tests to be found in their east Toronto neighbourhood. So I found some here by asking in our local fb group - and my mate & I took a late night walk to pick some up - not from a pharmacy but from a small 24 hour grocer. They got delivered this morning (it's about a 45 minnute drive from our home to theirs - luckily light traffic today), along with some soups from our freezer, and a nice spring flower bouquet. Her first test from earlier today was negative, but a second will be needed later or tomorrow. Nevertheless, we have cancelled our Easter get together with them. We'll cook the dinner Saturday instead & deliver it Sunday morning to them. Today I've been baking as planned - so the house sure smells good! That reminds me - I better go check my 'not cross' loaf!

I haven't been feeling great. I took a COVID test yesterday although I doubt it's COVID, assuming just things flaring up as no new symptoms and things are still within my normal, just the low side of things. Hopefully things improve a bit, have a specialist appointment on Thursday. A skin flare up has already calmed down overnight so hopefully things are on an upswing now.

I feel on the end of isolated. Begged off a neighbour's dinner because of various COVID exposures, then didn't go back in when everything seemed to come up clear but they brought me dinner, so I've been "Eastered". I won't do the Sunrise, but maybe go to church for Sunday. Going back to work Tuesday, still have regular pain in my ribs/chest/back but it feels more "accustomed" now, and not requiring anything more than carefully alternated OTC NSAIDs plus some CBD supplements.

Hopefully pain doesn't increase when you go back.

Main business of Easter is recovery from things believed without good reason ... thus the great mystery provided us with logos, logy and logic which powerful folks try to render down ... thus mysterious essences ...

On such topics people will tell you anything ...

Good morning! As we continue to think about health issues, both family and personal, as we watch the incoming of Spring with all sorts of weather patterns, and the myriad of other topics, let us join for a few comforting moments round the coffee cart. All is ready.

'Tis the season of ever-changing plans. Maybe we are learning to be a more flexible group of people! I know that when people ask us our plans, I say....this is what we are planning at the moment, but you never know how it might change. And everyone seems to understand.
