I'm late for morning coffee, but green tea would be nice right now.
Hope everyone's day is going well.

Good morning. I have been cleaning up my freezer by using a last year's produce. I have a big pot of strawberries and rhubarb, with a bit of sugar and splenda. They are great. Topped with a bit of yogurt and even with fresh-made tea biscuits. Early this morning in time to watch the sun take over the trees. My neighbour's yard. Looks like we're in for a beautiful day. I just hope it doesn't get too hot – I prefer spring weather to the heat of summer.
PS I am often out of step with the majority.

You are quite in step with the ape, at least. It's high 20s and humid here today and for a couple days to come and I am not a happy ape. We'll be firing up the AC this afternoon. Needed to test it anyhow. Just thought we could hold out until June from past experience but the weather had other ideas, evidently.

Good afternoon to all. Tea on the porch is in order Poor dog is tied up because the grass has been seeded and we don’t want her running across it. She is not too happy

have stewed my first pot of rhubarb too seeler and it is such the taste of spring. Our first asparagus were wonderful and the lettuce is getting bigger

I'm miserable in the heat as well. I have to purchase an a/c because it's going to get really hot up where I live.

we shut the windows, and closed the blinds and the door to the sunroom, leaving all windows open in the sunroom.
Very hot out there.
Hard on the plants, as not acclimatized.

What a difference in weather across the country. Stay cool Ontario friends. It's a dreary wet day here today. Our power went out for about an hour today. I decided to use that time to phone family in Ontario. My aunt's sister was murdered in Hamilton this month. I called her and my uncle to check in on them. We had a nice chat. I've since made chili in the Instant Pot. This is the second time I've done that. It's also the second time the burn warning has gone off because of a little bit of burn on the bottom. If anyone has suggestions on how to avoid that they're welcome to share them. Now we're watching Carol Burnett bloopers on YouTube and enjoying a Heineken. Mr Northwind helped friends move their trailer the other day so they brought the beer to say thanks.

Sorry to hear about your aunt's sister's death @Northwind. I think I heard about that on the news - and a recent arrest of a young woman who has now been charged. So tragic. I think it must be very complex to be family of someone who is murdered - news coverage popping up frequently, so many questions, often years passing before a trial ... so challenging to grasp. :(

oh my goodness, sorry to hear about this Northwind. As Carolla has shared, that would be so hard to understand

Condolences to your family, @Northwind.

Checked into the story, as I tend to when one of my former hometowns is involved. I know the area where it happened. I lived not far from there from 1993-1996. Haven't been down there in a long time. We moved out near Hamilton General Hospital the last few years in Hamilton.

Yikes! I hope all of the family is doing ok. Not something that's common, thankfully.

My aunt and uncle are doing well. Her sons, niece and nephew are understandably struggling. It's a tough one for them of course.

Yes, that's the one. I talked with my aunt and uncle today and they seemed to recognize the overall tragedy of the situation that includes that young woman. She looks so profoundly sad in the photo they've circulated. My aunt and uncle seem to think Glady may have been trying to help the woman. Of course it will be awhile before they get answers, if ever.

I met Glady a few times over the years. She was a strong minded woman. She was good people.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. It's like you say, a tragedy for everyone involved. Condolences

Northwind, so sad, how difficult to understand.
We know that these things happen, but to somebody else. Every now and then it hits home. We realize that we live in an imperfect world, and it could happen to anyone, anywhere.
Sorry to hear that this happened in your extended family.

Good morning! Wednesday has arrived! Let the bells ring out, the bands play, and the banners fly!
Heat warnings n effect in these parts, hope you can stay cool. (BTW can someone throw another ice cube on the air conditioner?)

Good morning, I think I saw Red Baron in the kitchen preparing coffee. My contribution for today is stewed blueberries from the freezer.
Recipe: bag of blueberries (whatever size you have).
A mixture of sugar and Splenda (depending on how sweet you want them)
simmer on top stove until done.
Cool and hope that they jell a bit.
Server and toast if jelled enough.
If not, serving dessert bowl topped with yogurt or whipped cream.
