Fish are a lot of work - but probably less so than dogs or cats. While as a child I wanted a pet bird, I now think a bird would be a big nuisance. Seelerman and I are pet-free ourselves, but have been cat sitting our grandcat for several months. We will miss him when they move into their new home and take him. Miss him - but probably not enough to get a kitten for ourselves as much as we would love one.

Pinga, I like your attitude of 'things happen'. For some people (including myself at times) something like this seems like the end of the world. Seelerboy lost my cell phone last time he was home. He sweated about it for days. It was just a cell phone - sure I missed it until it could be replaced but it was not worth ruining a vacation over.

I do enjoy our one cat-and would have found my other cat's passing much harder without this feline company.
@Pinga-glad it all worked out with your tablet

It's our church's annual meeting today-and also our long weekend as Mon. is family day.

@Pinga I am so jealous of your Surface3 - I am longing for one :) I also find that the Microsoft customer support for the Surface is incredible - twice I've had to call (once it was operator error/glitch and second time it was all operator error) and they have stayed onthe phone for almost an hour walking me through steps and making sure the tablet was doing what it was supposed to do. This is the first generation nonPro version too so not within warranty or anything. And no wait to talk to tech support. I also love the fact that it has the kickstand and can take USB keys - that makes life so easy - I put all my shows on the sticks so I can watch them when we are travelling - it is such a great little machine - I just wish the price would drop a little.

Like @Seeler I am impressed by your attitude that stuff happens - I was really down last week about the "stuff" that was happening. I lost sight of my response of "will this matter in 5 days/weeks/months/years"? Your example is a good reminder to do that more often.

Well, one of my bad habits is not going to bed early before a trip. I want to have as much as possible normal over the weekend, so, I leave my packing, etch until after folks are to bed usually. This works out ok when I can sleep in van, and on plane... doesn't always work out that way. Tomorrow is an early morning.

I'm a bit concerned. I was planning on picking up a few things today after yoga. I was way too tired out. Now I feel like I had a full out workout that I was able to do on my good days, where I was on the boarder of pushing too hard. Not really sore, but just muscle fatigue all over, where you usually end up feeling sore the next day.

This was the Yin class. I felt good at the time. At least I ended up shifting my treating days (it happens, when it's every 3-4 days) so I did it last night, hopefully I got enough in my system to protect me through the night and tomorrow.

I was intending this to be safe exercise outside of that 24 hour treatment window though.

I'm trying to pay more attention to my body rhythms. My schedule on bowling days is: lunch at 12:00 noon, take pill for tremor, rush out at 12:30, start bowling at 1:00. I've noticed lately that on arrival at the bowling ally I am often shaking so badly that I have a hard time tying my bowling shoes or writing down the players on my team's names on the score sheet. But by the second string usually my shaking is a barely noticable tremor and I feel great. Is it because it takes a bit of time for my medication to kick in? Or because the exercise helps to control the tremor? Or something else?
I think today I will try having my lunchtime pill around 11:30 with a glass of milk.

Curious what the pills say? Could it be activity based and arriving 30 min early would help? I am interested in what you figure out

My pills are Teva-Levocarbidopa (Levodopa&Carbidopa). The only instructions on the bottle are for one tablet three times daily. My neurologist told me that I should take them at meal times and that I could take two at a time (total of four a day, I understood) if needed in times of stress. I don't know how long they take to kick in. I'll try to see if taking them earlier helps - or maybe arriving earlier so I can try to relax before trying to do much - or if it's just the exercise that helps. I might also discuss with my pharmasist how long it generally takes the pills to kick in. They seem to dissolve quickly, even start to disintegrate in my mouth if I don't get them down on the first gulp.

Yin yoga I found to be the hardest on my body and on my mind. I know that the people who were fit in my class also found it to be uncomfortable and really tiring (we would do it before a spin class).

Seeler - you might need a more carb-based snack too (I know milk has carbs) but in my experience (and every person is different) milk is not usually sufficent with pills that upset my tummy - I need a few crackers or a piece of bread or something. A pharmacist also told me to eat before and after the pill not just one or the other. I hope you find a better solution that works for you. I love my pharmacist and can call her to ask her questions and she is very down to earth. I don't understand how it works but there is also a correlation between how much fluid you consume and how fast some meds work.

Pinga safe travels.

I am sitting at the "bar" at the hotel, enjoying my Chai Toddy, and a burger. Haven't gone to my room yet; but, that is ok. I needed some me time, instead of being pulled in 10 directions by people.

For that reason, I am on my personal machine, checking emails, reading Facebook, and this forum.

Seeker, I have been told often that pharmacists are your go-to people for meds in terms of how absorbed, when to take, etch. Someone else may be able to verify that to you, but it wouldn't hurt to visit your drugstore and ask.

Pharmacists are awesome! As I was reading your post Seeler, I was thinking - oh just give the pharmacist a call - and then a sentence later I saw you'd already reached the same conclusion :-) How was bowling?

I have had a cold, sneezing, pneumonia type of cold. 10 day antibiotic -one a day. Have 4 left.

Doctor always on weekend off when these things start. Now it is very little coughing

but laryngitis kind of throat. CrazyDad has pneumonia again and bladder infection

again. Thank goodness for our kids, Brought groceries and picked up meds and other chores.

I have not been posting much but have been in the room everyday,

pinga - that autocorrect of yours is doing it again - Seeler is now Seeker ... but that seems right! and I noticed etc is now consistently etch :-) Gotta love the helpful technology!

Oh crazyheart - what a nasty time you're having of this germy cold winter season. Hugs to you and mr. crazy too! And yes ... we give thanks for families and friends who fetch & carry, hug and love us through these times ... as you no doubt did for them countless times too. Such are good families. I'm glad you've been at least able to read along here ... lots of action this past weekend!

Hah, well, Seeler is a Seeker. Yes, I agree, that is the first thing that I am finding is awkward on this thing, the autocorrect is overly aggressive, and I can't seem to even stop it through standard steps. Sorry about that, and thanks for your patience.
