I pretty much stopped using a purse with the pandemic - seems a little less hygienic (normally purses tend to get filthy) and the hand to door to purse to hand to self seems low risk now for COVID but I'm not going many places. Did grab a purse for a few post total vaccine shopping trips I did. Phototherapy is a fold up changing mask that I keep my goggles, hair accessory (to put up completely) and a little container where I set my mask down on within the inside of the change pad. Hospital I throw ID, and my own hand sanitizer into a little plastic bag.

I have misplaced ID - drivers license, credit cards, health care card, etc. numerous times because of this, always by a door, by a computer for online credit card purchases, etc. Drivers license I started keeping in the console,, ensures I have it when I run to community gardens that I'm helping out with some organization.

I have a lot of ID on my phone, including my lake card. Can't recall the last time I used the lake card. Need it to rent out a boat. No idea where it is other than it's in a pocket or backpack or something.

Get ready to just pick up a new one. Where did I set my mask? Found it. Managed to not drop keys (that has been a big problem lately, dropping them beside seat and console which makes it difficult to fish out). Get to lake where I was going to use phone for ID - can't find phone. It's in the car. Try calling Chemgul to get him to call me back, he texts me. Figure drivers licence should be ok - thank goodness that was. Eventually found phone - it fell down the passengers side of the console, I think I may have tossed it on top of the console while trying to figure out where I put the mask. Haha people in the parking lot were looking at me a little funny as I was walking around the car, doors open, phone ringing.

Note to self - put drivers silence back in the car!

New lake card at least has a new design, a whole for a lanyard that they gave. Should make it easier to store somewhere that I can find it!

So, today, in the rain, I started digging the hole for Dave's tree, a pink magnolia. Was going to put it in the front yard, but the Locust is still there, and it's got roots, so putting it where I wanted it, is not going to be possible, unless I hire an arborist to take out the locust and augur me out a hole. So, no. And the locust might still have a decade, if I wanted....

So, I'm going to put it at the very front of my rose garden, a few feet from the sidewalk, it'll be very visible when it blooms, the scent should still waft into the house, the ground is quite workable, comparatively, and it will give me incentive to tidy up my rose garden, which is a weed-y mess.

Good morning, all! Kind of a dull, dreary, rainy day here at the moment. Sort of morning when you have to make your own sunshine. Let us gather in spirit around the coffee cart, where virtual hot bevvies are available to help with that process. Also to remember stories of public health people who follow up on comments, appropriate planting of trees, even if it's plan B, and the other big and little things that come to mind, let us come together in friendship and conversation.

Good morning. We have lots of sunshine here. Let it be known, that if the forecast heat wave hits Ontario it is not us bringing it when we head there! We can apparently expect to see 40 degrees soon.

We are heading to Ontario starting on the 5th. We should be there a week or so later and expect to stay a few weeks. We'd love to connect with Wonderfriends.

This is what we expect for this afternoon

Today across much of the country we give thanks and pay homage to Willis Carrier, who invented the air conditioner. Let us raise a mug in his honor, as we gather round the coffee cart.

Sounding like your trip is getting going at last. Will you be posting approx route and dates? I recommend avoiding the Trans Canada for travel through SK!

Thank God for Willis Carrier as we face the prospect of 40 degrees today.

Still muggy here but with less heat than the West. Only 30 high forecast today, though humidex is 39. Mr. Carrier's invention will get some mileage.

Power was out last night but it happened late, basically just after I hit the sack, so not as big a problem as if it had happened a couple hours earlier when we had computers and AC going. No idea what happened. Hydro just reports that there's an outage and the area affected and I haven't seen anything in the local media about it.

we had a power outage, more of a hiccup than an outage yesterday afternoon.

It's gorgeous outside right now. Summoned to church to help with an issue with the service that had a weird start time. Bit of an adrenal rush. I was sitting outside reading , enjoying a coffee. Now to try to relax again.

We'll be heading out on the 5th. Since we're heading across southern AB we plan to use the Trans Canada to get across SK. Why do you recommend avoiding it? We're trying to figure out what the rules are, particularly in MB to know where we can stop for the night. I had my second shot two weeks ago, so I'm good. Mr Northwind is getting his on the 2nd so won't have two weeks in. We have an important 40th birthday to celebrate July 14 so we hope to be in the London/Cambridge area by then.

Good luck on your travels. Hope the plague doesn't mess with things too much.

I was cussing out SportChek this morning. I put my bike in for service last week and it was ready for pick up. They still have the techs do a handwritten work order which the sales associate at cash then needs to key in to the point of sale system. And mine had like four items on it AND the tech's handwriting would make a doctor proud. Wouldn't it be easier for all concerned (techs, sales, customers) to put a terminal in the repair area, have the guys working there put the work order in electronically, and then just generate a barcode for the sales associate to scan? Maybe this is just me being my IT guy self, but using handwritten work orders in 2021 seems a bit inefficient, esp. when the store HAS a good electronic POS system.

I'm biased! To me the TransCanada is boring - endlessly almost. There are wonderful places in SK- just not on that highway. I think I tried to educate Jae about that some time ago (not very successfully).

Things are opening up. We are also self-contained so can minimize our contact as we travel. I'm fully vaccinated now and hubby will be soon. That helps.

If anyone wants an outdoor wondergathering in London area later in July, we're in.

I agree. We have friends in your area that we hope to visit. If we get there this year it will be on our home trip. When we travelled from northern BC/AB east, we took 16 to Saskatoon, then through Saskatoon to 1. I would like to see more of Saskatchewan. Heck, I even enjoy closing it on 1.

Good morning, all! The day has begun. Coffee and tea are ready, help yourself. The virtual AC in the virtual room is working fine. Cushions are fluffed, etc. Come in, escape the heat, enjoy the conversation.

Can this all be illusion and thus denied given the sense for divine ideals and divisive terms? That's extended diversity in a word or two ...

It is said that God is the word ... and we understand little about the vast spread ... extensive evolution? Consider the changes in metaphors and cognates! Thus the Nate is pegged ... that's Ur bi ...

We spent a full three weeks in SK a few yrs ago - and it was spectacular! So much more to see & experience than most people imagine!

Came home to cat meowing almost constantly and looking out the window. Also noticed that the fly screen of the window has fallen out. Cat continued to be roaming and in bad mood. No way of distracting her with toys. Then, same thing during the night. Kept waking me up. My theory- the neighbour’s cat, who is a mean one ( he sits himself in front of her catio just far enough so she can’t touch him). Maybe he pawed at the window screen to make it fall out.
After her waking me up sometime around three in the morning, finally by 5.30 my alarm clock goes off and I find her stretched out , completely relaxed at the end of my bed. So, no, it wasn’t pain of any kind...
