Just finished breakfast and wondering how long I gave to work on the yard before it starts raining. Cloudy here but fairly calm. Enjoy your coffee or tea and muffins. The prairie storm reminds of April 21 in either 1985 or 1984. We had gone into St. Paul on a Saturday for a batiq workshop and Alberta was hit by a blizzard that closed Highway 2. My brother in Calgary reported snow drifts up to 6 feet deep. Our highway had snow drifts over 3 feet deep. We spent the night with friends in St. Paul. A new high capacity transmission line in southern Alberta had 200 miles of line go down as it was not engineered for that severe a storm. The power company thought it had over engineered its previous lines.

Can you imagine and authority making such a mistake like the normal people are responsible for?

I'm told that responsibility is a part of neurosis and something to avoid on the route to psychotic states ... i.e. be responsible to nothing in some visions!

Yah I know it sounds like a conflict right! Conflicts are even a difficulty for the irresponsible ...

It sounds like the snowstorm is hammering Manitoba and many highways are closed. In SK the south east corner is getting buried. Some places have all highways leaving town closed.
Currently we have light snow and aren't anticipating a blizzard as we live further north.

Good morning, all! Happy Maundy Thursday. We remember those who are on the mend, and those dealing with winter weather. Stay safe!

The coffee cart is ready, come on in and join the conversation.

First year I don’t have any Easter deco up- just not practical with one hand. I did manage to put the snowman deco away before I broke my wrist. Is there any deco in The Room?

Does anyone even know what this word means any more? I mean, to me, it sounds kind of like a drab mood. "I'm feeling kind of maundy today."

Apparently, though, it is actually derived from mandatum, the Latin for "command", and refers to Jesus' saying "I give you a new commandment."

No family dinners this weekend so I am not decorating either.
Ditto. It's never been a big family holiday in my family, though. Even when I was a kid, at most we might have my grandparents over for dinner.

I have a few bunny candy dishes out and eggs.
Will be painting wooden eggs with my nephews this weekend.

It's a bit difficult to make decisions with the lack of information about COVID from the government. I'm hoping though under 40 & infected in Feb = very low risk they could be reinfected so safe for Chemguy and I. Vaccination doses runs the full range between us, 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 doses.
I know reinfection rates are high but details lack. I would think there's a difference both in terms of length of time plus the variant.

I received a parcel today from a good friend in Germany- with chocolate, raspberry/ lavender tea, some decoration and a pull-tag can opening tool that is coming very handy. Thankful for good friends.
I am thinking about making some sweet bread tomorrow, I have an electric stand mixer, but still not quite sure if I will be able to handle that one-handed.

Sounds like a helper would be a good plan for making sweet bread.

Started out miserable outside, but ended up lovely today.

I had a bunch of little errands today.
Some work, then off to fun.
pedicure.
Went to a friend's, showed her my two dresses, settled on one, then she helped me with jewellery for the weekend.
She gave me tip on a quality consignment shop and found a nice clutch there...and they said they would take the dress after the wedding - yes!
Other errands and shopping made for a long day. Happy to be seated

Waiting for the doctor for the telehealth appointment. She's in Victoria and I'm not. It's great we have this option. When I go home there will be a campfire waiting for me. It's a glorious sunny day
Hoping the phone appointment brings good news.
I have mixed feelings about telehealth. Talking to my GP, or a specialist I know, is useful. I was really uncomfortable when phoned by a specialist I hadn't met - actually I had never heard of him!

Yes, these phone appointments are funny things. I have a ultrasound scheduled for May 15th, as a follow-up to an "odd" observation during my recent CT scan on my fractured ribs. 3 weeks later, on a certain date, I am to keep the phone line open from from 1-5 p.m. for a phone consult with a vascular surgeon.

Hope that all goes well for you. Once they start 'looking inside your body' they tend to find things that weren't expected and require more looking. Doesn't seem to matter whether it is x ray, ultra sound, or some other method. It kinda sucks in my opinion.

This is a video visit and works well usually. I had to slump so she could see me because of the way the camera is angled. Not a big problem.

Had a good visit with the doctor. Scans that were done on Monday were good. All stable, no progression. Seems being zapped in January helped. Next scans and visit will be the end of August.
