He's a good man. Calls me every week, anyway, usually Sunday afternoon. He's a very patient person in many ways; he was a lot of fun to travel with when we drove him back out west. This is the second father-type my kids are losing after my late husband died. It's hard.

Good morning, all! Once again the coffee cart is up and going. Coffee has brewed, water has boiled, come and get it.

Thank you for the coffee! It's a nice warm up with my bowl soup as I'm just back from my weekly 'bird hunting expedition'. We were hunting for a little Easter Screech Owl today - and found it! Will post some pics later over on the Ducks/Birds thread. Beautiful sunny day and a little warmer than it has been, with NO wind - which was a welcome change. We got a skiff of snow overnight, so had to be careful walking as lots of ice was hidden.

Carolla, this weekend is the Great Bird count/watch. If you search you can find 5e app to download. To identify and count birds for 15 minutes and register them

I was granted compassionate exemption to see my guy for the last time today. Has to all happen through the health unit. Spent two hours with him, chatting, holding his hand, playing him music (ya know the old guy's 'gone' when Box of Rain, his favourite Dead tune, doesn't rouse him at all). The staff are incredibly compassionate; one of his nurses gave me a totally illegal, albeit masked, hug on my way out. Although the Health Unit advises I needn't isolate (I was as PPE'd as any staff, with surgical mask, droplet screen, clean gown, fresh gloves), my boss has asked me to take the 14 days off as a precaution to protect his staff, which I totally get.

I don't think he will make it to Valentine's Day (his favourite holiday; he called it ValenCrimes), nor maybe even tomorrow.

In honour of my "old guy", I give you Box of Rain:

That's wonderful Bette that you were granted a visit today - sounds like a special and memorable two hours. Sending hugs.

Good morning, all. Today we give thanks for opportunities to see those dear to us, and for songs that bring memories; for birds to observe and count; for carts to gather around in spirit, and for warm beverages on a cold morning. Come and get it.

Good morning! Putting the kettle on for some tea. Just put in an order with my supplier for some new loose leaf. Sadly, their local delivery service has been cut back to just Wednesdays and Saturdays and I seemingly missed the cutoff for today, even though I placed the order yesterday morning. Ah well, I should have ordered earlier but was waffling on what to buy. They just have too many interesting teas.

Good morning Bette. I am so glad you had an opportunity to say good bye. I expect it was very difficult for you and I hope that today you give yourself some love and hugs. A long walk, head phones for the Grateful dead and a time to remember, laugh, and think

and thanks for the coffee. Warms me up after another chilly walk

After doing a pretty big order I decide to post one of those referral codes to facebook, I avoid putting stuff like that up typically but have used the company for a while so figured I would throw it up. Someone used it, a bit surprising, a friend of a few friends - people I probably wouldn't have considered friends back in highschool, moreso friends of friends then. Interesting to see where that stuff goes.

Good morning! Coffee is on, tea water is hot, all things are ready as the coffee cart. Help yourself.

I was ahead of you subliminally ... by boiling up without a whisper of what was continuing ... going on?

Out of here or extant process!
